Reference Next-Generation R-40M Horn-Loaded Bookshelf Speakers with 4” Spun-Copper Woofers for Best-in-Class Home Theater Sound in Black

Well packaged, looks and sounds great. Not too loud though, might be how I have it configured

* I added these as height speakers to my 3.1 home theater setup. Upgrading to a 3.1.2 configuration unlocked a bunch of new audio modes on my AV receiver. * I really like the clean and detailed sound. These speakers add an extra layer of ambiance to my movies and give my music a fuller sound. * They look really nice and well-made. With the front grill on, they even resemble an Xbox Series X. * Overall, I'm happy with these speakers and glad I added them to my setup.

These speakers sound great! I am running a 5.4.2 Dolby Atmos surround using an Emotiva BasX MR1 cinema receiver, Klipsch RP-8000F II 2.0 x2, Klipsch RP-600M II x2, Klipsch R-40M x4, Klipsch R-30C Horn-Loaded Center Channel Speaker, and SVS SB-3000 13" Sealed Subwoofers x2. Movies and music through this system is outstanding!

Great sound, good build quality, very powerful for their size, these pack a punch.

I picked up the Klipsch R‑40M as part of a full 5.1 system built around the R‑50M fronts and the R‑50C center. My original plan was to use another pair of R‑50M speakers in the back, but they simply didn’t fit in the rear cabinet space I have. The R‑40M ended up being the only model that fit comfortably, so they became my surround channels. In terms of build quality, they feel solid and consistent with the rest of the Reference Next‑Gen line. The copper woofers and updated horn design give them the same visual identity as the larger models, which helps the whole system look cohesive. They’re compact enough to place in tighter spaces without compromising too much on performance. Sonically, the R‑40M does a respectable job as a surround speaker. Effects are clear, directional cues are easy to follow, and they integrate smoothly with the more powerful R‑50M fronts. That said, they are noticeably less powerful than the R‑50M, so you need to spend a little time balancing your levels. Once I bumped their channel trim a bit and adjusted the distance settings, the rear soundstage locked in nicely and felt much more even. They won’t deliver the same fullness or dynamic punch as the larger models, but for rear channels that’s usually not a deal breaker. What matters is clarity and consistency, and the R‑40M handles both well. Movies with active surround mixes feel immersive, and ambient effects wrap around the room without calling attention to the speakers themselves. If you’re building a system where space is limited in the back, the R‑40M is a practical and capable choice. Just be prepared to fine tune your calibration so they match the output of the bigger speakers up front. Once dialed in, they round out a 5.1 setup very effectively.

I have never owned Klipsch, but always wanted a pair. I wanted a smaller set of bookshelf speakers to pair with a smaller amp. These Klipsch got mostly positive reviews, I chose them to pair with a Rockville WD smaller tube type amp/preamp Very nice !! The sound is balanced , not muddy, and honestly fill a much larger space than I expected. Highly recommended very happy with my first ever pair of Klipsch

Really good for the price

Tried these in a very small room because they were a good size and looked nice. They sounded so muddy and muffled. I drove them with a really good setup, Emotiva amp and used Tidal which is HD streaming and they sounded horrible. Flat, dull and cheap. I immediately looked to upgrade and gave them away. They may be fine for the rear speakers in a 5.1 TV setup up but they are not quality audio speakers. Very disappointed in this complete waste of money product. Not serious audio at all.

聴く音楽ジャンルは、ロック、メタル、EDM、J-POPが主です。 90dbを超える高感度帯に属する小型スピーカーを購入するのは初めてです。 とりあえず、メーカーが底にコルクシートを貼ってくれていたので、床から75cmのスピーカー台に直置きで聞いております。 音源はAmazon Musicのハイレゾです。DACはフォステクスのHP-A4です。 スピーカーケーブルはベルデン8460を2mです。 アンプはDENONのAVアンプ（15万くらいのやつです。）ステレオ、Pureモードで聞いています。 ウーファーが小口径にも関わらず、PolkのXT15よりも音圧を感じることに驚きました。 音が凄く前に出てきます。中高音はとても綺麗でレスポンスも早いのですが、刺さる感じはほとんどしないです。 どこまでも伸びていきそうな伸びやかな感じはホーン特有です。これが気持ち良い方にはたまらんのではないでしょうか。価格も考えるととても良いと思います。 意外だったのは、低音も思ったよりは出ていることです（小口径なのでサブウーファーで補強する予定でした）。リアバスレフですが、きちんと壁から30cmほど離してやると良い感じで出ます。 量がないだけで質感は悪くないので、普通に聴く分には、サブウーファーなくても音楽が楽しめます。 ベースの最低音は何となくしか聞こえないので、きちんと下も出したい方は、サブーファー推奨です。 でも、これで良いって方も多いと思います。 ただし、音量を絞って聴く方には向きません。しっかり音圧を感じつつ、スピード感のある音で聴くには、音量をある程度出す必要があります。 小型なので、出し過ぎると低音がボワ付くのが目立ってくるので、適度な音量の範囲は狭いと思います。 軽量でサイズも小さいので、置き場所も困らないです。 質感は、サランネットはマグネットで収まりも良く、ちょっとネットが本体に凹みがあってツライチに近い状態になる構造で、ホコリなどの影響も少ないと思います。ゴールドのメーカーロゴも良い感じです。 本体は価格帯的に仕方がないと思いますが、木目のビニールシート巻きなのでそれなりです。 小型スピーカーで、この資質を持つ製品を他に知らないので、比較出来ないのですが、 新しい扉を開いてしまったということです。とても気に入りました。 POLK（XT15とES10）もB&W（603）もDALI（レクトール2、センソール1）もYAMAHA（古くて型番忘れてしまった）も好きなのですが、DALIのような重たい低能率のまったりした感じとは真逆のスピーカーで、好みが分かれるというのは分かる気がします。 小型のアンプでも鳴らしやすいと思うので、汎用性を考えるとコスパは良いと思います。 BGM的にまったり楽しむにはちょっと疲れるかもしれませんが、ノリノリで音楽を聴きたい気分の時は、超良いと思います。スピード感が癖になります。 どんなジャンルでも万能に鳴らすのは手持ちの中では、YAMAHAとB&Wだと思いますが、POLKのコスパは意味が分からないくらい良いですし（オーディオ沼入門用に絶対的にお勧め）、 DALIのまったり感も良いですし、YAMAHAの素直な素朴な音も好きなので、 このクリプシュ君は、知らなかった扉を開いてくれたので、★5です。 ギターのザクザク感とか、鳥肌物です。 ただ、万人に勧められるかというと、有識者の皆様のおっしゃる通り、はまれば凄く良いスピーカーということになるでしょうか。 イメージだけでも伝われば良いのですが、皆さん、良い音楽ライフを！ ※私は割と原音再生とかはどうでも良いタイプです。自分が聴いて楽しければハッピーなタイプなので、 真剣に音と向き合いたいタイプの方は違うスピーカーをお勧めします。

Me encantaron mucho Llegaron en Su empaque original en perfecto estado Las utilizo con un reciver Yamaha rx-v6a y suena estupendas el único problema es que en las especificaciones dice conectividad Bluetooth pero ese modelo no tiene esa conectividad

I would like to have a little bit more bass but , for the size they are really great ! The Tweeter is really loud and sound clear !
