Very Sturdy
What a brilliant starter lathe! I haven’t used one for a while but wanted to get back into turning. Chose this lathe as it had good reviews. Wasn’t disappointed. It runs very smoothly and quietly. Standing on its rubber feet no need to bolt it down. Very solid cast iron. A very good price as well. As I am 80 next year it will see me out!

Solid lathe for the hobbyist
Quality solid bed, tailstock robust and easily positionable. The motor is smooth running and quiet,I like the fact that you can insert the morse taper drive without removing the faceplate. Good all-rounder for the hobbyist.

great device
I wanted to do woodturning for some while now. Saw Lidl had a lathe on offer for £70 so thought it was a good opportunity to try it. If I didn't get on with it I have only lost a few quid. It was going great for a short while then the chisel snagged and it shattered the rest and metal flew past my head. mmm. I decided I enjoyed woodturning but also decided I needed something safer. After watching many YouTube videos I opted for the Axminster lathe. OK, its not £70 but then, it does seem a quality product and probably last a lifetime. Very happy with my purchase.
