Excellent Form, Function and Appearance for the Cost
Ok, there is a lot to unpack when it comes to some of the negative things that others have had to say in regards to these tiles. The one thing that most people do not seem to understand is that tiles like this ARE NOT SOUND BLOCKING! They are meant only to absorb echoes in an environment. In my case, these were installed with the idea of toning down the room a bit. I run a couple of industrial lasers that require supporting equipment like a water chiller, air compressor and more than one fume extraction fans. All combined add up quickly decibel wise and the tiles do an excellent job of quieting the environment just by removing the echoes so I only hear the original source of the noise and not it bouncing off everything else and hitting my ears milliseconds later. These tiles are not a “Silver Bullet”, but they are darn close. I have tried other sound dampening tiles and found them to be inferior in performance and a pain in the *ss to install with the sub-par adhesive squares that come with them, and just plain look like crap (I have a whole contractor’s garbage bag full of them now because they are that bad). The foam on these was a bit odoriferous at first, but dissipated quickly. Expansion of the tiles after removing them from the vacuum packs was almost instantaneous and were usable within 3-5 minutes and the density is far superior to other tiles I have tried. For installing these, I DID NOT use adhesive or tape. Since they were going over drywall the most secure way that I found to mount them was using a pair of Lineman’s pliers to push in 1” long round top blued nails (5 per tile). They are invisible once seated unless you look for them and they do not compress the foam and distort, thus degrade the function of, the tiles like staples from a staple gun will. Using the nails also made it exceedingly easy to remove the tiles for repositioning when needed due to installer error ;-) For my first installation, I covered the ceiling of the area where my machinery that makes the most noise resides. The floor was then covered with ¾” thick rubber stall mats which are also great for deadening noise reflections (echoes). Some have commented that my current 12’ X 11’ area is creepy in the fact that once they enter it, the normal echoes that we are all used to hearing almost disappear (this can cause discomfort/disorientation for some since they are something the brain uses for spatial cues). Would I buy these again, absolutely! Actually I already did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive so I can start installing them in the rest of the Shop ;-) Yes, I did get some dud tiles (mashed due to the manufacturing process, packing, whatever) as others mentioned, I just set these aside and used them when partial tiles were called for. In the end, it worked out just fine and the loss due to defective tiles was minimal at best (no tiles were a total loss). Just the tiles on the ceiling alone made an immediate difference, when coupled with the flooring the effect was far beyond my expectations! I cannot wait to tile the other two thirds of the ceilings when the rest of the tiles I ordered arrive.

Surprised at how effective these are.
When you first get them, it’s important to open them up and to shake them out a little bit. You see people telling you to soak them in water and to do all the stuff you don’t have to do any of that! That’s annoying and I wouldn’t give it five stars if it made me do laundry with it lol. You just unpack them because they are vacuum packed, and you shake them out you could stretch him a little bit. You can beat them with a paint mixing stick whatever floats your boat. and I laid them out all over the floor in a very haphazard style and I just aimed a fan at them so that air would be forced through them and I don’t think it took an hour and they were already normal size ready to use! There is no waiting a day for them to dry and put them on racks and all this other stuff that you read about on half these pages. I have purchased acoustic panels before and I have done the same thing. I am not watching these things and letting them sit out there and doing all this work. Not that I’m lazy, but I didn’t see the reason for it if I needed it after then I would’ve done it, but I didn’t need to do it. they don’t appear to be too thick, but it doesn’t seem to affect their usefulness and effectiveness. They’re very soft and they’re probably 2 1/2 inches thick. It’s very easy to install them and I have decibel meters and I tested them because I was using them in the home theater system that was downstairs right underneath the kitchen and dining room. So I needed to know how much sound was going through both ways to be honest. And it cut down on the sound coming from the kitchen so much so that I couldn’t tell when people were in it. Something you should know is that it’s a very busy kitchen. It’s very noisy and it has solid wood floors, and I have the home theater system, and the home theater man cave directly underneath it. So the cracking of the floor, the heels on the floor, the footsteps things being dropped. Things being moved in the dining room all wood floors, no padding between me and them and I can’t tell when the activity level is at an all-time high which normally I can it’s enough to wake the dead!! I use the and his squares. I don’t know if it came with them because I don’t remember now because I bought so many different ones, but I bought the most of these. So I had a piece of squares left over and I bought them separately as well. They seem like they wouldn’t work very well when you first peel the plastic off them but once you get the plastic off and you apply pressure to them, these adhesive squares are ridiculously effective. Make sure you clean the area they’re about to go because obviously they won’t cling to dust and I have them attached to wooden joists and have zero problem with them staying put. I layered the ceiling with them and the noise reduction is easily average about 42% which is incredible. At the price these are even if you find that you need more of them you can just stack them on top of each other for a dual thickness, but I don’t think you’ll need it. It depends upon your actual needs. I know that these block out everything very well except for base/ bass. AutoCorrect lol a base isn’t something you can locate with your ears meaning if you have a proper set up and you have a subwoofer, people can hear the base, but they won’t know where a subwoofer is same thing in traffic when you hear a car that has a lot of bass in it. You don’t know which car it is. You look around for the car that has the crazy rims or the tinted windows and then you figure that must be it, but you can’t really tell which car it is. If every car around you had tinted windows and rims you would have no idea where it was coming from so bass is tricky. But in the direction I was worried about it seems to get no complaints and I’m not the one who keeps the base on maximum, but I was very surprised that it worked both ways. And it worked even better to keep the sound out of my home theater man cave.!!!

Ok product.
Most of them puffed up. About 10 were faulty. They don’t stick well to double sided tape. Annoying to say the least.

The perfect guide to mount these and reuse them
By far the best budget sound proofing. The only thing I dislike is the smell. It makes me lightheaded after being around it too long. So here’s a guide on fixing the smell and making these panels mor durable and reusable even after mounting. 1. Open the pack and SUBMERGE IN WATER. I just use my bathtub with warm water. Make sure each panel is soaked with water and squeeze them to really get that odor off. Afterwards you’re gonna wanna really squeeze or crush these to get as much water out (it’ll be a workout). Next you can pat dry with a towel and air dry. This will take a few days to get almost all the water out. Or you can use a clothes dryer BUT NO HEAT. They will start smoking if it gets too hot and it smells bad. Next you cut cardboard squares 10inches by 10 inches. Cut a square for each panel you have. Then you use spray adhesive to attach the cardboard squares to the dry foam panels. USE VENTILATION AND A MASK. You don’t wanna breathe this stuff and don’t use near any open flames. Once that’s done you place them somewhere with ventilation. Point a fan at it and open a window. Give it like 1-2 days for the spray adhesive smell to go away. Next you buy 3M wall mounting Velcro. This will come in a strip, just cut small squares off this strip(you don’t need much to mount the finished panels. Then you mount em anywhere you want and you can take them off and place anywhere else. I bought some 2 years ago and moved to a different place and still use the same ones. Also cats will scratch the heck out of these.

Lacking in quality control, and doesn't come with any tape
*Edit* changed to 1 star. I stupidly decided to buy more panels to try and replace the defective ones from the first order, and the second batch was almost completely defective and much worse than the first order. Only 4/36 were useful, with the other 32 being horribly melted and misshaped. Quality control is absolutely abysmal, this is just a waste of money DO NOT buy these. Impossible to get a hold of any customer service reps, I guess Amazon's going full automation now. Really unfortunate situation. These foam panels are vacuum packed, so returning them is pretty much impossible. These panels are horrible. BE WARNED! I bought this because I wanted at a uniform thickness across the base of each panel. They are unfortunately fairly misshaped. Quite a few panels seem to be either melted or not properly formed along one or more sides. Ease of installation: 2/5 Requires extra tape Thickness: 3/5 Would be good if uniform Value for money: 3/5 Only slightly cheaper than better options Adhesive quality: 0/5 Requires extra adhesive

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decent for Light Soundproofing – Good Value, but Not Professional Grade
The main reason I bought these soundproofing squares was because my wife and I both work from home in the same room. I have a lot of meetings, and when she was in hers, she could hear me clearly—which made it hard for her to focus. We were considering working in separate rooms, but wanted to try dampening the noise first. These panels helped enough that we didn’t have to split up our workspace. They don’t offer professional-level soundproofing, so don’t expect total silence, but they do reduce echo and soften the sound enough to make a difference. One important tip: let them sit out for at least 24 hours before installing. I only gave them a few hours, and after putting them on the wall, they continued to expand, which threw off the alignment and made the wall look uneven and a few lifted off the wall. Overall, they’re a good value for the price. If you need a simple solution for light noise control in a shared space, these are worth considering.

The Perfect Choice.
These panels worked Great and saved me a ton of money VS buying some at guitar center. If the panels don’t initially expand fully, simply fluffy that area and give it a few minutes. All of my panels expanded just fine with minimal fluffing. I was able to convert a spare bedroom into a mini studio and the look and function great. The sound quality it night and day. There was no bad smell what so ever. I feel like you can’t go wrong choosing these.

Works decently to block some sound on cheap hollows doors.
Sound proofs fairly well when used on cheap hollow doors and most pads adhesive are still working fine, which is impressive considering the high humidity and heat in the house. Easy to install, just peel and stick.
