Naifay Double Din Car Stereo Radio with Apple Carplay Radio for Car

Let me paint a picture: I've been toying for a while with the idea of buying an aftermarket touchscreen radio for my 2005 Honda CR-V... until my battery died and I didn't have the code to reset the original radio. So here I am needing a new radio. After a bit of research on Amazon I came across this one. Cheap, good reviews, let's give it a try. My process was kinda rushed, so I had no idea what the installation was gonna be like, nor what other things like "trim kits" were or wiring harnesses. I bought the radio alongside the recommended antenna adapter for my CR-V. Well, turns out I didn't need the antenna adapter, take note if you have the same car. I then proceeded to buy some quick crimp connectors alongside with the crimper/wire cutter tool. Ok, a bit more elaborate than I thought. Now, I do think I am quite a bit more handy than the average, but this was a first for me too. I removed the original stereo and unplugged the 2 wiring harnesses going into it and the antenna cable. Turns out that one harness was not needed at all. Good, less work for me. The antenna cable was good for the new radio too. BUT the next set of wires that went into the radio was going to be quite a bit of work. This is when I would have loved to know that there are such things as wiring harness adapters. They basically connect the wires that went into your old stereo and arrange them so that they'll work on your new radio. Plug and play basically. Unfortunately I can't tell you what wire harness works for you as I didn't use one. What I did do was cut the existing wiring harness to free all the terminals. I then stripped them all and crimped the quick connectors in place. One by one. Then I surfed the web to find a wiring diagram. Great, found one! Too bad that quite a few wire colors were wrong/mixed up, and to make it worse, some of the wires on the car were basically identical. I crimped the wire terminals supplied with the stereo and then connected the wires together looking at the diagram online and the booklet that came with the new stereo. First try, no luck, turned on for 2 second and then turned off. But at least it turned on. Turns out that it would have been nice to have a better diagram with he right colors. I switched a couple of wires and bam, the radio turned on, but the music only came from 1 out of 4 speakers. Not too bad. Switched some other wires and shazam! Music from all the speakers. Ok, great, now let me close everything up. Yeah, uhm, so that's what trim kits are for. Turns out that without trim kits you'll see the edges of the radios that should be hidden. Not ideal. Bought a cheap trim by Metra that was supposed to fit. Aaand, it didn't. Had to hack it and cut the frame short to make it fit, put some take to hide the cut and that's how it remains now. Still not the best fit, but good enough for me not to loose my mind when looking at it. All in all the process took me about 3 days having to work for an hour at a time as I didn't really have the time. If you truly take a whole day or weekend off and dedicate it to this project, you'll most likely make it work. That is if you're average in handiness. I don't really have the time to mess with the backup camera, yet, once I have more time I'll try to get into it. But it should be a fairly easy process. The audio is pretty good and I'm happy with it. The radio doesn't work in you're in CarPlay mode, and that's a bit of a bummer. CarPlay only works if you plug the phone in with a cable. I'm happy with the purchase and the process. My car looks a lot smarter now that I have the touchscreen. The installation problems were not due to the stereo itself, but rather because of the poor wiring diagrams from my older car. Your wiring diagrams might be spot on and make the process so much smoother. I'd buy it again.

Updated April 29: The seller contacted me to make things right. I’ve got to say, this company has great customer service. My radio was not functioning properly and the CarPlay and MirrorLink wouldn’t work. Along with that, the radio looked dated and not very good looking at all. However, the company reached out to me to send out a new unit. It came in 2 days and it’s honestly really nice. If you wire things up properly, you have yourself a really nice radio! The CarPlay looks decent, the mirror link works well, and the Bluetooth is also a nice feature. I really think they went above and beyond to make me happy and I really appreciate it from a customer standpoint. For the price, this radio is super nice. It may not be the absolute fastest and high resolution, but for the unbeatable price I feel like there is really no competition with big brands. If you’re looking to upgrade your stock radio, this is defenitely a good option. The only downside is that you need the right mounting trim if you care about looks, as well as a module for the wires, but that’s standard for all aftermarket radios out there. — Original Review: 1 stars Overall, the radio works. Backup camera won’t work even after taking it to a local auto shop that specializes in stereo systems. When i connect my phone to the USB, the radio just turns off and restarts which requires a full vehicle restart to work. The Bluetooth does work. The sound quality is surprisingly decent.. another issue is that I’m not sure what version I got of this radio, but all of the other reviews look different. there’s no button to change the user interface on the screen and it’s stuck with portrait photos of landscapes, as shown in the video. Overall not too bad if you just need a replacement but too bad that the CarPlay dosent work for mine.

I own a 2012 Subaru outback and the wire for the backup camera didn't reach all the way to the head unit. I needed to add extra wire to make it work. This is an okay setup, I have been looking at a 4" screen for years so the 7" screen on this unit is a huge upgrade. Apple carplay/Andriod auto requires a USB connection from the head unit to your phone and works seamlessly. Install is straight forward, I soldered all the connections and grounded to the chassis, using the ground from the car's harness is not recommended and may result in engine noise and alternator whine. Update.......the B connector became loose and after a few days the red wire came out of the connection altogether resulting in no sound. I couldn't get the B connector to seat properly which made for a weak ground at the head unit and resulted in a hiss from the speakers. If I held the connector in by hand the hiss went away and the radio came in clear, however, I couldn't get the B connector to stay in place. I contacted the seller (not Amazon) and they have failed to respond. Since I went to the bother of ripping the dash apart along with installing the backup camera I was hoping to get another B connector. At this point I'm probably going to reinstall the factory head unit and call it a day.

i like the radio its nice hade replace the one in car i have 2008 scion xb that radio was shot so thought i look see what amazing ones Amazon has so i saw this one thought after seeing negative reviews just see how it works but so far nothing but a headache from start 1st no poower then got power then no sound now got sound but only my front speakers working no back sound we literally tryed everything so my next step get new speakers for car see if works ill do up date if it works update as today 5-22-2024 after we fixed it up still not working fine the up and down volum dont do not work problem is vulum to for up or down its not working so can not turn it down have to use bt to do it mist be a problem in wireing of radio its self we did everything so id say if hade to give it any stars 🌟 i give it for looks 5 for preforming i give it 3 cheepley made for sure

I really liked this purchase on first install. It seemed to work good. Camera works great with a very clear image. Android auto connected immediately upon connection to my s23 ultra. The volume down button is weaker/softer than the other buttons. Have to hit it just right sometimes for it to work...not a big deal and can deal with at this price point. I had zero expectations this would be perfect or perform like a $500+ unit. I usually make short trips with the vehicle this is installed in. First longer trip I notice it does not charge my phone, only maintains the battery. Second long trip...it froze up out of nowhere...wasn't even adjusting or touching it. It froze up and kept repeating a 1 second part of the song and wouldn't respond to anything, even the reset button. Pulled over, turned the truck off and the screen stayed lit, but the sound did stop. I started the truck, the screen went off, did the normal start up screen started working again sort of...now Android auto connects when it wants to. I could live with the lack of phone charge ability, but purchased for the AA capability that now works at will. Even at a cheaper price point, I expected a little better quality.

Worked on a mustang 06, sound quality is good, touch response is okay, normal nothing too slow, volume controls and button do as they should, Can be turned into a wireless carplay with those plug in wireless adapters and it works flawlessly, i really recommend this from personal experience, bought this jan 2024, during the insane heatwave, without air conditioning and without covers parked in the sun for 10+ hours, it stopped responding to my touch, everything else worked, i basically saw a black screen unless in reverse ( backup camera feed), then the cold hit,basically double damage, i decided to get it replaced 2026, (warranty had expired) i explained to the seller what happened and he was very understanding, sent a replacement free of charge.

Bought this in Oct 2023, installed immediately, and it's now Feb 2024 - so four months. I haven't even tried to hook up the rear camera, and may never get to it. I've never tried to use the remote control (really, why would I need that?), and I don't know where it is. But as a screen for an old early 2000's pickup truck (a for-fun old beater, it is NOT my main commuter vehicle), it is simply great to have google maps working up there in the dash. My bluetooth connectivity might have stopped working to some degree... to connect it always used to ask for my phone to be plugged in, and then once it was plugged in I could unplug the phone and it would still communicate via bluetooth. It doesn't seem to do that anymore - but then I don't mind having the phone charging while I'm driving, so plugged in it is. Just the fact that it doesn't have a remote microphone for calls means that, while I can hear people on phone calls clearly enough, they can't hear me. So I have to put my phone on its own speaker function to take calls. So my five-star review is for the unit working as a Pandora / Spotify control unit, as well as displaying and working with Google maps (even though it's through an iPhone), where I need to plug my phone in every time (now, where-as I didn't have to do that before ... but this really may be me as I haven't spent the time to see if it needs paired again). For the money I spent on it, if that's all it does, that's perfectly fine. Five stars. If the unit was more expensive, then that would be not fine. Mated to two 3-way Pyle inexpensive speakers it is probably better sound than this old work truck came with in the early 2000's. Edit: January 2025 and it's still working as it always had.

Overall was a great purchase for my vehicle easy to install great quality clear picture great sound quality comes from my connected speakers

after almost a year, no real issue, radio did get frozen up 2 time, resetted itself after few min while driving, or just power off/on vehicule it will do the trick. i Had to drill and cut the oem bracket of my hyundai accent 2010 to fit the radio. Fit almost unoticeable without any aftermarker dash radio cover. i didnt not install the rear cam. The radio synchronize within half a sec with my phone when powered up. faster then the entertainment system i have in my silverado 2024. for the price and the almost inexistenet problem i had. i would rebuy immediatly

I've only owned it for about a week, but so far, nothing has failed or broken on it. Everything works great. Pretty easy to install with some patience and attention to detail. Love the built-in EQ, and the Apple CarPlay works great. Easily the best bang for your buck CarPlay stereo that I've seen online.
