Works great, worth the money
So our dogs kept escaping from their dog run area. They like chewing right the wire and wood. This was our last resort. Before we bought this product I read all reviews, all great reviews. Praying it will work. Installed and ran wire 4 days aways. Works great, dogs yelp once and learned fast. No more escapes. Thank you so much. Worth the money. Install easy. Thank you and thank you!

Keeps the critters out
I paired this up with a premier portable fence and it worked great. Very easy to hook up and great value for the money. Its not small but its not huge either. And I mean to tell you when this thing hit the first squirrel around my fruit trees and garden he did a back flip! Then several more got it. A few eventually found their way through but Id say it kept 98% of them out. I highly recommend

It will help if you have racoon problems!
We had a wild duck make a nest in a big planter on the porch/foyer area just outside our front door. We don't use the front door much and by the time we new it she had already laid 3 eggs... If I would have known before she laid eggs I would have likely discouraged her from building there.Funny thing, there is a security camera that covers that spot very well, but didn't see the duck come and go as long as she walked in and out. She was a young mallard duck, Daffy, and laid 8 eggs. While we don't use that door much our guest do, and delivery people leave stuff there, but not for a little over a month... I blocked off the sidewalk, put a table out there for deliveries put a sign up, with an explanation, and our phone number should some one need us to know they were there. Every thing went along well for about a week. We get a security notification from the front door camera about 4:30 Am A racoon had found Daffy sitting on the nest, and made off with an egg. The camera saw the racoon coming but was running away when I got there. We also found that the camera could see Daffy if she flew out instead of walking??? Now I know about mother nature and the circle of live and the racoon needs to eat too. I also know about my wife, and she said the duck was there first, and she said really bad things about the racoon, and that they were not as cute when they are stealing eggs from the duck!!! She might even have made threats to use noisy forms of pest control to remedy Daffy's, and my new problem. I explained that her method of pest control might irritate PO the neighbors, she wasn't deterred. I also pointed out that it might scare the duck, and she didn't want that. I spent the two hours of sleep time I had left thinking about a way to make all involved safe and happy. I ordered the Zareba EAC10M-Z AC Powered Low Impedance Electric Fence Charger, and wire, and some temporary little plastic fence post. The next day everything arrive via the Amazon delivery truck, thank you. Within a couple of hours I had turned most of the sidewalk and the porch/foyer area into a high security area fortified by an electric fence. I had to update the sign to warn of the possibility of electric shock. I did put it on a timer, on at dark, off at dawn. It made a racoon stutter when he found it and he went on his way. Unfortunately raccoons are not easily deterred and they are really smart. A couple of nights later he figured out the table I left out for deliveries could be used to jump over the fence... He got another egg but the table couldn't help him get out, and again he stuttered and chattered about it... Though my wife suggested we use her ideas to take care of the problem, and something about me not being as smart as the raccoon. I reasoned that I could just move the table. After 35 days total, 25 days of sitting on the nest we had little ducklings. They all hatched between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm. At 5:45 PM she Struck out down the sidewalk and the driveway, across the street and through a little wooded area where there is a big pond and our little neighborhood park. What a relief. The bottom line is sometimes you have to protect your property, or a duck you don't even know, from unwanted pest, and you have to keep your wife happy. This fence charger helped to do that without anyone or anything getting hurt. I will say that if I had it to do over I would have bought the next power level up. I later read that while this charger would stop much larger animals from pushing through it wasn't powerful enough to stop a raccoon, or some other wild animals of smaller size.

High quality fence charger
Nice strong fence stronger. Hooked it up with 3 ground rods . My fence charger meter goes to 8,000 volts and it lights it up. Has a ticking sound to let you know it's working. I haven't been bit by it and I hope I never do haha.

It's powerful
This is one heck of a great fence controller. We have so many deer and they eat everything. The deer have tested our fence and they have decided that they should stay away. It's powerful.

Very pleased so far
Price was good and unit puts out a real punch. I have a major pig problem and this unit works great. I only had to use one wire only 1' off the ground and it even stopped the big ones. First few days checked for down wires as the pigs try to walk through it but very easy to fix with only one wire also easy to take down temporarily to drive over with mower then put up again in like 30 seconds. The 2 joule shocker is what I needed but it did nail my dog a couple times and he won't go within 20' of the fence. I have the shocker on a timer for night time use only as the pigs are nocturnal here in Hawaii. That way it is safe during the day and I can check it etc without fear of getting shocked. Don't yet know how long it will last so 4 stars only for now.

Using to keep deer out of blueberry patch
I set this up last week because the deer always hammer my acre field of blueberries, especially in the winter. My hope was to train the deer to avoid the patch going forward. A farmer told me that the best way to keep deer out with an electric fence was to set the wire 6 inches off the ground. Yes, 6 inches. This way the deer can't see the wire to jump over it. He claimed this method worked perfectly for his garden - no deer will cross the line because it shocks them in the feet and they back away. Then they avoid the area. So I tried it with this fencer. It set up in the normal way all fencers do. The first night, I discovered deer had approached the wire and broke it. I repaired it, and then checked it this morning, two days later. With snow on the ground I could see in five places where the deer tracks approach the fence and then turn away. In one place a deer tore up dirt in haste to get away from it. I did discover at least one set of tracks that had crossed over into the patch but appeared to continue right on through without pausing. At one week in, I think the training process is going well. To encircle an acre of berries, set posts, run wire, and hang the fencer unit in a shed took me about 5 hours all in all. For $100 for the fencer (25 Mile, 1-Joule), I will consider this a worthwhile investment if it lasts.
