Givi me a break
I just couldn’t see spending the big bucks for the name brand. Especially when my intended use is only for trips. This is a very nice box, sturdy, nice finish, roomy. The mounting bracket is a nice heavy piece of steel. I mounted mine with a piece of sheet rubber between it and the rack of my BMW to prevent scratches. Now this was not perfect as it came. I had to take a razor blade and slightly shorten the rubber stops on the rack so that the hold down latch would catch without excessive force. I also had to trim a little plastic in the area of the lock because it was interfering with the swing of the lock when the latch handle was pushed fully down. I think this is what some of the other reviews were referring to when they said the lock was tricky or difficult to operate. Didn’t take long or much effort, just look for the problems and fix them. Now you can practically throw the box at the bike and have it latch on. Lock works just like you think it should. I haven’t wired the lights up yet because I’m still trying to figure out how CAN BUS lights work. I just may go for the 9v battery like other owners have done. Looking forward to some good trips this summer.

Okay box, will probably need some modification to fit your rack system.
Bought this box to put on a Ninja 250. I mainly purchased it to throw my gear in when I arrive at places. It fits my xl full-face helmet, gloves, and almost fits my jacket all at once. If I had a smaller jacket, it might fit everything. There's no way it will fit 2 full-face helmets, though, unless they're very small. It looks a little large for the bike, but nobody I know has commented on it. Installation was simple. It came with 4 bolts you feed down through your current mounting rack, as well as some horizontal brackets if you don't have a solid mounting plate. I'd recommend buying a few extra washers so there are washers on the top side of the bolts, not just the bottom as the instructions direct. Box sits on top of rack and "clicks" into place. Lock seemed fairly sturdy, it didn't want to come off easily. Ruggedness-wise, it's not amazing. I'm mostly concerned with the integrity of the singular weld which is all holds the box onto the frame. It looks sketchy, and while it hasn't failed and doesn't seem like many people have issues with failures, it makes me a little nervous. The plastic is not of amazing quality, but it's sufficient. If somebody wants to steal your box, however, it's not going to hold up to much abuse. The lock is another fault. The box has an odd latching system which holds it closed. A spring-latch, or even forgoing the lock and just using a regular padlock to hold the thing closed would have been preferable. It's just difficult enough to get everything closed to get on my nerves. You also have to tap the mechanism with your finger in order to get the key into the "lock" position, and I feel like if I tried to force it I'd break either the lock or the key. The LEDs are a nice touch, as the box is pretty big and might potentially obscure some people from seeing your taillights. It's fairly simple to wire it up to your brake-lights, you can use them as running lights or brake lights, but I feel that the LEDs are bright enough to be suitable for brake lights. They do not seem to have any brighten/dimming functions, so if you want running+brake lights you're going to have to get creative. Wiring them up was easy, they pre-drilled a tiny hole in the bottom, from which I ran along the mounting rack into the bike, and tapped into the brake light wiring. They're LEDs, so they barely draw any power and shouldn't mess with your normal brake lights. My future project for this box will be to find a way to also enable some kind of turn-signal functionality. I believe by using Diodes you could potentially have both brake light and turn signal functionality (obviously the brake lights would override the turn signals when stopping, and that may not be 100% blessed and legal, but it's close enough for me).

Looks great - seems to be good quality
I bought this for my 2022 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT. It looks good and seems to be of good quality. My medium helmet doesn't fit, but I'm ok with that because I didn't buy it for that reason. The mounting base fastened easily to the Pyramid luggage rack. I wired to the brake lights with a disconnect so I can remove the case easily. So far so good. Will update if I have any issues over time.

Not Bad At All!
I was hesitant to order this because I wasn't sure if this would actually work on my 2017 Moto Guzzi Stelvio or not. Seeing the pictures of the bracket and knowing what the rack mounts looked like on the bike, I figured with a little modification, it would work and I was right. You will have to flip the bracket upside down and measure two new holes you will have to drill to make it work. See the attached pictures for detailed info and measurements. I will do an update once I actually finish the installation which I will have time to do so next weekend. If you have a Stelvio (09-17) and liked the style, go for it! This is a pretty well made piece that didn't seem any different than the Givi box I have on my VStrom. It is like 30% bigger than the Givi box yet costs 30% less.

Trunk and added lights -
This trunk is exactly what I was looking for in a trunk that fit the bike and not overly large. Added run, turn, LED lights to the lights the box came with, and it worked perfectly. Got the LED lights from Amazon for $16.00. There are other lights that may be brighter, but these worked fine. Also purchased a 5-wire trailer hitch extension with flat plugs that had 6 feet of wire , and used it for the harness from the bike wire harness to the trunk. I used the lights that came on the trunk for brake lights then added the run , turn lights. I also added a lining in the trunk to help prevent my helmet from damage.

Does not fit my 2014 Honda Forza 300
The holes in the metal plate are just SLIGHTLY off, making it impossible to mount it on the bike.

Installed on a cruiser that had a passenger back rest and cargo shelf. I removed the backrest and installed the top box on the cargo shelf. If worked very well. The integrated backrest is a bit hard but will do. I might swap the backrest for a piece of leather covered foam later. UPDATE: The wires for the light needed to be resoldered. to avoid this, tape the wires down so they don't move around inside the box. Still love this top box and will probably buy another for my next bike. Haven’t tried to connect the lights yet. Before I do i’ll Have to rig a quick disconnect so I can easily remove the top box from the bike. Also haven’t decided if I want the lights to be brake or running there are only two wires so no combination light. Might modify it with a fitting for a 2 element light bulb or even LEDs. The box is big enough to hold one modular full face helmet and some gear. Doubt I could put two modular helmets in there. The box fits onto the mounting plate very well. There are rubber pads to keep it from vibrating. I like that locking the box keeps people from removing the box from the mount. For the price this thing is pretty darn good. Doesn’t look bad at all even leather luggage on the sides of my cruiser. There is a goofy sticker on the top of some blue cartoon character which came off cleanly.

A few word about the AUTOINBOX Rear Motorcycle Top Box I installed today on my 2020 Moto Guzzi V85TT Travel: The box is very nicely built, has a nice back rest, is good quality, reasonably roomy and was delivered in very short order. My overall impression having installed it, is that it is quite reasonably priced for what you get. But there are a few things you should know before ordering yours: The locking mechanism combines locking the box on the cradle AND locking the lid. The key cannot be removed from the lock unless the lid is locked and the box is locked on its mounting base. That's a bummer because when running around town it would be nice not to need the key to open the lid each and every time. The locking mechanism does allow you to remove the key when the lid is not secured BUT there is no other way of keeping the lid from opening while underway. Bummer!! Mounting the box onto the motorcycle was a bit of a chore. The installation kit is quite generic as the box is meant to be installed on any moto scooter or motorcycle. The hardware is presumably planned for all occasions but the M8 bolts are way too long and have to be cut down to fit the available space on the back of the V85TT. They interfere with the tail light. The nuts didn't fit smoothly so I had to use an M8 tap to chase the threads. Overall, just a minor inconvenience. The chore was taking the panier mounting frame off to install the top box mounting plate and then cutting down the M8 mounting bolts so the assembly would fit back on the bike; an assortment of hardware of various lengths would be nice! Lastly the top box comes with a pair of 12 volts LED stop lights wired to a 24 inch low voltage wire. Great! The top box is designed to be removable. Unlock the box, then press the red button at the rear of the box and it separates from its mounting bracket and the motorcycle. Awesome! The problem is how do you connect these LED tail lights to the motorcycle rear wiring harness and then maintain the ability to easily remove the top box. The manufacturer does not provide a solution.....so like me, you will have to come up with your own. In closing, the top box is great overall, is quite rooming, has a nice smooth finish but could use a more complete installation kit including an assortment of M8 bolts of various length and a water proof wiring option that carries through the wall of the case and is easily disconnected.

Truly fantastic luggage/ storage for any motorcycle or scooter but its on the expensive side.. I can say this should be selling for approximately 120 to 150 to be fair , but at 250 somebody is making one heck of a profit.. with that being said... it is very good quality compared to those other cheap hard plastic ones , update:22/09/22, just paid a garage 160$ to hook up the lights and the damn things don't work!!! They got electricity 12v up to the lights but they don't work!! Maybe because it's only a 3 inch long of cheap crap led strip the really cheap stuff !! How disheartening! Although its very roomy and very sturdy construction and looks fabulous still the lights don't work what a shame!!! Buy the one without lights and save the extra money... Still can't get over the price we have to pay for it though... its borderline criminal in my books to hose folks like that but thats just me and what can we do? We live in today's greedy af world!

Just like other reviewers, I found this somewhat finicky to install. I ended up not using any of the mounting hardware, and jimmied something way better for my 2021 CB500X. With gas at 2 bucks a litre, I'll be using this for grocery runs! Stores my helmet and other small stuff nicely so I don't have to haul it everywhere. And it comes off easily for when I want to throw on my soft saddlebags. Might be pricey for what you get, but I still love it.

You are getting real great value for your dollar. This item features a very spacious cargo space; a two-toned colour scheme (semi-gloss black with an appealing shiny centre stripe); a solid locking mechanism; LED lighting that looks great day or night; a large, thick, stamped, somewhat triangular metal base to which the unit is attached; it is WATERPROOF ; and the unit is detachable which then serves as a suitcase. I manufactured my own rails to which I attached the base plate and then the trunk (i.e. trunk to base plate to rails). It has a very attractive design which tends to turn your head for a second look. All in all it looks extremely attractive on my 2013 SPYDER LTD 3-WHEELED MOTORCYCLE!!
