The chain is durable enough, not jewelry store quality but enough to get you by for a while. The screw top is tight, not water proof but secure so it functions as expected. It's a functional little ornate piece that I'm glad I came across, money well spent.

This product is literally a lifesaver for me period I carry my emergency heart medication in this period I've had to use it several times period the fact that I can open it up and it is around my neck and put the tiny tablet in my finger and directly into my mouth without searching for a bottle in a purse or other bag is a life-saving moment for me. I have not wore this into the shower or anything like that But it is pretty tight when you screw on the top to the bottom. I assume if you went and got a small washer from a hardware store that you could wear it in the water if needed. I absolutely love mine and when I wear it to work. It fits perfectly underneath of a blouse so you can't even see it. My team at work knows that I wear it so that if I am unable to assist myself. The price was so reasonable I feared the quality would be low but it is well made. Solid, no flaws in mine that I can see and seals well. It would take a lot for it to unscrew it without trying to. I do check occasionally to see if it is tight and it always is. I am a Buddhist and am using this for my husband's ashes. I am pleased with this purchase.
