Small Change vs Replacing a Sena 50$
Rating the battery life and value for the money would take six stars. Easy to install? Maybe not so much in a 50S. After three seasons, the last with little or no runtime, it was like getting a new radio. Then after a few weeks of LD riding, the (four so far) batteries I've replaced for family and friends are still going strong, on mesh, noise cancelling, bt Garmin + audio stream to some decent HK speakers, occasional incoming phone calls... all, day, long. It needs to be made simpler to replace batteries like these. They work very hard through hundreds of all-weather cycles. The lifespan of batteries like these should not be expected to determine the life span of pricey devices. Not sure I would recommend this job to someone unfamiliar with this kind of DIY repair, or with unsteady hands. I paused a YT video each step my first two replacements - and I am familiar with this sort of thing. The 50S needs to be opened carefully and reassembled correctly. There is little or no wiggle space for wires, the gasket, edges of the battery, etc. I since found a $10 USD "phone repair" tool kit with plastic and metal pry tools, tweezers, handy screwdrivers and other things all in one zippered pouch that make this type of repair much-much easier. Adequate light and clear focus or magnification also. *I believe the 50S new is sold as weather resistant and mine have delivered that much. Opening the radio you'll see small dots of clear sealant over the recessed screw heads, the gasket you'll see around the perimeter seam, and a few other places Sena saw fit to use sealant. Putting the radio back together without resealing will make your 50S less weather resistant. I try to use a moderate output charger (that 1A white cube) on Sena's Wi-Fi cable, then not leave everything plugged in after the red LED turns blue. These are a relatively small capacity class of battery. Not much gain trying to use a higher output quick charger. The 50S is apparently calibrated to show 100% at 1000mAh, so don't be surprised to see ~110% battery level in the Sena phone app. ;-)

Battery last longer than ever.
Battery worked perfectly. Only issue for me was I put it into a Sena 50s and it is just a little larger than the original battery so the fit was very tight and made it harder to close back up. It worked great and the headset last longer than it ever did so even though fitment issue is true I would buy it again because the result was really good.

Tight fit but works
UPDATE!! Deffinatly larger than original battery kinda tough to get it placed right but works great so far just follow youtube videos I did mine in less than 15 min battery so far does not last as long as the original but seems to be getting better with use

Not worth the money
Don't waste the money. It'll work but discharges very fast.

Battery was a direct fit however…
I only gave 3 stars because the plug on new battery was cracked and would not fit in its socket. I had to cut and splice the old plug onto the new battery. Wasn’t worth the hassle to return and wait for a new one to arrive.

Didn't work
Nothing I can say about the battery, but the whole replacement for sena 50s is cumbersome and didn't work for me.

It works!
Find “Sena 50S Battery Replacement” on the YT channel and it will tell and show all you need to know. Some advice after replacing mine. You do NOT need to remove the large rubber seal, or disconnect the antenna internally or even move the antenna to an upright position…just leave it in the stored (down) position. Option 2 in the video is the best option…a hair dryer should be sufficient, but be careful not to overheat the 50S…it doesn’t take that much heat to loosen/soften the glue holding in the bottom pin connector. You’ll also need a micro phillips head screw driver to remove the 7 tiny screws at the back of the unit, an X-acto knife (or something similar), a small flathead screwdriver and small needle nose pliers. A few days later I took an 8 hour/275 mile solo motorcycle ride, leaving at 10am with battery level on high and returning at 6pm. Battery level was still medium at 6pm, even after listening to music all day, but no mesh since I was riding solo. Even at 10pm it was still medium, before finally turning it off, so a full 12 hours overall. Not very scientific perhaps, but I feel pretty confident the 50S could go at least 8 hours in mesh mode in a group ride with this new higher capacity battery installed and fully charged, without having to think about recharging during a midday stop, and possibly 10-12 hours on Bluetooth. YMMV.
