Look no further. . . you've found it! These things REALLY WORK! After SUFFERING with regular aluminum flagpole rotating rings, I GAVE UP & bought these (at twice the price of the plain ones). Our flagpole is mounted on the front of the house, so it's important that the 3' x 5' flag look nice at all times. Mounted at a 45 degree angle, tangles were VERY frequent (3 to 5 times per day!). Our variable wind caused the flag to wrap itself around the flagpole, (sometimes 4 or 5 revolutions). Even though they were WELL MADE, the plain aluminum rings just weren't doing the job. I had to use a long pole to untangle the flag several times/day. It was tiresome & very frustrating. I tried everything to get the plain rings to work: "as-is" out of the box or lubed with graphite, WD-40, oil, or two different kinds of auto grease. Nothing worked. After struggling for over a year, it was definitely time for Plan B. A different DESIGN was needed. After putting these on the flagpole, I anxiously waited. Well, the results are as STARK as the difference between night and day! After 5 FULL MONTHS of use, I have had to untangle the flag ONLY 2 or 3 times TOTAL (rather than 3 to 5 times/DAY with the junk rings). And, it was just the tip of the flag which hung over the flagpole. Please note: at NO TIME did the flag wrap itself around the flagpole multiple times like it did when the standard/plain rings were used. And, these rings are just as good now as when I first put them up! They rotate very easily and smoothly-- that's why they WORK. These rings have stainless steel BEARINGS which makes all the difference in the world! NO lubrication ever needed. . . perfect right out of the box. These rings WORK SO WELL I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!! Don't WASTE YOUR MONEY (like I did!) on plain aluminum flagpole rings. BUY these because they WORK. They LAST. THEY REALLY ARE WORTH THE MONEY!

Absolutely worth the price not only quality made but most importantly after one year in service they have prevented 99.9% of flag tangle/ wrap around the flag pole

My first impression, when unboxing this product, was these were a quality item and my money was well spent. I liked the fact they were made from solid aluminum and had actual ball bearings to make the rotation of the flag on the pole smooth and tangle free. I immediately replaced the old with the new and felt relieved that I would no longer have to untangle my flag on a daily basis. To my dismay I was still having to untangle my flag every day. As you can see from the photo I supplied, this is how my flag looked everytime I came home from work. Or everytime I left in the morning for work. I am still using them because they are better than the cheap plastic ones I was using, but only slightly so. August 31, 2019: Amended Review. Since my initial review I have since discovered the issue with the spinners. The supplied screws were simply too long. They stuck out too far after tightening the spinners to the wooden flag pole. The edge of the flag was getting caught on the screw head, creating weight and friction on the bearing, causing the flag to wrap around the pole. I corrected the issue by cutting off the screw head flush with the body of the spinner. I have experienced no further issues. The flag flies freely and proudly, as it is intended to do.

These Non Tangle Flagpole Swivels work great when you know what the trick is to get them to work properly.? The instructions specifically say which direction to mount the swivels on the pole. I installed them as per the instructions. They worked great for 2 days. After that, the flag started wrapping and twisting itself around the flagpole. I constantly had to go outside and unwrap it. The swivels didn’t work any better than the original plastic ones! I double checked the instructions to see if I overlooked a step. That wasn't the case. I installed them correctly. I tried everything, including re-adjusting the swivels to either make them closer or further apart from each other. I gave the bearings a shot of WD40. Nothing helped - it still got twisted. I finally solved the problem by turning the swivels in the opposite direction that the instructions said to. Eureka! That did the trick! They're working perfectly now. One other issue I have is that the size of the swivels won't allow the flag to fit or slide over them. It takes a little more time and effort to change flags, but well worth it. Far less than what I used to spend with the original plastic swivels. The product itself is quality made to last forever. It's heavy duty/commercial construction is far better than those cheap and poorly made imports on the market. This is an American company manufacturing a great product, here in the United States. I highly recommend them!

These cost much more than the plethora of cheap looking imported plastic junk. I was hesitant, at first, to spend so much on something that I could have gotten for much much cheaper but I'm glad I decided to spend the extra money because it has been well worth it. You get what you pay for! Not only is this a great product but they even recommend a specific size and material for the flag pole - I had some ideas for making a flag pole but scrapped them in favor of Stanwood's suggestion: 3/4" copper pipe. It looks very nice - pictures wouldn't do this setup any justice - and it has held up very well. We've had some pretty decent winds here, as expected, and these are working out great. Highly recommended.

As others have posted...the weight of the flag is critical and in there is the issue no where could I find what the recommended flag weight should be for these devices to work. I also purchased a new FMAA cert. flag approx. 3x4 but it's not heavy enough and it's not a cheap $10 flag either...The free spinning design is just not free spinning enough...I guess you need a 10 lb flag. The quality of the device is good and the price reflects that...It's been about 14 days and I have had to unwrap it at least 10 times. So I am disappointed it does not work any better than what I had before which was the kind that the flag had a plastic tube that it spins on. Update: I read on another post to lower the top spinner about an inch, this gives a little slack as the flag hangs...after doing this it appears to be working much better. I am changing my review to 4 stars. Suggestion to the manufacture: things like flag weight, different placement of spinners etc. should be included with the product as things try to improve performance. The instructions that were provide had very little.

The heading about says it all. I've experienced only a few times a month when the flag wraps around the pole but when it does, it's easy to grab a corner of the flag and disentangle it. I contacted Stanwood and they suggested to use a 3-In-One brand all-temp silicone oil to lubricate the bearings. I used that oil and got some better improvement. They thought that the problem I'm having is that my flag is too light weight, so be careful with the weight of your flag. I'm not a big fan of the type of clip used to connect to your flag. I purchased a set of stainless steel carabiners to replace them. Stanwood's customer service was excellent! The above is not meant to be a heavy criticism of this product. It is definitely worth the money, does actually work GREAT and I would buy them again if I needed another set. EDIT: I've found that if I leave the flag alone (sometimes for minutes other times for a few hours) the flag untangles itself. I've left it alone for at least 2 months and has NEVER stayed tangled for that entire time. NOT ONCE!!

Well made and works as advertised to keep flag from getting bunched up. I've had this on my flagpole now for about 4 months whoring flawlessly. Recommended.
