This is a high-strength ALA supplement that feels very clean and well dosed. The capsules are easy to take, and it’s reassuring to know it’s both water- and lipid-soluble. As expected, it’s not cheap, but Pure Encapsulations are one of the best brands when it comes to ingredient purity. The 07/2027 expiry is good, making this a confident purchase.

Opening the bottle, you are greeted with a very distinct, slightly sulfurous smell, but that is characteristic of Alpha Lipoic Acid and indicates it is the real deal. Despite the odour, the capsules themselves are tasteless once swallowed. I take these with food, usually lunch, to aid absorption. I have been using them to support my antioxidant intake and general cellular health. Physically, I haven't noticed any massive external changes, but I do feel a bit sharper. Importantly, they haven't caused any burning sensation in my throat or stomach, which can happen with lower-quality ALA. The capsule size is manageable. I like that it is both water and lipid-soluble, covering all bases. It feels like a high-grade supplement. I have noticed my urine smells slightly different, but that is a known side effect and shows the body is processing it. A solid addition to a health regimen.

This is a really great quality ALA supplement. I like this one for its purity and good dosage. The capsules are easy to swallow and gentle on my stomach, I haven’t noticed any negative side effects. Started taking this mainly for general antioxidant support and energy, after reading up on ALA and its potential benefits for blood sugar and nerve health. I trust Pure Encapsulations as a brand because they keep their ingredients clean – no fillers, weird coatings, or stuff my body doesn’t agree with. The 600mg dose is on the higher side, which works well for me, but I’d say if you’re new to ALA, maybe start with one capsule and see how you go. I take mine on an empty stomach in the morning, and I’ve had no side effects — no nausea, no jitteriness, and no aftertaste. Energy has felt a bit more steady, and my hands and feet, which sometimes get a bit tingly when I’m run down, have been less sensitive. Could be coincidence, but I’ll take it. Consuming something that contains nothing of any benefit, or worse, is not only a complete waste of money, but it is also a wasted opportunity to potentially improve one's health, or to help avoid an otherwise avoidable health problem. The latter is crucially important and, in my opinion, significantly outweighs the financial considerations. On this occasion, I was satisfied that there was credible evidence that the Pure Encapsulations Brand does contain Alpha Lipoic Acid ALA (Thioctic Acid) 600mg and in the quantity stated, and that any related test results were either credible, verifiable, or both. 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗜 𝗢𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀? In the short term, that is usually impossible to say, because few Supplements are likely to reveal any benefits over just a few days. The effect may take weeks, or even Months, or there may be no observable effect if it has helped to avoid a problem. Therefore, my main approach initially, has been to watch for any adverse effects and, in that respect, I can confirm that I have not noticed any from consuming the Alpha Lipoic Acid ALA 600mg Supplement made by Pure Encapsulations. 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗟𝗔 𝟲𝟬𝟬𝗺𝗴 𝟲𝟴𝗴 𝟲𝟬𝘅 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀? Yes, Pure Encapsulations' example of Alpha Lipoic Acid ALA 600mg is well presented and I found the contents in good condition and free from both tampering and general contamination. However, whilst Cap was not loose it is still easily removed. This means that, ultimately, the main protection relies upon just a single Seal beneath the Cap. I would therefore prefer to see some additional anti-tampering measures, such as an additional Seal around the Cap itself to confirm it has not been removed after manufacture.
