Amazon's EVO is light with a pleasant smell and taste, and a good buy. With olive oils continuing to rise in price, this is an economical choice. Keep olive oil out of direct sunlight and use a ceramic dispenser instead of glass for the same reason and your olive oil will last a long time. This a good product and good for your health

I love olive oil and seem to use a lot of it. I was advised a long time ago to cut back on salt. Seems I love salt as well. Not really. I'm a handicapped individual who has limited movement and stuck in a powered wheelchair. I have home health aides that do everything for me except cooking. Oh they are allowed to cook but I prefer them not do. I tried it a couple of times and found I could do better. I also tried Meals On Wheels and because they must follow doctor's orders their low salt dinners though hot were so bland. What I was normally eating were foods I could either Microwave or put in the toaster oven. Of course those meals are so high in sodium so that is the reason I had to cut back on salt. I love to eat and I love to cook. When my wife was alive I did all the cooking for the family. Now I had to start a whole new diet regimen. My diet went from Marie Callander and Stouffer's to lean meats and fresh vegetables. This is where the olive oil comes in. I know it took awhile. I found that I really like roasted vegetables particularly root vegetables. Potatoes, carrots, onions, hard squash, turnips and rutabagas. I found the best way to roast these is to coat them in olive oil. I tried sunflower, corn and canola but olive oil does the best. The olive oil makes the vegetables come out crispy brown on the outside and smooth inside. Carrots coated with olive oil come out usually so sweet. I found the whole carrots and not the bagged so called baby carrots much better. Olive oil is meant to be tasted. The first time I tried this oil it was under the Kirkland label. The oil wasn't too strong but not as tasteless as the local store brand. I've tried really expensive oil and found them too fruity and bitter. This oil gives you a very mild fruity flavor and not the least bitter. I use this in salad dressings and it can stand up to the garlic Dijon mustards and vinegars. I have even served this as a dipping oil with breads and though not as robust as some more expensive oils still works. I live alone so the oil has lasted quite awhile. Because I have little counter space I put this in a small oil decanter and the big bottle goes into a cabinet. The first time I used the oil I reviewed with a five star rating. The four stars for this review is due to the flavor. This is a bit milder tasting. Still with a mild fruity flavor. I'm very pleased with this oil. I have already roasted a bunch of onions and some carrots. They came out great. The oil isn't going to be liked by the food connoisseur but the average person will enjoy it just fine and will save a few dollars. This review was written without any financial considerations. Great product

My first time buying amazon olive oil. It tastes delicious! I'm always looking for single origin olive oil instead of pooled olive oil from different countries. I was pleasantly surprised to see that amazon's olive oil -is- 100% Italian. Not only that , but it's actually more cost effective than the olive oils that are pooled from different countries. Amazon struck gold with this olive oil. I'm a loyal customer.

I tried the Mediterranean blend, and I think that they put in the mix (a lot of) questionable origins oil, the taste was like rust, very metallic. After all it was a "blend" they didn't have to specify from where. I am Italian born, exactly from Liguria, and there they have one of the best evoo in Italy, so tasty and so light. So I tried the Amazon Italian evoo, but I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise it tasted *genuine* a real honest to goodness evoo. It is bitter as soon as you taste it, but my mother who is a super fine evoo connoisseur, assured me that all genuine evoos, when they are especially fresh, taste bitter and this is a sign that they are the real thing. I stay away from the Pompeian brand because that's a blend too e some of the Countries of origin are very questionable, what are the laws in that Country that would enforce a real purity of the actual product. And who tells me that in order to keep the price low, they are using mostly the questionable oils, with just a drop or two of good oils so they can legally say it is a *blend*. No blends for me, I buy only the unique origin, in this case from Italy. I used the Colavita before but now, at $49 a bottle it's out of question. But I had a way to ascertain that this Amazon Italian evoo tastes just the same.

I bought the Italian oil because the Mediterranean had olives sourced from different countries which is a big no no for me. This oil is exceptional with a very spicy flavor (better health benefits as this is the indicator for higher amount of polyphenols) that I love for drizzling and roasting vegetables etc. The bottle I received was very fresh tasting with a shelf date of July/26, I will definitely use it before it expires. I find this to be a great value as I've purchased award winning California oil at twice the price with hardly any flavor. I will definitely come back for more. If you like a full flavored olive oil with bite, this one is for you! Cannot wait to use it for focaccia...yum!
