WILEY Dinosaur Paleobiology

This is an up to date, thorough review of dinosaurs. It is very well written and enjoyable to read - for adults, but without the techno-babble I've been running across in promising-sounding books that turn out to be collections of research papers. I got the paperback edition, so I missed the DRM problems the other reviewer (who also finds the book itself to be excellent) mentioned regarding the kindle edition. It looks pricey for a paperback, but its a quality print with a good number of photos and illustrations (mostly black and white, but there are some color plates) - I've gotten a number of books on dinosaurs over the 15-20 years, and this is definitely one of the better ones, and one of the best in terms of substantive text.

Easy to read, pen does not bleed through the paper. Light. This book is great for some easy dinosaur readings.

A holistic look at dinosaur biology (funny that - does what it says on the cover) and seems comprehensive - skeletal, locomotion, soft tissue etc. Brusatte seems to be at the forefront of current dinosaur writing, I've got some of his more popular works. This book is for the dinosaur enthusiast, not for those with a general or passing interest. Good that it is 2012 publication - dinosaur knowledge develops apace and those of us who've spent decades in their thrall need to keep our fingers on the pulse. I guess it's undergrad level, but accessible for anyone with a love of dinosaurs who has picked up anatomical awareness along the way, and Brusatte explains technicalities as he goes and eschews hard core bone morphology descriptions unless they really are necessary to the point in hand. Good range of graphics to illustrate discussion points, and still room for a few colour plates. Ideal for me.
