Great little surfacing plate!
I'm not sure what this is meant for but I was in a pinch and needed to take out a scratch/gouge on the cylinder head of my kfx450r quad when I was replacing the head gasket so I bought this because it could be delivered quickly. This plate was just big enough for the head and cylinder to fit with enough room to move it around and With the 60 and 80 micron wet sand paper this worked perfectly and got me back out riding quickly instead of having to wait to send the head out to a machine shop to get surfaced.

Beyond impressed
So I used this with adhesive backed micron sand paper to resurface the heads on a 4.7L engine. 10/10 highly recommend, with some elbow grease and patience I got the heads just about under .001 by hand. Canโt express how happy I was with the result, 10 out of 10 seriously

Not flat
Not dead flat, bowed by at least 0.01" as measured with feeler gauge and Machinist straight edge. I didn't bother seeing just how bad it was as my required tolerance was 0.005" or better so it was not acceptable. But otherwise nice piece of kit. Will likely figure out how to return it in the coming days.

Excellent
Exactly as described. Works well for my needs. Quality is excellent, anti slip pad works good. As far as I can tell it is dead flat. Good value for the money.

As described, but came with small scratches
Have yet to use this. Just arrived in the mail. Is indeed dead flat and dimensionally accurate, but had some minor scratches in it. I was hoping it would be perfect but for what this is described as being used for, it's not a big deal. Came with a non-slip mat as well for underneath which is perfect.

Thick, heavy, dead-flat - perfect for lapping!
This is a must if you need an absolutely flat surface for lapping, and don't want to shell out for a granite surface plate. I Purchased this primarily for lapping duties, but also for knife sharpening from time to time. Had it checked on a milling machine and the dial indicator (+/- 0.001") did not move from zero once set on the glass!!! Weight is perfect, as it doesn't move on my silicone work pad. Although it's much larger than really needed.... I kind of wish I had gotten the larger plate so I could put 3 different grit silicon carbide papers on it at the same time.

Lapping base plate
Great item. When used with lapping film stuck to it, I was easily and effectively able to sharpen my straight razor. Recommended.

It is what it is
Is not much to say about this. Nice size, I am using as a surface for sharpening tool. Nothing more, nothing less.

Badly curved along its length.
I just received this piece of glass (July 2025). It had an obvious curve to it down its length. I put a machinist's straight edge on it, and it isn't close to flat. If you intend to use it to flatten the soles of planes with it, don't buy one.
