I normally wouldn't use a product such as this, but in the past month there have been two occasions when I needed to make holes in products I own. I purchased a new dress that came with a leather belt, and the belt needed to be shorted about an inch. The other product I needed to refit were leather sandals, and again I needed to make the ankle strap shorter so that the shoes fit tighter. In both cases I pounded a nail through the two straps to make a hole, but that didn't really work very well. I just couldn't get a nice clean hole. After receiving this tool, I remade the holes in my belt and shoe strap, and it did a pretty good job of making the holes look like all of the other holes in the belt and shoes. There are half a dozen different diameters to choose from, I went with one that was slightly larger than the hole I needed, and I'm glad I did because the tool didn't cut completely clean through the leather, so this gave me some wiggle room to be able to use my belt and shoe straps. I didn't have to apply a lot of pressure to get it to cut through my straps, so I was happy about that. I am 70 and my hand strength is not what it used to be! For the price, I consider this tool an excellent value. It is heavy duty and seems very durable, and it has a good grip so that it doesn't slip while using it. It comes with a rasp to clean the residue out of the hole, which worked great. It also comes with a ruler in case you need to measure the distance between holes. I'm very glad I ordered this tool!

Easy to use, makes clear cuts. This is the first hole puncher I ever used and I am very happy. I used it on a few belts and a hand bag. Worked great.

I buy so much from Amazon but rarely write reviews. I literally just opened this. Needed to make holes in the strap of the Dooney and Bourke purse I gave my MIL for Christmas. Mind you I was weary. This wasn't an inexpensive purse that I could ruin. I opened it, used the metal ruler to measure the distance between holes. Matched up the same size punch to match the other holes in the purse strap, punched abut 10 new holes in the extension strap (WTH Dooney some women are 5'2" not 6' tall). It was so easy. Cut like butter. Made very neat holes and nobody would know they were added. Perfect. If you have one of those purses, or any other leather that needs holes do not hesitate! And it came in one day!

I bought this leather hole punch because I received a really nice belt for my birthday that ended up being slightly too big. I only needed it for that one adjustment, but it worked exactly the way I hoped. The punch made a clean hole in the belt and it didn’t damage the leather, which I was a little worried about since the belt was pretty fancy. The tool itself feels sturdy and the different hole size options are useful if you’re working with different belts or materials. It was also pretty straightforward to use even though I had never used a leather punch before. For me this was kind of a one-time use purchase, but I’m glad I have it now just in case I get another belt that needs adjusting in the future. Overall it did the job well and saved me from having to take the belt somewhere to get altered.
