Had purchased a bargain solar led motion light from a big box store. It worked but the light was very weak. Then I ordered this light. It is literally like night and day. This light is BRIGHT! It makes the previous light look like a toy. And this was actually less expensive. It looks like an OEM light fixture with its clean metallic appearance. It senses movement much further out than the typical IR sensor lights. And it really puts a useful amount of light in the area. HIGHLY Recommended. I'm updating this review because of someone else's answer to a question. There is no setup issues with these lights. Just select the MODE based on the instructions. Not like IR Motion Detector Lights, these are very sensitive for a much longer range. Dillon's comments to a question interested me since I have a completly different and positive opinion of these lights. I'll take them one-by-one... #1.. "High Dollar". These units cost about $36 on Amazon. You may find less expensive units on Amazon, but they don't have the features this one does. This uses Radar Detection instead of IR Detection. IR Sensors tend to burn out when mounted exposed to direct sunlight. I doubt these Radar sensors would. And the lowest cost unit at Home Depot is $40 and has about half the light output of this unit. I know because I bought and tried one and returned it. It also "looked" like an Add-On unit, unlike this one that looks clean and sleek and "built-in". #2... "Leaks, holds Water"... This concerned me, even though I live in a more desert climate. So, I took off the end caps with the 3 screws on each end and looked at it. Pictures are attached, You can see that the case is Extruded Aluminum and the end caps are high quality metal. There is a Silicon Seal where the cap meets the case. Looking inside, the ONLY holes where water might leak are the screw holes, but these are on the back of the unit that mounts against the wall. The Silicon Seal also seals against the Solar Panel. The fit of the solar panel in its mounting slots is very tight and leaves very, if any little space for water to enter. Besides, the Solar Panel slopes downwards, so any water on the surface would most likely flow off the light very quickly minimizing any chance water would enter the case. The ONLY holes in the case are to connect the interior electronics to the Solar Panel and the LED Panel. However, the LED Panel is on the Underside of the case so water would not flow UP into the case. Also, the LED Panel is attached very securely to the inside of the case and appears to have a very good seal. If this light fixture was under a waterfall or exposed to roof runoff, there is a slight possibility water might intrude, but that could easily be mitigated by placing Silicon Sealant on all the seams and screws. I HIGHLY recommend these lights.

We have used these Solar Lights for many years. They continued to light the night for us. The bright, dim, and motion detection, are great features that are usable in different locations. The city grew up around us and instead of keeping wild animals and rodents away, we need to keep porch pirates from stealing our deliveries, keep homeless people from leaving our outside water faucets on all night. We do have cameras, except dim to a bright solar shining light indicates to the intruders that YES, you are being watched, filmed, and reported. Our property is large, on a corner lot on a double main road with a median, and also a frontage road. The front main road has street lights, except the frontage road and the side road into the neighbor built behind us does not. These solar lights are perfect because they can be on all night long and be set on dim and become bright on motion detection. They are easy to install on our rain gutter guards and protect our three patios and our swimming pool area and are very easy to install on 6 - 8 metal posts that we purchase at a local home and garden / hardware store.

Hi HerrysHome I don’t know how you build these lamps so efficient so simple and secure when installed. Then the bottom line? inexpensive!. Another advantage is reading everything I could find on Solar information on HerrysHome sales page and on Amazon including Reviews I realized it would be to expensive to set up a 2ft by 4 ft solar panel. If HerrysHome offered a Solar Panel to connect several Solar light fixtures to I would trust the engineering from you guys in a second. I will add Chicago? Sunny? 50%? Unbelievable efficiency. The Technology? Will People see the Magic? Yes! HerrysHome products is No wiring needed. I hung this light over my garage to function as a security light detecting motion. And it does that very well. It has good range. It is very bright and lights up a large area. Sturdy construction. I really like this like except for 1 thing. (thus 4 rather than 5 stars) When the light comes on due to detecting motion, it only stays on for 15 seconds. To be honest, that is almost like a slow blinking light. My daughter actually asked "What's with the flashing light outside?" It comes on, then goes off in no time. It should really stay on for at least 30 seconds. Or allow me to choose how long it should stay on: 15, 30, 45 or 60 seconds. I do like it. I just wished that the light stayed on longer than 15 seconds. At least it does stay on if you are within range moving around. I took the trash out and the light stayed on the whole time I was there, which was longer than 15 seconds. So that was good.

Product would only work well for about 1 to 2 hours then just didn't seem to really want to work well anymore. The motion detection was way too sensitive and after while it just stopped working. Took it down recharged it and reset it Worked for another 2 hours then stopped. Did this several times. Sent it back and got my money back.
