Nuclear War Survival Skills Updated and Expanded 2022 Edition Regarding Ukraine Russia and the World: The Best Book on Any Nuclear Incident Ever ... New Methods and Tools As New Threat Emerge

I am a few chapters into this book and all I can say is it is well worth the hype! I have learned a phenomenal amount of information in the first 50 odd pages. If you have ever questioned what it would be like to live through a nuclear incident, what you’d need to build a shelter or just about nuclear bombs, radiation and radioactive ions in general, this book is for you! Packed full of information as the result of extensive research, it is great for people that love detail but don’t want to be dragged down by too much dull and complicated technical information. Even if Nuclear war isn’t high on your interest list, it has great general prepping/survival information on food storage, water, shelter etc. it is probably my favourite read in a long time and I am so glad I made the purchase.

Great book, good info, the book assumes everyone reading it must be American. Serious typo on page 113(H) in regards to Thyrosafe dosages for adults. It states 1x65mg dose required for adults. It's 2x65mg dose for adults. If you're buying Thyrosafe or IOSAT pills, read the product boxes for required doses, do not go by what's stated on page 113(H). Just saying.

Giving what is happening in the world right now, what has been happening, and what could happen in the near future - I decided it was time to invest and read up on that worst case scenario. To do that, I selected this "Nuclear War Survival Skills" book which has been updated to cover more recent world events. I'm not an expert in any survival skills by any means, but also not a complete novice. So I figured this textbook would be ideal to work through to understand what I needed to do and how to do it. In one regard, some of the book is interesting and does cover many aspects of survival (not just "nuclear" but also things like cold survival). I spent a lot of time exploring the contents and making footnotes of things to revisit, such as shelters and the practical ways of air circulation and so forth. Some of the information I knew already, much I did not know, so a definate learning experience. I don't completely agree with all the content and information, such as where it says to have "...a bottle of hypochlorite bleach for disinfecting water and utensils." I would use water sterilising tablets (multiple kinds online to choose from online) as I feel they are safer and more practical. What would happen if you accidently spilt your bottle of bleach? It's not a BIG deal, as somethings are down to personal preferance and what would work for you and what you have. I would have liked more information on safe guarding foodstuffs and what would be safe (and what would not be safe) to eat post nuclear. Things like milk would likely be unsafe due to cattle eating contained grass. However the book includes plenty of references and website for you to visit for more information, so this was apricated. My main issue, and one that really spoiled this book for me, is that it's poorly laid out and poorly printed with little attention being given to detail and consistency. Other reviewers have also mentioned this, and I agree that this "updated" book REALLY needs updated and reviewed again. The cover rightly states "updated and expanded 2022 edition" however the spine of the book says "2002" not "2022." Not sure if this is a typo or the author forgot to update the spine. The font and font sizes changes throughout the book which is annoying, distracting and again seems lazy. I first noticed after reading pages 14/15, then turning the page to find the size of the font smaller and the margins on the page much larger. Some of the diagrams are interesting and useful while others are very poor quality. Some like the one on page 180 are pretty much unreadable and therefore useless. Since this was the "updated" book, I somewhat expected the diagrams to be updated as well. As it stands many look like lower quality photocopies originally from the 70s or 80s. There are FAR better diagrams with better and more modern information available online. I'm really not sure how you can claim a book as updated when a lot of it doesn't seem to have changed? My issue with the older diagrams (apart from some being very low quality), is that some of the information and advice has moved on in the decades since they were drawn. Things like wick lanterns... pretty sure we'd all have better things available. I'm not sure why these diagrams haven't been updated, redrawn and so forth for this updated edition. All this makes me question how reliable the information is, and like another reviewer has highlighted - there are some typos and incorrect facts. It wasn't all bad, and like I said, I've learnt some useful information. But considering everything, the book looks and comes across as rushed, lazy, incomplete and not really updated. If the price stays low, then it might be worse considering. Otherwise, I'd suggest looking at the other more modern, more up to date and more consistent Nuclear Survival Guides.

Completely useless, avoid like the plague

I’m sure the info is good but picture quality really bad. I bought the 1987 edition by mistake, should have bought the *2022 edition*. Picture quality in 1987 is very bad. See comparison photos. Have returned the 1987. Looking forward to learning how to cope with war scenarios from the updated 2022 version.

I purchased this book because I am, naturally, prepping to provide myself with everything I need to survive an apocalypse such as nuclear war. This book is a time tested reference book that has been updated to include new technology. I think it is very important to own some manuals such as this especially important one, to know what to do in an apocalyptic situation, and in that situation one might thank oneself for buying hard copies of these books, rather than just e-books and pdf files. If anything they will give me something to read if the internet goes down. I think this particular book is not only valuable in the case of nuclear war but it includes other information which may be helpful in a grid down situation as well such as might happen in a bird flu pandemic or global economic meltdown, both of which are possible. Of course, it should be augmented with other books on survival and survival medicine in my opinion. Also, this book has information about the effects of a nuclear war in the Northern Hemisphere on the Pacific region too. That will be invaluable information living in Australia. This book was highly recommended to me by Canadian Prepper, an online source I have high regards for, as one of the two most important books to have, and I have perused this book and I think it would be very useful in the event of a calamitous event, especially if there is a nuclear war. Also, this edition is by far the best because it has been updated to include new technology such as LED lights instead of candles. Solar LED lights are so accessible now but did not exist when this book was first written during the Cold War.

Get this or gift it and read it; you will not be disappointed. Such good information to have on hand

Die meisten Buecher zu dem Thema kann man so aufsumieren: "Hoffen das man sofort stirbt und nicht langsam an der Strahlenkrankheit stirbt oder im nuklearen Winter verhungert". Dieses Buch ist deutlich optimistischer und gibt Anweisungen was man machen soll. Wenn es denn soweit ist, ist es immerhin besser als depressiv auf den Tod zu warten.

I guess we don't really know until we know whether or not these survival books are any good but in my life I have purchased 4 of these books all are in various places where they are easily accessible but too I too I forgot where they were so I bought another one This seems to be the best and well written book on the subject that I have seen. It. It explains the size of the explosion and and wind direction and so much scientific stuff that anyone can understand it. It also has the old Civil War defense layouts of how to make underground shelters to better your chance of surviving Personally I know where I'm going to go when I die so I feel pretty confident. I simply purchased these books just in case I survived. Though I wish it had more information it really is the most jam packed book on the subject I was able to find and I am very happy with my purchase. For those who can't afford to pay for it like those on welfare it is actually free for download on the Internet. And don't take advantage because this this is only for those who cannot afford it but will need it if they survive. Or we'll need it if they Want to survive and if you have the money to pay for it and don't that is being a thief thief in my opinion. Anyway I pray our father to text Carol all of us as he wills. In the meantime there's this book that I suggest every household has at least one copy of. Even those who can't afford to pay for it.
