VQ Dexter Portable Dab Radio Alarm Clock, Radios Mains and Battery - Oak

Stylish look, nice sized portable radio for indoor/outdoor use. Chose Laura Ashley design for clarity of buttons, being visually challenged. Great sound and a super amount of DAB radio stations to choose from. Easy basic set-up, but I found it difficult to do the pre-sets, I felt the instructions were not detailed enough, but at least I could read them. I preserved with the set-up routine, but it took me ages, and I managed because I already own another DAB radio, so I had a little knowledge. Anyway, I don’t really know why I bothered with the pre-set tuning because I only listen to two or three radio stations, which are easy to find. I would suggest if you are not techno minded to skip the pre-set tuning (took me 2 hours) and just find the radio station/s you like, and listen and enjoy. I found switching off the radio easy and all the other radio functions, just not the setting up of the pre-sets. All in all a super portable radio and I definitely recommend. Good value. Thank you.

I was pleased when I unpacked my new radio, it s cute (small) pretty (so it could go in bedroom...lounge,) It s easy to use with biggish buttons and knob. this would be a great radio to take out and about, perhaps when having a picnic and it s so compact, would fit in your handbag/holdall Just one thing I found it only works when placed on my window cills or outside in my garden when having a coffee.....if I place this anywhere else in my home it does not pick up a signal...nevermind

Good product but features are not as described on Amazon UK website. The description says the radio set has embedded rechargeable batteries (via USB plug). Actually, it has not. It requires 4 standard batteries (not supplied). It can also work with the mains via a micro USB outlet (plug supplied). Not an issue for me to buy batteries but why claiming a feature that is not there? It could desappoint buyers… Overall a very good product with a great sound

This radio is a must buy. Sound quality is excellent, very pretty design, easy to use. If you are unsure on how to use any part of it there is a booklet explaining everything very well. I've been through a lot of radios that were either tinny sounding or complicated to use but this is perfect. Buy it you won't regret it.

I've had this Dexter DAB radio for two years now and so this is a brief summary from two years use. First of all battery life is awful. I use rechargeables and I barely get a days full play. The charging cord is short and unreliable - in fact mine stopped working very quickly. The radio is a pain to turn off. For some inexplicable reason they combined the mode button (FM/DAB) with the on/off button. This makes turning it off a completely randomized experience. Turning it off may just change the mode. It feels like there might be a secret method of turning this radio off that only a few are privvy to but regardless it is a design fault. The radio itself feels a bit flimsy and light and the aerial needs re-tightening form time to time. Finally - what it does sound like? I thought it sounded ok, until recently I bought a slightly more expensive DAB radio and the sound is a completely different experience. I was surprised actually how much I noticed the difference as I don't usually pay much attention to that sort of thing. The new radio was stunning in comparison. Infact Status Quo's Paper Plane has just come on Boom Radio and it sounds flippin awesome. I don't normally do reviews but felt strongly to advise there are much better DAB radios available for a little bit more money.

Nice looking radio great sound. Unfortunately had to return to Amazon.I tried many times to set up the preset facility.It was very frustrating as the select button was ineffectual.Very disappointing as I really liked everything else about the radio, To help me I watched a video on youtube but the select button was faulty.🙁

Quite small but very cute, works well. Obviously a niche market for Kath kidston fans.

I love this little radio. This model is called Dexter, has great sound quality, a poweful speaker and instructions in the box. You can turn the power off fully to conserve mains power or battery power and when you turn it back on again, it retains your bespoke settings. Great addition to my home.

Dieses Radio sollte als einfaches Gerät ohne Netzteil im Badezimmer eingesetzt werden. Die Produktbeschreibung und die Bilder versprachen mir ein praktisches Produkt. Nach dem Unboxing: Enttäuschend! — Die Optik des Wallnuss-Dekors wirkt billig und künstlich. In der Hoffnung ohne das „Manual“ mir einen Eindruck vom Klang zu verschaffen zog ich nach mehreren gescheiterten Versuchen die Gebrauchsanweisung aus der Verpackung: Das DIN A2 große Blatt in Falzung einer Packungsbeilage. Die Anweisungen waren nicht nur unübersichtlich — sie waren auch unverständlich. — Nach 30 Minuten war das Gerät wieder auf dem Weg zurück in die Verpackung, geht wieder zurück an den Absender und hätte China nie verlassen sollen….
