Rich Flavor and Great Value
Yuban Dark Roast Bold Ground Coffee is a fantastic everyday brew. The flavor is smooth, bold, and full‑bodied without being bitter, making it perfect for those who enjoy a strong cup that’s still easy to drink. The aroma is rich and inviting, filling the kitchen as it brews. The 25.3 oz canister is generous, keeping me stocked for weeks, and the freshness holds up well from the first scoop to the last. It works great in both drip machines and pour‑over setups, delivering consistent quality every time. Overall, this coffee offers excellent taste, reliable quality, and great value—an ideal choice for dark roast lovers.

Good product
Really great coffee, absolutely no bitterness. Can actually reheat and still tastes great. And what a great price!

Dark, smooth and the best tasting of the major pre-ground coffee tubs
I have been a loyal Yuban drinker for many, many years now, and I was so bummed that my local grocery store stopped carrying the dark roast (the only kind I buy). After slogging through some tubs of Folgers, I decided to look on Amazon. And OF COURSE they carry Yuban, and for less than what I had been paying retail at the grocer. I like my coffee strong enough to slap the taste out of your mouth, and the Yuban dark roast makes a fine cup of black ink coffee. It's smoother than the other major brands' dark roast offerings, allowing me to (literally) use somewhere around a cup and a quarter/half of grounds to make a single pot. One thing I do truly love is the ability to set up a subscription, so that I never run out (quite the contrary, I often miss the window to skip, so it's nothing to have 6 tubs of coffee on top of my refrigerator. I have several subscriptions to stuff that I don't want to be out of, and this not only saves money, it allows me-a person who would lose to a goldfish in a game of memory-to not need to run to the store as soon as they open because I'm out of coffee (or toilet paper, or my husband's Monster drinks, or puppy treats, etc).

Great coffee, not so great price
Love the coffee and it was reasonably priced at one point. I am looking for other options now that it is no longer a cost effective option.

Container is difficult for arthritic hands
This Yuban dark roast coffee was better than I expected. I use pour-over brewing, 2 tablespoons per 6 oz water. The result is coffee fairly dark-roast tasting, smooth and above my “brown water”expectations. My mother drank coffee all day. She liked Yuban, even when she moved from peculator to instant. But, for me, one 18 oz cup is all I want daily, and I enjoy a top quality experience. I am going back to the premium dark roast brands. One thing to consider if you have arthritic hands, carpel tunnel or any other issue that affects your grip: the lid on the Yuban jar is 6” diameter, about the width of my hand with fingers extended. Screwing and unscrewing the lid is very cumbersome for me. (I dropped the container first time I tried to open it, losing half the contents on my floor.) There is a handle of sorts on the container, but it is formed by indentation of the solid surface so not a handle that allows fingers to “hook” under. The weight is thus difficult to hold with impaired grip. The lid issue means I would need to transfer the coffee to a different, manageable container. To sum up: I think Yuban makes a “decent” dark roast cup of coffee, nothing to write home about, but is a bargain. The container is difficult for anyone with grip problems.

I have tried the Yuban medium roast coffee earlier, but comparatively this dark roast is good. It goes very well with fresh milk. This coffee is strong and rich in taste..
