A True 5-Star Deal! Unbeatable Value Multimeter
I am absolutely thrilled with this AstroAI DM6000AR multimeter. It's hands down a five-star product! The performance and features you get for the price are incredible. This is a great deal for the price, especially when you compare it to all the other multimeters out there that do the same thing (or even less!) but cost significantly more money. The meter feels solid, the TRUE-RMS function is a must-have, and the 6000-count display is bright and clear. It comes with everything you need right out of the box, including quality test leads, temperature probe and a magnet clip to hang your multimeter as you can see in the picture which is very convenient. So if you're looking for a reliable, feature-rich multimeter without breaking the bank, stop looking and just buy this one. Highly recommended!

Nice gear
I don’t have much experience with multimeters, but this one makes everything super easy. The auto-range handles all the guessing for me, and the readings are sharp and clear, backlit too. The build quality feels solid . Great little tool for tech and house work when you just want something reliable without any hassle.Am in the process learning about solar and electronics and its a good pick if your accurate number to small margin freak. one problem for me is it max a 10A.so you won't be able to measure solar panel that produce more than 10 amps if your measuring under 10A its perfectly fine and your still able to measure the voltage. Its a good piece of gear to have.I love it

Good, but not quite industrial grade. Worth it's price.
As someone who has carried and used a dmm as a necessary tool for decades, this is above average for occasional use. If you know how to use one. And in reality, good for the price. No, it's not a Fluke, but for 90% of what you use one for, it works fine and it's extremly inexpensive. Sample size of one, it was decently accurate when checked on the Volts, Ohms and Current scales. I measured various start and run capacitors and the readings were plausible. 1% resistors measured within 1%. I asked the vendor about the crest factor for the TRMS readings and they said it was 1.414. So I would be careful with readings of non sine waveforms, VFDs, servo drives, etc. The thermocouple readings are only in whole degrees, so perhaps indicator quality. I have a few gripes like the auto display and shutdown timeouts, but those are a pain on many dmms. Oh, and excessive beeping. I _know_ when I'm switching functions. The unit is supposed to have Cat II and III safety, but this depends on some fuses which are inobtanium in the US. I'm going to ask the vendor about a source. When checking 4-20mA automation signals it's really easy to touch the wrong terminal and blitz the .4A specialty fuse. The leads are short and PVC, but you can fix that. I don't have a means to check frequency and duty cycle handy. Now, retired, it should meet my needs. That is, I'm not going to return it and buy a Fluke. If I was working, I probably would. So my rating would have to be the famous "Good for the money". Spare fuses is an important issue working around 480 V to keep the Cat ratings. Construction seems adequate to me, you should treat your meters carefully. Oh, and one final thing. The magnet strap hanger is worth it's weight in gold working on equipment. I think Fluke's costs more than this meter. Update: Contacted the company, they said they would send a spare. This was a nice gesture, but in industry, to issue or approve the meter for a maintenance crew, it would be manditory to have spares available. It's a special part and the high current interrupting capability is needed for safety and to maintain the CAT rating. An ordinary fuse, if you could find one that fits the holder properly, might maintain an arc in an inductive circuit, destroying the meter and possibly starting a fire or injuring someone. Not as likely in residential power but, at 480 V and above, such things happen.

Easy to use, and easy on the wallet.
Works great! Easy to set up and use. Great value for excellent functionality. I use it for troubleshooting electronics, and it does everything I need it to. The auto detection means more hands on the project, less time spent dialing in values. Fused, and long lasting as far as I can see. Most multimeters don't need super frequent battery changes, and this is no exception. If it ever broke, I'd buy another.

Reliable and Packed with Features – Perfect for Beginners and Pros!
I bought this AstroAI DM6000AR and it has quickly become one of my favorite tools in the workshop. It’s solidly built, easy to hold, and the display is large and clear. The auto-ranging works flawlessly, and the True RMS feature gives accurate readings every time. It comes with all the essential functions – voltage (AC/DC), current, resistance, continuity, frequency, capacitance, temperature, and more. I especially like the “Hold” and “Max/Min” buttons, as well as the backlight for working in dimly lit areas. The probes feel durable, and the case design is sturdy enough to survive a few drops (already tested 😅). For the price, it offers excellent value and accuracy comparable to more expensive brands. Whether you’re a DIYer, an electronics hobbyist, or even using it for automotive work, this multimeter won’t disappoint. Highly recommended!

4 1/2 stars & fuse discussion
I believe the design is essentially one that uses the cheapest parts that still provide mostly high quality measurements. I don't expect it to last forever and I already own broken multimeters. I thought my best multimeter (USA brand, $80, but also made in China) just went on the blink which is the reason why I bought this one. I made the mistake of not testing its battery with a load on it. Its display lit up bright but went into crazy and the battery tested at 9.5v. Shame on me for not testing the battery properly. I use my cheap H.F. multimeter for testing 1.5 & 9v batteries since it can test them properly but often I'm lazy and only apply the voltage test which bit me here. Zinc carbon batteries are notorious for sometimes testing at a high voltage even when dead. "Lucky" for me I accidentally discovered the battery was dead when I received my new multimeter. (I put the dead battery in the new DM6000AR and it acts completely dead unlike in my more expensive multimeter which displays, albeit incoherently.) I'm currently in the process of taking down my over-the-range microwave oven to replace what I expect to be a blown thermal fuse. I've had to test ceramic fuses on two microwaves already so I'm aware of the potential difficulties and hazards. Fuses were on my mind when I bought this multimeter so I looked to see how easy it would be to get replacement fuses (and how much it will cost). I googled 400mA and 10A ceramic 600V 6x30mm fuses. I came up with very little. I went to a link target and saw two reviews there from people that bought that fuse (probably both people for this multimeter) and one of the reviewers posted a picture showing the received fuse was longer than 30mm and it could not be made to work (later I found what I believe is the same person included the photo in a review here too). I contacted AstroAI for sources for fuses and was advised on how to search. I emailed back and was given more search advice. Still, my options were little better after having completely wasted a large chunk of time. (I did find that when you need one fuse, you will probably have to buy 5 or even 10 of the same. Amazon may not be the best source for fuses.) I emailed back and I was sent three links to specific fuses. None ideal for bother now, but at least AstroAI finally helped. All three times I emailed, AstroAI quickly responded. Hopefully, you'll never need a fuse, but here's what I found out by searching and conversing with AstroAI. You may have to or want to settle for 250V instead of 600V - this will guarantee more choices. You can use .5A (500mA) instead of 400mA. You can use Slow Blow fuses instead of Fast Blow but I wonder if this is mostly only if you are getting 250V instead of 600V - probably not, but it might be best. In all cases, look only at size 6x30mm and ceramic, not glass. I just now see another reviewer who contacted AstroAI a couple years ago about fuses ended up buying BOJACK brand fuses (18 pieces each) but got glass fuses. I think glass is wrong and also less safe. I timed the backlight (turned on by holding the H button until it comes on) at 13 fixed short seconds. On an unrelated note, others have reported that pressing the Select button while turning on disables Auto Power Off (normally APO on display) (lasts for one session) so the multimeter doesn't shutdown after 15 minutes. While in this state, supposedly, it will beep every 15 minutes as a reminder. The reason I rounded 4 1/2 stars up to 5, is because the included bitsy manual says 3 year warranty (I'll disregard the nebulous "normal wear and tear of mechanical components" disclaimer). Weird that the warranty is nowhere stated on this Amazon page, and when I clicked on the warranty info link, Amazon sent me to a useless broken page that screws with my browser. The link to a pdf/printable manual provided by the first/top reviewer was appreciated although it has (I believe exactly) three differences (from the included tiny script) since it must be an older manual. It shows there used to be only a one year warranty and the fuses used to be a much larger size. I just now see there is also a link provided by AstroAI to a pdf manual which has the (updated) three year warranty but it still gives the old or wrong (10x38mm) fuse size!!! And both of the pdf's have a picture of the multimeter but it's model WH5000A (not DM6000AR) although otherwise identical including "6000 COUNTS". I just searched and found a report that the DM6000AR been remarketed in the West from the Kuman WH5000A. Reviewers liked the magnet which I immediately ditched. I folded some scotch tape on the flimsy kickstand because otherwise it's too flush to pull out. I reserve the right to downgrade my rating because AstroAI states on this page: "Batteries : 1 Lithium Metal batteries required. (included)" before it eventually states "Zinc Carbon" which is not the same nor as good.

Good value for simple tasks.
The device itself works well. I like that it comes with different leads and has a backlight. Also has a magnetic tab to stick it on to surfaces while you work. Also, it has an auto shutdown feature which is nice.
