The come flattened in a box, but everything is finished beautifully. "Assembly" is merely lifting three supports that snap right into place - couldn't be easier, and a really clever design, too. I thought there might be wrinkles remaining from the flat crush, but no, not at all. They are smooth, nicely lined, and pretty darn perfect. I saved the box for our next move and I like knowing that I don't have to worry about these being damaged because I will just fold them down again and be good to go.
