Great little electric bike for city commuting.
Great little bike for short commutes. I use this bike to commute to work which is about 1.8 miles away. It is mostly up hill on the way there. There are three modes the bike can be used on. On full throttle the bike moves without having to pedal, on pedal assist which makes for smooth effortless riding and when a certain speed is achieved you can just cruise. The button for electric input is handy within reach of the right thumb. When going down hill or on flat areas I just switch the electric input off. I find it is easy enough to pedal in these circumstances which for me is about half of my commute on the way back. I tend to manage three commutes to work before the indicator for the charge is on the last bar and I recharge the bike. It probably would cover one more commute before needing a recharge but I don't care for the range anxiety it will give me 😁. There is a speed limiter on the bike and it will not go any faster even if you pedal like mad with or without the electric input. But I would guess it gets up to a maximum speed of a run- maybe about 6-8miles per hour at a guess. But for me personally this speed is fast enough as I fear I may decorate the street with my teeth if I go any faster. It takes me 15-20 minutes to cover the distance to work one way. The bike has a small foot print. The wheels are small but big enough to not feel every tiny hole in the road. The seat and handle bar height is easily adjusted to what is comfortable for each persons height. I prefer to sit upright and not lean forward when riding. So I have the handle bar higher than the seat height. The small size of the bike ensures it sits in my entry hallway without getting in the way. At work I store it in the changing room. As the battery on this bike is not removable I have to take the bike to an available plug point. For those who may not have a handy plug point for this the same bike with the battery removable option might be a better alternative. In hindsight I would have coughed up the extra 100£ for this option as then it means that charging options are more and as the battery starts to wear down I would have the option to just get a new battery and not a whole new bike. In terms of repairs and maintenance, I had a rude shock in the first month. I do not know even basic bike maintenance and would need to take it to a shop for servicing. In the third week after starting with this bike, my 16 year old decided to test it and rode over the small step outside the front door while seated on the bike and immediately both the tyres went flat. Admittedly the tyres needed filling up and I was waiting for a pump to arrive. I am told that this is likely a pinch puncture where the inner tubes were pinched against the edge of the step with the weight of the rider while the tyres were half full. New tubes are cheap. But, the labour to remove the back wheel mechanism to allow for the tubes to be changed meant I had to pay 50£ in total for both the wheels to be sorted. So now I am committed to making sure the tyres are fully pumped up and watch what I go over when riding. The best thing about this bike is the feature that allows it to be folded neatly into a size that is roughly half of the original bike...size ends up similar to a medium pram. So It can be folded up to fit neatly into the boot of the car. No need for any tools to do do this. Just need some levers released. When I bought it, I had plans to fold it after every use and tuck it with the vacuum cleaner under the stairs. But the bike is heavier than it looks and it becomes a chore to fold after every use and then undo and reset the seat and handlbar height etc. But for the purpose of needing to fold it down occasionally, to fit into the boot of a car, this is a brilliant feature. It comes with a fob like a car key, that can be used to lock the bike. If one tries to move the bike after being locked with the fob, it sets off an annoying alarm and if you try pedaling, it moves like you are pedaling through cement. Even though it is impossible to pedal when off, the bike can be rolled away but with the annoying alarm ongoing.

Great Little Commuter
Ok so I have had this bike for about a month and use it to commute between the Isle of Wight and my brother's place in Portsmouth, twice a week. For the purpose I bought it for, it's excellent and build quality is also good. It folds up very small and I store it in the boot of my car. It's nippy and has some really nice features such as cruise control. It will cruise comfortably at up to 14 MPH which is fast enough for a bike of this size. The areas that I wish were better......battery range for a 16 stone man is not great. Bearing in mind that it doesn't have gears and after about 7 MPH relies 100% on its motor, the battery will take it about 8 miles. With pedaling a bit, I can probably get 10 miles. It's not a deal breaker but I wish it could do a few more between charges. Probably range would be better if you are small and light! Battery is not removable so you have to take your bike indoors to charge it, or do as I have done and buy an inverter for the car so it can charge up whilst folded and stored in the boot. Finally, the four bar power led is pretty poor at providing accurate power readings. I can see that a module is available that will allow accurate readings to your mobile via Bluetooth. I will probably buy this soon. Overall it's a super little space saving commuter bike for less than £500 and should I compare it with savings on taxi's, will pay for itself in 3-4 months.

Fantastic Bike!
I bought this bike Jan 2023. It was easy to assemble within 10mins. Charges quickly. I bike 8km a day, x5 days a week and I charge it once or twice a week. It folds easily and is quick- top speed depends on your weight but I reckon 15/20mph. I’m 110kg and it’s been a fantastic little bike. I would recommend checking that the tyres have been put on the correct way so they aren’t wearing the rims off and buying more expensive puncture proof tyres but aside from this would recommend to everyone. It could be improved with a louder horn and gears for when not using the electric. Great buy!

Dragged out customer service
After what I thought was going to turn out to be a positive experience it was not. The bike I recieved , despite being advertised as having pedal assist did not, I then thought maybe it was faulty and DYU replaced the bike for me, but unfortunately the replacement also suffered the same issue for me to believe it did not have pedal assist, only throttle assist, which on a positive note, works well but wanting to conserve battery I didn't want this to be my only option which is why I chose a bike with pedal assist. DYU offered to replace the bike with a different model instead of a refund, which I decided would be ok. Unfortunately after DYU agreeeing to the replacment bike, they decided to not honour it and after many months of excuses and delays, which included, not in stock, not stocking a particular model (even though agreed to replace with it), boxes being damaged and even stating that the ones in stock listed on amazon was a different seller (amazon confirmed this was untrue) also stating they have replacement stock and sale stock and the replacement stock had been sat around for some time so may not work. In the end I recieved a full refund after approximately 3 months. The quality of the bike was really good but the listing was not representative of the functions. I had hoped to continue with the DYU brand but after my customer service experience I will now spend my money elsewhere.

Don't buy this
I bought this bike a month ago, it is not as my expectation because of :- 1. It is not assists me while paddle. There is a paddle sensor but its not working. 2. When I put it on CHARGE, it makes loud noise. That is very annoying. 3. Battery is not that powerful, I need to put it on charge every day, But I only use to ride it for 45 minuets. I am very upset about this bike.

DYU model A1F Conclusions basiques: Correcte, sense pretensions.
