Calculated Industries 1194 Air Shim XL Inflatable Pry Bar and Leveling Tool; 500 LB Load Holding Rating; Contractor-Grade Alignment Pump Wedge

I checked the product reviews for this product on Amazon and did some outside research on it as well. It was very highly rated and the price was very reasonable. I noted the 2- and 3-star reviews and discounted them as either people not using the product as it was designed, or other issues that had very little to do with the actual working of the product. I used it today to lift my 350-pound refrigerator so I could put movers slide pads underneath the front height-adjustment posts so I could move the fridge to clean behind it without either scratching my hardwood kitchen floor or more importantly, snapping off the adjustment posts. It worked like a charm. One thing I would recommend is that if you are using it for a heavy object (and this product is cleared to life 500 pounds but not more than that), I found it much easier to use my foot on the bulb pump rather than squeezing it with my hand. If I was asked one thing to suggest that could improve the product I would recommend a longer tube. The one that it comes with is rather short. It wasn’t a problem though, it was just tight to access the squeeze bulb once the inflatable pad was under the fridge. But. . . I had no issues and would recommend this product without reservation. Especially for the price.

Used this to lift a washer-dryer combo (ventless with a heat pump). Just enough to slide some felt feet underneath to make it easier to move around. Good quality and was able to lift the combo when the big box store version could not. Inflation is slow because of the hand pump, but it lifted hundreds of pounds, so that's acceptable. My hands needed the workout anyway.

I used this air pump to re-level a 50 gallon rimless aquarium that I had spent 6 months aquascaping, gluing pieces of rocks together, among other things that caused it to go off-balance again. Needless to say, I couldn’t just empty the tank to re-level it, so I had to find something that could lift a lot of weight and do it smoothly. I estimated this tank to be approximately 600 lbs+ filled. I was planning on emptying 3/4 of the tank to fix the level, but due to shrimp getting stranded in the higher portions of the scape, I could not empty more than about 40-50% of the water. I was nervous because I had experienced a cracked tank in the past and did not want a repeat! I needed something that could hold the corner of the stand up, but do it smoothly, not to slosh the water and cause more strain on the glass. I’m relieved to say that the process was actually pretty easy! The first picture is of the tank, the second two pictures show the level being off just the wrong amount. The last 3 show a perfect leveling of all sides after the job was completed. (I didn’t include a picture of the back glass, but it is just as perfect). The only regret I have is that I didn’t have this tool back when I was trying to level the stand at the start. The stand comes with screws underneath that allow you to level it, but nothing to hold the corners up while you’re doing the leveling. It would be nice if this air pump was came with a wedge like some of the other brands, but fortunately the flattened bag was easy to slip into the slightly less than 1.5” gap under the stand. I accidentally knocked off the pumping once, but this did not cause the air to release from the bag and it was easy to put back on, so I suspect this is part of the design. The air released gradually and smoothly when pushing the air release button. All in all I highly recommend this air pump!

I’m using this to raise the front of my freeze drier when I’m defrosting it. It works great! I was using little hand jacks that had a small ‘foot’ and little lip. One small bump and they would come out from under the machine, which is a few hundred pounds- needless to say, it was a bad setup and could have damaged my machine. I have much more confidence with this ‘jack’ than what I was using prior to getting it. I gave four stars because the bulb to pump it up is a little hard to pump, but I understand if it was cheaper, it wouldn’t work as well. But it is a consideration for some.

It's like having an extra set of hands. Especially when you are mounting a heavy tire. Just put a 2x4 over the air shim for extra height. the valve adjustment works perfectly as well. Inflation speed is great too.

This inflatable shim worked great! I was able to lift my 330lb refrigerator with about 150 lbs of food in it just high enough to place a furniture slider under the feet. There is no way to do that by hand and I had to step on the plunger to get it high enough - but it did the job!

Pretty impressed. I have a 500+ lb heat pump on my roof and needed to jack it up an inch to put anti-vibration pads underneath the 4x4's it is mounted on. Two of these did the trick. This along with some 2x4 pieces and shims and stuff, was able to go corner by corner. Looking forward to using them for other things.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, great product highly recommend this product

Work as described. I was able to lift washer and dryer by placing some glider pads. Cheap way if you work alone when lifting heavy stuff.
