I recently decided to minimize my plastic waste & was hesitant to give up plastic netting loofas because the natural ones have always been so hard, not pliable and generally not pleasant to bathe with. Enter the konjac body sponges. I am officially in love! I’ve been using one for a month now & it it wonderful. The sponge lathers well, is soft but gently exfoliates & is exactly what I was looking for in a natural alternative. The cherry on top is that the sponge will biodegrade after a few months (& can be added to compost), which is much nicer than trying to remember an appropriate time frame to change out my plastic loofas. I will definitely be ordering more in the future & highly recommend them.

I have been looking for an eco friendly version of a plastic bath puff for a while. I found most to be scratchy. I had given up hope--until I found the Konjac Body Sponge! It's soft yet also firm if that makes any sense. It lathers up well and I feel very clean after using it. The string broke after a couple of weeks, but that is not an issue for me. It has held up very well--I think I've had it about 5-6 weeks now. It seems to be getting a bit smaller, but that's ok because there is another one in the box waiting to be used.

I am so glad I found these sponges. I hated using loofahs it just felt like microplastics scratching my skin, plus the waste. I have been on a journey for many years trying to find ways to leave less of a carbon footprint on the planet. Wash rags was an obvious swap for the loofah, but they just flop around everywhere in my small hands, you have to use 10x more soap, and I never felt like they were doing a good job. These are hard at first, you get them wet and they will expand and soften (a little jelly-like feeling at first) then when you add soap to them it emulisifys well and does a great job. I love that they are biodegradable, and that they dry up so they aren't holding the moisture /bacteria, and they have zero smell. They are a bit pricy, but to me they are worth it.

I bought this to try something smaller and more gentle than the natural loofah sponges I'd been using over the last 2 years. I would buy a whole, long loofah and cut it in quarters. It was very cost effective and they lasted a long time before needing to be tossed, but they were very rough and my sensitive skin needed a break. Before that I was using Italy cloths, but didn't like that they were so manufactured and unbiodegradeable. This sponge is certainly more gentle on skin once fully soaked with water, to the point where it didn't feel any more "scrubby" than a washcloth, perhaps even less so if you use the side with the channels cut into it (are you supposed to use that side? I really don't know). If this is what you're after, you might appreciate this sponge more than I did. I was looking for something more in between a coarse scrub and a gentle cloth wash. Overall I didn't see any improvements in my skin's texture or overall feel. Finally, the first one lasted about a month before I felt compelled to toss it. Even though I squeeze the water out after using and hang it to dry, I felt the minerals and other yuck from my hard water clung to it and it showed. I'm on the second one now, and won't be repurchasing.

Best i've found. I can usually get 6 weeks or more out of one, and the roughness seems like a happy medium. They lather up well too with the bar soaps I use. They do take a few days to fully dry out so if i'm traveling i end up putting it in the soap section of my toiletries bag and hang it up to dry when i get to where i'm going. I've been quite happy with this product for several years now.
