I’ve been using The Ordinary Behentrimonium Chloride 2% Conditioner for over a month now (every 2–3 days), and it’s become my go-to daily conditioner. What I Like • Lightweight but really works. This conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down, yet my strands feel noticeably softer and easier to manage after each wash. • Fragrance-free — perfect for sensitive scalp. If you’re sensitive to smells or prefer no scent, this is one of the best unscented conditioners I’ve tried. • Great for all hair types. It works equally well on my slightly wavy hair — detangling without heaviness — and leaves it feeling healthy without buildup. • Simple, effective formula. No unnecessary additives — just straightforward conditioning that does its job. What Could Be Better • Not super rich for very dry hair. If your hair tends to be extremely dry or coarse, you might want to follow up with a richer mask or leave-in treatment. On my hair, it’s perfect as a regular rinse-out conditioner, but heavier textures could use more moisture. Best For This is ideal for anyone who wants a no-fragrance, everyday conditioner that detangles and softens without heaviness — especially if your scalp is sensitive or you prefer minimalist formulas. Overall: Highly recommend — simple, effective, and gentle enough for frequent use.

Makes my hair so soft. The Ordinary products are great quality and affordable. The conditioner isn’t greasy and washes out easily. My hair feels healthier after using this product. It’s unscented, which is great.

This is the first conditioner I’ve tried since learning through allergy testing that I’m allergic to linalool and other common chemicals. I was a bit hesitant switching from the scented products I’ve used my whole life, but this conditioner has completely won me over! It arrived perfectly packaged — sealed both internally and externally, with brown paper padding the box. There was no leaking or damage in transit, and the product itself has absolutely no scent. Despite being fragrance-free and minimal in ingredients, it performs beautifully. A small amount goes a long way — it leaves my hair soft, hydrated, and easy to comb through with minimal shedding. My hair stays moisturized and smooth for the 1–2 days between washes, which is more than I expected from such a simple formula. I honestly love this conditioner so much that I can see myself continuing to use it even if I’m ever able to reintroduce scented products into my routine. It’s that good — gentle, effective, and a total win for sensitive scalps and allergy-prone users.

Unscented was very high on my list and this product delivered that. I have fine hair and the first time I used a squeeze that was too much and my scalp was a slippery mess. The floor of my shower was also slippery. I feared it was unusable but I reduced the amount significantly. Now I use just a tiny bit, maybe a thin 1/8 inch, and it works fine.

I have contact allergies and have been using Paula’s Choice since my diagnosis in 2016. Tragically, Paula’s Choice has been discontinued. I tried every other conditioner on my SkinSafe “safe for me” list and they all either left my hair dry and tangled, weighed down, or made my face red. I’m allergic to vitamin E and fragrance including botanicals so my options are very limited. I was so happy to see a new product on my safe list and by the Ordinary, no less, a brand I actual recognize. This one is a winner. It leaves my hair smooth and moisturized but not weighed down. I can comb it easily and it has shine and volume. My fine, chemically treated, wavy/curly hair loves this stuff and so do I because it hasn’t caused any adverse reactions. I’ve used it three months now and don’t even miss my old conditioner. A little goes a long way so the price is fair.

To quote reddit reviews, your miliage- or results- may vary. This doesn’t work for me, but I wish it did! I love this brand, and the quality of their products is amazing for the price. So I wanted to love this conditioner! The scent isn’t overwhelming, which is important to me. And the product itself isn’t too thick! So I figured this was a lightweight conditioner but it’s actually incredibly heavy in moisture! So deceiving! I have pixie cut length hair so I need something lightweight and this just made my hair greasy and floppy. I tried it a few times with a tiny amount of product but it just doesn’t work out. It’s not meant for my shorter, straight hair. If you have thicker or longer hair, you might love this, but I didn’t.

For those of us who need fragrance free products, this is fantastic. I’m allergic to most conditioning agents (contact dermatitis), and there are only two that I can use, Centrimonium Chloride and Behentrimonium Chloride. I also have other ingredient sensitivities and personal care products are really challenging for me with hair care being one of the worst. This is very thick, and the first time I used it, I found it a bit drying as well as heavy/sticky, and it made my hair a little dark. I found that if I water it down, anywhere from 50 – 75%, it helps it disperse more easily throughout my hair, as well as makes it easier to rinse out. If you’re looking for a conditioner without silicones, polymers, or proteins, and you are super sensitive, this is definitely one to try. I find it extremely gentle and it makes my hair feel great…soft, silky, smooth, and very pretty. I have 2 back ups of this at all times because I’m terrified that it might be discontinued. Yes, the container is not ideal, but I find if I store it upside down, I can get most of the product out of the container. I wish they sold it in a larger size.

The frizz control is noticeable from the very first use, and my hair feels healthier to the touch. No overpowering fragrance, no unnecessary ingredients — just a simple, clean formula that works. Highly recommended for anyone looking for visible results with minimal fuss.

I’m a loyal customer of this product. I have fine and damaged hair and it works wonders. It reduces frizz and makes my hair feel smoother. I tried another conditioner once and my hair became static so I switched back and it’s back to silky smooth. I also apply it before swimming and other activities to protect my hair. It has no noticeable scent and my hair is much easier to comb.
