I have several pairs which I trade off between hiking boots, sneakers, and dress shoes. I have arthritis in one of my big toe joints, and cannot tolerate bending the joint very much under pressure. I was surprised on a recent airline flight to find that the carbon fibers are conductive enough to set off the walk-through and hand-held metal detectors. So much for being over 80 and not having to take my shoes off....Not a problem. I won't wear the insoles until I get through security.

So far, I have been able to avoid toe joint surgery by wearing these. Suggested by my Podiatrist. My Internal Medicine doctor said that he was going to get some for his wife to try. I have many pair in use in different shoes and slippers. Two in a pack. Both can be used in a R or L foot shoe because they are flat. I only use one on the right foot. I cannot even tell it is in by shoe until I take it out and have increased pain.

I am using these to help with Hallux Limitus and while my toe does feel better with these in my shoes even with brand new pediatrist recommended orthotics on top of it after about and hour of walking the balls of my feet feel like I am walking barefoot on cement. Perhaps using these with a more padded insole might help but then I don’t see how it would actually fit in your shoe. As it is with the set up I have I have to loosen my shoes all the way in order to get my foot still in them and they still feel more snug but I would like. Not sure this is avoidable, but I think from now on I will stick to trying to find more rigid shoes to begin with, and avoid having to use inserts like these.

I used two, and it was still too flimsy for really supporting my foot. I wanted to stiffen my shoes after taking off a walking boot.

Ordered 1 pair got 1 insert Said they would send another one and as of today have not seen anything. Pretty expensive for just one foot.

This helped to add strength to the sole of my shoes which is what I needed it to do

Age related arthritis in toes, how exciting. Doctor recommended these to prevent my toes from bending and hurting. Very thin, very stiff, fit fine under my Superfeet insoles. They don't affect my normal walking either.
