We are home schooling our seven year old great - grandson. We bought the magnetic sand to use in experiments with magnets. He loved doing the lessons with the magnets and magnetic sand. I recommend this product for anyone needing iron powder.

My daughter wanted to do an experiment with magnets and the fillings worked very well. Good strength. And very educational.

This was a hit as a stocking stuffer (with magnets) with my 8 year old who is into science. However, be warned that the powder is messy and the bottle opens up easily (was all over the inside of our suitcase from transport home).

The iron powder was mildly magnetic. The thing to keep in mind is that this is not rare earth magnetism but is regular magnetic iron. This is exactly what I needed to make a layer for magnets to adhere to .
