You can definitely bounce it on the pavement for ball slams, but not dribble it like a basketball.

How thick is the rubber shell?

If your question pertains to how durable it is, it's about the best I've found. It will not take slamming into the pavement or concrete floor; but throwing it into walls, etc. only causes concern for the wall. I can't tell you how thick the rubber shell is in inches or fractions thereof.

How is the grip on this ball if you plan on using it for floor and standing exercises using both hands? Is it slippery or rubbery like a basketball?

It has grip but not like a basketball I have a 30 pound ball and a 15 pound ball when I start to sweat it gets a little slippery for me so I just picked up some Thin gloves with grip on them
