If so, what is the best way to wash them?** A: Looking at mine right now, I would say spot clean only. It’s attached to metal, like an umbrella. Spot cleaning would be the safest way from the looks of it. **Q: Will these prevent fruit flies and gnats?** A: Not for fruit flies and gnats. The holes are big enough for gnats and fruit flies to get in. **Q: Do you think these will blow over in the wind? Hosting an outdoor party in early fall.** A: I used them for an outdoor function and there was a steady breeze and they didn't blow over ( the metal frame helps to weight the cover down) however on a windy day say anything above 5 miles per hour steadily they would likely blow over. **Q: How do I close these? I cant figure it out!** A: I finally figured this out, but the other answers left me baffled. I needed to gently pull out the metal supports to flip them in the other direction. ## Frequently Bought Together - Large and Tall 17x17 Pop-Up Mesh Food Covers Tent Umbrella for Outdoors, Screen Tents, Parties Picnics, BBQs, Reusable and Collapsible Food Tents - 6 Pack - Fly Fans for Tables, Fly Fan Outdoor Indoor Keep Flies Away, Table Top Fly Fan Fly Spinner with Holographic Blades, Fly Deterrent for Picnic, Restaurant, Party, Home, BBQ (4 Pack) - Fly Fans for Tables, Rechargeable Fly Fan Table Top Fan with LED Light, Fly Spinner with Soft Holographic Blades for Picnic, Restaurant, Party, Home, and BBQ (4 Pack) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.is/products/44400525-pop-up-mesh-food-covers-17-x-17-in-white](https://www.desertcart.is/products/44400525-pop-up-mesh-food-covers-17-x-17-in-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Iceland* *Store origin: IS* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
