Wow. Blown away.
This is the first robot vaccuum that works the way I would expect a mature technology to work. I'm a new homeowner - and initially bought a cheaper (under $200) "dumber" Chinese brand. I'll spare you specifics other than saying it was just not cutting it. Wanting to upgrade, I tried a Roomba thinking it was "the" brand. After having to ship the first Roomba they sent me back because of a defect - I tested it out over a few weeks, but was extremely disappointed with its performance. Loud, temperamental, "stupid" and the app was awful. (It also did not mop) I digested hours of YouTube reviews and decided to buy an S7. THAT was shipped to me obviously used, (come ON, Amazon) with Kirkland brand wet wipes in ZipLoc bags included in the box. Frustrated of being frustrated, I just pulled the trigger on the biggest bestest (as far as I know) and order S7 MaxV Ultra with the dock that has all the bells and whistles. I am absolutely blown away by the difference. It's quieter, faster, smarter, the app is intuitive & has every kind of functionality you would expect and more. God, the mopping (with *just* water) gets the floors cleaner than my wife has been able to with a mop and elbow grease. This thing is magic. Praise aside - I'll be blunt. This is an expensive vacuum. $1500 after tax is _nuts_. NUTS. That said - if you are in the fortunate position to afford this, it is worth every nickel. (Assuming it holds up/ has a decent standard of quality) If you can afford this and are wondering whether or not the money makes a difference, know that it really really really really really does. If you are a person who (very very reasonably) has more difficulty justifying the price, I *more* than understand - if saving up would be difficult (it always, always is - life happens) I recommend buying a much cheaper robot vacuum over any of the other brands' mid range $400 ones.

Worth it
### Summary Great vacuum and mop bot, but kind of expensive. ### Price I got it for $1,400, and it includes the cleaning dock. On Black Friday, it went on sale for about $1,100. I would say that even at $1,400, it was worth it. ### Cleanliness It does an excellent job of mopping. It does a better job than if I grabbed some paper towels and tried to wipe a mess myself. You can see the dirty water it expels to see how effective it is. The vacuuming function is good, but I think that part is probably pretty standard. ### Battery The battery is excellent for a small condo/apartment. I have about 600-700 square feet of cleanable space and I have it run on the moderate vacuum and mop intensities, and it uses about 60-70% battery for the full run. I suspect on the max mop and vacuum settings, it might not last the whole run, so if you have a large house, you might need to split out your cleaning in two sessions. Also, the more stuff you have in the way, the more it has to turn, the more battery it would use. A wide, empty space should use less battery. ### Cleaning speed It takes about 90 minutes for a full run with moderate vacuuming and mopping for about 600-700 square feet cleaning space. This includes intermediate trips it has to take to clean its mop (you can configure how often, but I set it to every 30 minutes), plus it has to clean the mop before and after its cleaning session. It also takes like half a minute to empty its dust bag, too. ### Ease of Use I personally think it's easy-to-use, but I would not say that it's simple. To use it, you **NEED** to use the mobile app. I have no idea how to use it otherwise. You can set up Alexa to listen to voice commands, I think, but I don't know how to set that up (nor do I have Alexa). The app itself is pretty intuitive but complex. You can kind of guess where a setting might be. You can set up schedules (clean a specific room at a specific time of day and day of week). You can set up spot cleaning for a zone if you spill something.

We love this product. It keeps the floors (hardwood and tile) sparkling clean. There are multiple modes for vacuum and mop that allows you to not just select one or the other but also customize intensity of each. It can store maps for upto 3 levels and is smart enough to identify different rooms. The app allows you to further divide each room if you need to. Changing the clean and dirty water is a breeze and depending on how much solid particles are on the floor, the vacuum bag lasts a really long time. We have a very hairy dog who sheds in the summer months. Previously we had to vacuum the house 2-3 times a day... but now we have the roborock scheduled to clean at regular intervals and mop when we are sleeping. This keeps the house as clean as when the floors were first installed. Also keeps other surfaces clean because there isn't much dust that gets stirred and flies around from the floor. The intelligent obstacle avoidance is definitely a blessing because of random items such as toys that might get left around when the cleaning schedule starts.

This robot i believe is one of the best in the market, it works really good, the mapping is good, the app could be improved but it is workable. i recently had one issue with an error, called the warranty and they were very helpful over the phone, the knew exactly what the problem was so it appears to be a recurring problem, FYI get oxide stains on the sensor near the mop, so it gives Error 4, luckily it was before the 1 year warranty expired (about 8 months in use). other than that, it does a great job at cleaning and mopping and mapping etc. very happy with it. pretty smart machine :)

We ordered our Roborock Vacuum Nov 25, 2022. It was delivered Dec 1, 2022 (Thursday). Surprisingly fast! Unboxing and setup was so easy and fast. Within 5 minutes our robot was setup and ready to use for the first time. We immediately sent it out to do the mapping. All hard wood throughout home. One area rug in front the main entrance. We were extremely happy, and very entertained watching our Roborock S7 run it's routine. All the features and options were amazing. It 100% avoided hazards, identified obstacles, intelligently cleaned, mapped, and returned to dock without issue or getting stuck, lost, etc. It vacuumed TIGHT to edges and around corners. The vacuum suction and the mopping was better than expected. From hard floors to carpet, the cleaning was thorough and impressive. As good as what I can do by hand. The auto clean was amazing. It automatically emptied the dirty water to the receptacle. It auto emptied the rubbish bin after a vacuum. It auto washed the mop after a mopping. All we had to do was ensure the clean water bin was full and and the dirty water bin was emptied. The low maintenance made this extremely user friendly. The scheduling made it easy to 'set and forget'. Although it was very difficult to leave it alone and NOT go on the app to start a manual clean, lol. All in all our purchase was an easy 10/10 - until it stopped working in the middle of a scheduled clean on Saturday Night (48 hours after receiving it). Just like that - BLAM - dead/offline. Battery was at 77% according to the app. A voice spoke "Cannot turn on, this will take about 5 minutes." This voice repeated several times over a 45 minute period. It did not turn on. I tried holding the power button for 15-20 seconds. It did not turn on. I tried placing it back in the dock manually. It did not turn on. I tried to do a factory reset following the instructions. A voice prompted "Restoring factory setting, this will take about 5 minutes", and the power button flashed. After a while a voice repeated "Cannot turn on, this will take about 5 minutes." Firmware was up to date. I contacted Roborock support and I was prompted to take a video and respond to their email. Shortly afterwards I was advised its defective and to exchange it. No worries. Defective tech out of the box is not a problem and is not reflective of the product as a whole. It happens and I understand that. However, this is when the trouble began and where the 1 star comes from. I immediately started a warranty exchange through Amazon online, as Amazon was my seller and supplier. I was told they do not do exchanges - I have to go through Roborock because they are the manufacturer (says the Amazon message). So I did, Roborock stated they do not do exchanges in this case because Amazon was the seller, so I have to - HAVE TO - get it done through Amazon. Once more, speaking to Amazon customer service, Amazon stated there is no way in their system to do a warranty exchange because its not in the arrangements with this manufacturer. Back and forth. Several emails. Weeks. This process took longer than our actual ownership/use of the robot. So we eventually packed up our brand new (used 3 times, used less than 48 hours) Roborock S7 in it's original packaging and returned to Amazon for a full refund out of frustration. A refund was our only option. Since an exchange was our expected/desired resolution, and was not provided at all despite being a seller of the product, we can only give 1 star at best for this product review here. Because support is as key to a product as function. We found another seller, Best Buy, who provides full in house warranty, returns, exchanges, and repairs for one year from purchase before manufacturer takes over. So we bought another one from Best Buy for considerably less price also. Like hundreds. BUYER BEWARE UPDATE (August 2024) - after one year of use with the replacement Roboroc S7 from Best Buy, the robot began being unable to back into the dock station to clean the mop Around November/December 2023. I have Been trouble shooting this over a year now. Replaced almost every part - at the cost equivalent of buying a brand new one at this point. I Worked with Roboroc customer service/tech support. Worked with 3rd party repair support. reviewed online resources from multiple roboroc forums. Thousands of users reported this exact issue after 6 months to one year of use. The robot will simply NOT back into dock to clean the mop. But, Don't take my word for it - Google "Roboroc S7 MaxV will not back into dock to clean mop" Additionally, the rubbish bin does not empty into teh bag despite new bags installed and regular cleaning/maintenance. After each vacuum I have to manually empty the rubbish bin on the robot. The dock station will not suck out the debris after a vacuuming. There are No obstacles ,clogs, or anything found in the dock station to cause this issue. there is NO FIX or work around for these, and Roboroc support/tech service will not warranty, replace or do anything other than send 2 or 3 emails of suggestions before stopping all communication to resolve these common defects in all Roborocs - users have reported this issue in all models of Q5, Q7, S7, and S8 robots.
