BUY THIS! I have a 4 year old that picked up the habit of biting her nails from a friend at daycare. She began biting them as far down as she could. It also caused the skin to peel around the ends. It looked painful, and the skin and nail remnants felt so rough and scratchy. I cut my daughter’s fingernails the same day each week, and every week there became less and less to cut. After about 4 or 5 months of this, no matter what I tried, she would not stop. Then I bought this stuff. Game changer! I tried it first because I try almost everything I give my kids. It stayed on for a week, and tasted super bitter the entire time. I found it even kept me from snacking on finger foods so much because just touching the nail to my lips still tasted bad. When I tried it on her, she initially tried to act like it didn’t taste that bad the first time she put her finger to her mouth. That lasted all of about 5 seconds before she asked for something to drink to try to wash the taste out. She immediately drank an entire cup of juice! After the first week of it being applied, I went to cut her nails and WOW! There were actually nails to cut!!! She didn’t bite them all week! I’m so pleased! Not sure how long it’s gonna take to create the constantly habit without the polish, but we will get there. This stuff truly works!

My 4 year old would not stop biting his nails and sucking his thumb. It’s been going on for years. We’ve tried a bunch of of different products but this…this is the winner! It taste terrible and it stays on for a LONG time regardless of how many times you wash your hands. It also dries within seconds so it won’t get in their clothes if they try to wipe it off.

Bought to use with my five year old that sucked on her index finger. The first night was rough, because she would put her finger in her mouth while sleeping abd the taste would make her gag and cry. But that was it. Less than 24 hours using it and she no longer sucks on her finger. I 1000% recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR CHILD. I tested this junk on my own nails about 24 hours before applying it to my child. I can confirm, it's nasty stuff and leaves an unpleasant long-lasting aftertaste. I applied a very small amount (just a tiny little dot) to my 3 year old's nails because of repetitive, persistent nail biting. I gave it a couple of minutes and confirmed it was dry. The first time he put his thumb in his mouth he immediately expressed frustration with the bad taste. The second time he did it, about 5 seconds went by and then he projectile vomited all over the carpet. I cleaned him up and in about 20 minutes he became lethargic and fell asleep on the couch for a few hours, which he NEVER does during the afternoon. I had to monitor him while he slept to make sure he was okay. He woke up cranky and still lethargic and refuses to eat or drink water. We decided to remove this stuff from his nails and it won't come off. We tried nail polish remover, soap and water, and rubbing alcohol (both on his nails and my own). NONE OF IT WORKED. The varnish is gone but the bitter, sickening taste is still there. The guilt I feel for subjecting my child to this experience is immense. I do not recommend this product for children under any circumstances. DO NOT USE THIS ON YOUR CHILD.

I'm not giving this a bad rating just because it didn't work for my daughter. Nothing... and I mean nothing worked to get her to stop sucking her finger. We had to do something a little unconventional... lol. But I tested it on myself and it's disgusting. So I'm sure it would work on the right kiddo.

My daughter (4) was a big thumb sucker. Did it more out of habit to sleep and calm herself down. All it took was one night of this and she stopped sucking her thumb! Highly recommend to anyone who is faced with the daunting task of getting your child to stop sucking their thumb!

The application is easy but didn’t stop my two year old. I realize the tastebuds might not be fully developed but she recognized it tasted bad and me too, unfortunately. We are trying the physical guards to see if they work better.

My 2 year old was sucking the thumb and I noticed this had an effect on teeth development, so I tried this product. I put it on while sleeping. After deveral tries this bad habit just stoped. It only took a couple of weeks. The first time, I tried it on myself and I noticed it taste bad, but it also give this bad taste to all the food that touched my thumb, so I only used it for this short time. Keep in mind, this will have an effect on your child's appetite and will be more picky on food choices.

I don't normally write reviews but want to encourage others. Kid is 4 years old and had a crazy mouth fixation. If they weren't biting their nails they were resting with their hands around their mouth somewhere somehow. This immediately stopped that behavior and they slipped up a few times but now after using it for two weeks daily I stopped and its been over a week with the nails looking very healthy and no more hand near the mouth. Help your kid out, frame it that this helps the nails grow out healthy not that its a deterrent. Hope this helps someone out there on the fence!

A literal miracle cure! I did one application of this polish on all my daughter's fingers and within 48 hours she stopped sucking her thumb! Insane that it worked as she has been addicted to thumb sucking since a baby.

Awesome product! My daughter stopped suck within 2 weeks of use. Hard to watch your child struggle with the process but we'll worth it. We are hand sucking free lol
