Well make for hanging holiday directions

These work as designed. I predrilled because the wood is old and hard. The clips hold my sunshade in the wind. No failures so far.

I took a gamble on these hooks, as I was hoping to find some to hold hanging baskets, and were inconspicuous against the white house trim. Installing them was easy, and directions were fine. Upon looking at them, I had concerns with the shortness of the screw portion, and especially with the shallowness of the threads. As a trial run, I installed them, and hung my empty baskets to get an idea of how they would look. Just the weight of the basket was fine, and had no issues. Once filled, I put the basket back up, and noticed the screw portion slipped a little. I gave a slight tug, as I heard a noise after hanging the basket, and the whole hook slid right out of the hole. The baskets were no where near 50lbs. If you wanted to use these for hanging decorative string lights, or lightweight decorations, then they are fine. I wouldn't trust over 5-10lbs, however.

Glad I bought these to hang a hanging plant. They work great. Larger and sturdier than a "cup hook" but not as bulky or making as big a hole as the ones sold at the hardware store. Glad I have extra to keep around for the next time I need these.
