It's a COMFORTABLE car seat on office chair wheels.
Bought it intending to make a very low to the ground rocking chair for gaming, but covid came around so I gave it to my dad so he could work at home. I think he would have opted to go into work without it. My only complaint is that it doesn't have armrests as comfortable as a recliner, but how is that even a complaint? It's an indestructible office chair not something for taking naps on (even that's debatable). I bought the camo one because it was significantly cheaper. Rightfully so, it's ugly as sin, but function is greater than form amiright?

Garbage Product
Here is the thing. From the very start of purchase this product was not a good buy, but I tried to soldier on. First day of assembly the piston does not function properly. You could raise the seat with nothing on it, but applying any degree of pressure the chair would sink to its lowest position. After attempting to get in touch with Vertagear's product support and waiting for over two weeks with no response (Eventually I did get a response, inquiry started late August to finally hear back early October.) But it was at this stage more of an inconvenience to attempt to send it back than just deal with It. Chair was comfortable enough that it felt like it would be a small price to pay. Amazon's terrific customer care even supplied a discount and all felt right. Boy was I wrong. Skip ahead to February, a mere five months after purchase and a new issue has arisen. I lean back in my chair and it immediately reclines to its lowest position. The reclining mechanism is solely on the right side of the back rest. Taking it apart, I find that it is a solid steel construction. However the teeth that allow it lock in different positions are so narrowly together they have acted as a saw grinding away the peg that is meant to lock into them. So now the seat cannot support any weight without immediately reclining into bed mode. The spring is still solid, but without the peg the chair is useless. Other gripes. The points of articulation in all of the handles were flimsy and constantly shifting. You could not latch them into place once you found a comfortable spot. Though the handles had buttons which were to release the catches to allow movement, they seemed to simply be for show. Pillows provided for lumbar support were always in odd spots and hard to make sure they wouldn't shift. Being tall, the neck support pillow was useless or for show, unsure. Full conclusion, this product should be avoided at all costs. Company has nearly nonexistent customer service. Chair is constructed cheaply for the price paid.

High quality and highly adjustable. Sleek design. Perfect for Big and Tall. Fast delivery. (Virtus[dot]pro version)
First, for those wondering... this is indeed the Rev.2 version of the chair which is the latest as of the date of this review. If you are reading this, it is likely you came here from a "Top 10 Best Big and Tall Gaming Chairs" list with this chair being the second highest rated weight limit next to the DX racer Tank series which is 450 lbs with this chair being 440 lbs. I chose this chair for styling reasons over price.I recommend heading over to YouTube and checking out the reviews for both chairs to help with your purchasing decisions. Now to the details... Delivery was made on time (within 4 days). Price is on point with what the manufacturers site advertises.Chair sits higher than standard office chairs so be aware of the chair's height dimensions to avoid ramming your knees in to your desk surface. I use a L-curved Bekant Ikea desk which is height adjustable, so this worked out for me. I also purchased the DX racer footstool that I linked in this review for moments when I want to recline and relax. Black and white matched the Orange\White\Black Vertagear chair I purchased. Armrest are highly adjustable. They can be raised and lowered like most chairs but these also allow you to slide out and retract the armrest to bring the resting surface closer or further away from your desk. Also can be swiveled inwards and outwards depending on your comfort preference. The chair's design is super sleek and material is soft to touch yet firm. Perforated cushion allows for breath-ability during heated gaming sessions. Looks great in any gamer space or office area. Overall, I highly recommend the chair. I would caution if you are well under 6'0" to be aware that you'll feet will likely dangle so again... be aware of the chair's dimensions before buying. Don't Believe All The Specs
So I had an SL5000 and the Seat Mechanism broke after 3 years and the warranty was for 2 years. The mechanism did not actually break but a weld broke, which made the chair unusable. The SL5000 is a great chair, but runs out of stock a lot. Wen on the Vertagear site, they said this was a new option and a step up. Well I would not necessarily say a step up. Customer service told me many things between the SL5000 & the PL6000 are interchangeable. The seat mechanism on both can be switched, and other than chair/seat design, they are same specs. The Seat Mechanism on the PL6000 is new, stronger 1 piece system, no welds, that is why it can hold up to 360 lbs. The SL5000 is rated at 260 lbs, I am 210 and the welds still broke. So the Seat Mechanism is stronger, but it comes at a price. The PL6000 sits several inches higher than the SL5000. This specs say good for people 5'9" - 6'8". I would suggest you do not buy this unless you are over 6 ft tall. The PL6000 does not fit under my desk, when the SL5000 did. I do not feel I can sit right in the PL6000, My legs barely fit under my desk, but to have my feet on the ground, my legs are at an downward angle, not at a good sitting angle, which is giving me butt cramps. Placing a shoebox under my feet fixes this, but then my legs do not go under my desk. Other bad features. The seat back of the PL6000 is same specs as the SL5000, but to create a different design they removed the holes at the top of the seat to fit the lumbar support through. So now the PL6000 has no place to anchor the support and constantly falls. The directions to place it on the chair has the straps gone and just says to add the support, but not where. Where the pics show they have them sitting on the side of the chair, they do not stay. If you touch the support or move it at all, they fall down. The Only way I found to fix this is to feed the lumbar support straps through the straps of the head rest. Not Ideal The seat itself is not better. They speak of more support, but very stiff and not comfortable. The PL6000 seat is the same size as the SL5000, to make it seam wider, the SL5000 has sides to hold you in place like a racing seat, the PL6000 got rid of the hard sides and they just taper up at an angle, but not really wider. I am just guessing this makes it more comfortable for a wider person, which I am not. With that being said customer support said I can order a new mechanism for my SL5000 so I can fix it. I am trying to go through that. I would say if you are not over 6 ft tall, not over 250 lbs and not wide, definitely stick to the SL5000

Easy to assemble. Hard to sit in.
So.... First off it came broken. The crank for the rocker tension was broken off. It's just a thin plastic tube with a crank on the end.... Clever, but flimsy. That alone would be fine.... The tension came perfect for me I doubt I would have changed it much. However, the hight adjustment wouldn't work either. The lever is there, but it doesn't budge so the chair won't go up or down. The other lever to lock in a positionworks great and there's an acceptable selection of angles. Broken aside..... It's uncomfortable. The seat is a little smaller than I would have hoped. The bucket of the seat at the front dig into my legs. May be prevented if I could lower the chair so my feet are actually touching the ground, but it's still too high too far in front for a big boy chair. The arm rest is the cherry on the top. It can move in every direction but comfortable. There's a double lip on the inside where I would rest my arm. It nearly cuts into me. The outside of the arm rest has a lovely comfortable contour, but where my arms in fact actually rest feels like a door frame. That wouldn't be AS bad if the arm rest was soft. But it isn't. It's a thick vinyl on hard foam. Probably durable over time but sure isn't "soft" Given other reviewers' reports of crappy support from the company in not even going to bother trying to get it fixed through them. Amazon refund and back to finding a new chair.......

good fit for a wide frame 6' 350lb guy
To start, the "room of choice" delivery option kept me from having to lug this beast up the narrow stairs of my apt building. Delivery driver called ahead of time to ensure I was available, which gave me the opportunity to talk him through my sometimes-confusing front door address location. I also liked being able to track the delivery in real time. Well worth the extra $ in my opinion. Packaged nicely to prevent any damage. Assembly would have been super easy if all of the bolt holes had been aligned properly. I'd call that a manufacturing near miss. One of four bolt holes on both the seat mechanism mount to seat base, and the seat back to base reclining brackets, were slightly misaligned. The first was easy to work through since I could see the holes and threads. the second, not so much. I spent nearly 1/2 hour messing around trying all I could to get things aligned. Finally, I had to power through and use force to get the screw to start and tighten. I was afraid it might be cross threaded or pull the threads out of the hole. Fortunately, the material was heavy-duty enough to withstand this treatment and I finally had it completely assembled (only used what was provided in the box). After about a month of constant use, the product is doing well. I like the adjustability of the arm rests, but not the design of the pad. The 3 outer edges of the arm rest pad are tapered nicely. The inner edge, however, doesn't have a taper, but a squared drop with a slight groove. Whether this was an intentional design to give it a certain appearance or a manufacturing misstep, it makes my forearms uncomfortable when resting and scratches when sliding them into place. I don't consider it a deal-breaker, but might become irritated enough to cut this edge into a taper by myself in the future. All of the adjustment options are great but would have liked to see more tension available in the rocking tilt. The lumbar cushion is a perfect fit but the adjustment straps have to be intertwined with the neck cushion strap in order to stay in place, which causes the neck cushion to pull downward. I would also comment that the neck cushion isn't quite thick enough for some of my resting positions. Overall, even after all of my complaints, I am glad I bought this chair. I've suffered through the cheap desk chairs available at box stores for far too long. I've researched some really nice heavy-duty gaming chairs but just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for my first attempt into the heavy-duty products. The price I paid for this chair and the satisfaction I have with this product after the first month of use give me cause enough to this product my 2 thumbs up๐๐๐stamp of approval.

DO NOT BUY - Fine product USELESS customer service.
Bought the char and loved it... for a YEAR. I work from home and spend a lot of non-work time at my desk as well so I needed a heavy duty chair that could handle 8-16 hours a day and not blink. And this chair did it in spades. Super comfortable, adjustable, everything. Then it all went wrong. The back support went a little wonky at first, would only latch in the very upright position. Ok, not the end of the world. Then the seat tilt mechanism broke. Ok, still not the end of the world because the chair has a wonderful 2(or 3 depending on where you look) warranty. Customer service is _ATROCIOUS_ Contacted them via webchat and was told they would reply with the warranty claim form I needed. Nope. Called 2 days later and they finally sent it. I submitted the form less than an hour and was told they would get back to me by the end of the day. I had to reach out to them nearly a week later to check on status, and it hadn't even been reviewed. CS Reviewed it, and approved it while I was talking to him (so it's not a complicated process), was told I would be contacted by the end of the day with an approval number and shipping info... nope. 2 days later, contacted them and he got final approval while we talked. I was told I'd have shipping info by the end of the day... you guessed it. 2 days later, no contact. I reach out again and am told that some of the parts I need are back ordered. This would have been nice to know. So what are we going to do about it? You guessed it, "someone will get back to you to discuss options" by the end of the day... You may see the pattern by this point. So here I sit in a crappy Staples office chair with a bad back contacting CS yet again to get this resolved. Who wants to bet me that this is not the end of my story. Don't be fooled. Do not buy from Vertagear. You will regret it.

Guess it's my turn to deal with customer service
This is a day one review, I will amend it as things progress. Overall I would give the chair a 5 star review. I find the chair to be very comfortable so far, I spent most of the day in it yesterday and never really experienced any discomfort. The only thing I would like is for it to go a little lower. My major complaint and the reason for the 3 star review is the lumbar pillow doesn't have straps like the chair pictured and everyone I have seen in YouTube reviews. It flops down every time I get up and it's pretty annoying. I had a little difficulty installing the back on one side I got one bolt in and couldn't get the other one in. The hole was about half the diameter off from the braces on the bottom. I fought with it for a bit and was able to make it work eventually but I though I was going to have to elongate the hole. I have to give Vertagear props for including a T-Handle and not some crappy allen wrench for assembly, that was a nice touch. The instructions are very easy to follow, could use a little larger font but maybe my old eyes are going bad. All in all I hope this chair last for a while, I may buy one for my office at work. The $750 Hon they bought me is killing my butt after a year. 03/19/20 Vertagear responded to me within a couple of days and sent me a cushion with straps that just got here today. 12/12/20 I've been working at home since the Shanghai Shivers started to take off. I spend at least 10 hours a day in this chair and have had no problems with it. About once a month I'll have to go on a little walk about to get some blood flowing. I couldn't be happier with this chair. I will buy one again if it fails.
