Amazing flavor but only 4 stars because meat was greasy and going in and out of bag is quite messy due to greasiness.

I had used small packages to supplement my protein intake. I HOPED TO KEEP THAT GOING WITH A MORE COST EFFECTIVE BIG BAG. i FOUND THAT WITH MY SORE JAWS I COULD ONLY EAT (CHEW CHEW CHEW) ONLY A FEW PIECES. It was either old and dry, cut too thick and dry or just did not go through a proper quality controlled process. I would like a refund if you cannot furnish me with the very thin sliced and soft to chew product I have had. I could not recommend this as a protein supplement to my patients now. Dr. Gary L. Disappointing :( I'd tried the Peri Peri flavor and really loved it. Perfect amount of seasoning, and a nice texture...moist and chewy. I wanted to spread the Brooklyn Bitlong love and bought some to share with friends. But since they don't like as much spice, I decided to get the Jo'burg Steakhouse flavor, figuring it would be all of the goodness with less of the heat. But it was dry and powdery, instead of moist and chewy. And it is way way too salty - there was no taste of garlic or vinegar or other tanginess...or beef...all that came through was salt. The overwhelming saltiness was surprising, since according the the label the Steakhouse version has less sodium (240 mg) than the Peri Peri version (390 mg) and that one was nowhere near as salty. I do wonder if something went wrong in the production process. I'll wind up using it on salads or tossing into stir fries, etc where saltiness and a protein boost is welcome.

I like the Peri Peri flavor more, this one is decent but a little bit too salty. The quality is pretty good but something about the Peri Peri flavor gave it better texture too. Edit: I got a replacement package from Ben at Brooklyn Biltong after he left a comment below saying it was a bad batch. The new stuff is much better! I'd recommend this flavor now if you are looking for something less spicy.
