Replaced under warranty. I love this cleaner
*Customer Service update* As promised here's my update regarding my experience with Tineco's customer service. Their Customer Service Reps are patient, attentive and very friendly. I've interacted with about 5 or 6 of them and each one of them made the experience pleasant. The best way to contact Tineco is through the chat feature on their website. Emails take on average 24 to 36hrs for a response. Phonecalls are tricky as well. I think some are located overseas so there is the timezone difference to consider when calling and when you do get a live person they recommend the chat. 🟩 The Chat Is very convenient and quick. They emailed me a return shipping label once I supplied proof of purchase, the serial number of the machine, a summation of what happened and pictures of the damage. I shipped back everything they requested and they shipped me a refurbished machine ( their refurbished machine tend to be machines returned though the machine has no defects). I was skeptical but once I received the replacement machine I was satisfied. 🟩Shipping + Cost Tineco provided a shipping label at no cost to me. The replacement was shipped once they received my machine NOT while mine was in transport as stated. Overall it took about 2.5 weeks to return and receive the replacement. 🟩Replacement Machine It functions well so far mechanically and has no noticeable defects, scratches etc. Perfect condition. 🟩Overall Tineco gets an A+ for customer service! They were friendly and helpful. They also checked with me via email and phonecall to make sure the machine met my satisfaction. **Original Review* I like my Tineco. It does exactly what it promises to do. Its light weight & takes up very little space. Its also easy use and clean. I use it on average 2 or 3x a week. I bought this version because it has a ( nice, very long) cord. I like to go over surfaces repeatedly and don't want to feel rushed because of the battery constraints of other models. I purchased this machine as gifts for family and finally bought one for myself Dec. 2023 since my family like their machines. 🔸️Cleaning Pros: This machine maneuvers easily. I love the steam clean feature. It picks up everything leaving my tiled floor sparkling. Its also wonderful on wood floors too. 🔸️Cleaning Cons: My only complaint is that I do have to clean corners by hand. This machine simply cannot reach those areas but there are newer models that can. Again I bought this model because of the cord. Its now Feb. 2025 and unfortunately just when I was about to use it, the base inexplicably just crumbled and the empty Dirty water tank fell off. The machine is still under warranty. I contacted Tineco and so far it seems promising. I will update my review in regards to my repair/ warranty experience once it's concluded.so far the customer service has been very nice.

BEST PURCHASE I EVER MADE!
This is quite literally the best purchase I have ever made in my entire life. I did not know how different owning this device would make my life, but it has improved it significantly. For starters, my husband and I have owned the same not great, very old shark vacuum since we met almost 8 years ago. I bought this as we now own three dogs and have a toddler and I needed a more efficient way to clean our house. Compared to our old vacuum, this one is lighter, so I don't find it quite heavy at all. After reading the instructions and looking at the vacuum, it was clear that it was very easy to function and clean. Any pieces that need to be cleaned are easy to get to which makes maintenance after being used easy as well. The cord is quite long and can reach a good distance so I can clean a lot more surface area without having to unplug and replug in a different section of the house. The self clean function works great, however, with the amount of pet hair I have in my home, I do find myself needing to clean the brush roll even after self clean. However, this is extremely easy to do as the brush roll simply pops in and out of the vacuum. So if you do own a lot of pets that shed quite often like mine, just be aware you will need to do self clean on the vacuum a bit more often and you will need to clean the brush roll as well. It's honestly not as difficult as it sounds. The self clean cycle takes probably around five minutes. I have not used it to clean up big wet spills such as a container of SpaghettiOs, however I have no doubt that this device could pick it up with ease. The only issue would be it might have you self clean immediately after. It picks up standing water with ease and left our house so clean, my husband was impressed by the smell left behind, which was absolutely nothing. Just clean. No dog smell, no dust smell, just clean. You will also be shocked by the dirty water dumps and just how much dirt is picked up off of your floor. The steam function is great, just understand it takes about a minute to fully get to full steam function. I honestly found the vacuum more effective with a regular cycle first and then spot steam cleaning as needed. The biggest issue I have with this vacuum is that I did not purchase it sooner. I cannot emphasize again how well this product works. You can't use any cleaner in the tanks, but honestly it gets the house so clean I can't see why you would need it anyways. I was also unsure if I would like the fact that it tells you what it needs, however I have come to really like it.

UPDATE! Dead 2 weeks after 2 year warrantee. Planned obsolescence.
UPDATE Two years later: So apparently one of the known issues with these is that the hose brakes where it connects at the base to suck up the debris and water. I called Tineco because it’s TWO weeks out of the 2 year warranty. They were willing to make an exception, if I ship back the machine at my expense and then if they can not fix it, I forfeit the machine and they just keep it. I’m just out the total amount I paid. They won’t return it. Same thing if you PAY to send it in - $75 and if they decide it can’t be fixed, they just use it for parts and I’m out the money. I’m sorry I don’t trust that situation and this seems like an easy way to get resellable working machines with a little repair. They can just say they aren’t fixable and keep them. There is no replacement hose part available for this model like there are some of the other models FYI or I would do it myself. I’m going to go to a plumbing supply store and hopefully I can find a hose that works and glue it in myself and get a little bit more use out of this, but I will not be buying another one of these machines and I suggest that you don’t buy one either either because they clearly are planned to be obsolete just as the warrantee ends. I don’t know why people rave about these. They’re OK but not amazing and I did expect more for $400. I first bought a Bissell crosswave steam and it was also OK but it was LOUD and pretty heavy. I saw some comparisons that this machine worked better (paper towel on the floor test). Maybe I am too much of a clean freak but the biggest issues I have after a side by side test comparison are: 1. The rollers are horrible. They BARELY touch the surface of the floor. Why? Why not use the one with stuff bristles like the Bissell cross wave steam to actually drub a bit??? Makes no sense. The Bissell at least clearly was touching the tile. 2. It’s JANKEY. The components such as the water tank, hard to click in and don’t set exactly right. The same with the dirty water tank AND because the top of the machine leans forward, one of the times I was testing it I didn’t have it clicked in and it fell out, dumping water all over. Bissell was a solid feeling construction and easy to put in both tanks. I guess the good news is at least the wet mop picked up the spilt water but it just doesn’t sit right. Same with the handle. It took me forever to get the handle to click in and now I can’t figure out how to get it to un click for my small storage area. Jankey. Is it cleaning the floor? Yea. Better than bissel crosswave steam? Yea. I did a side-by-side with both machines, and then I tested by wiping a strip down the center with white magic erasers, and I will say that the Tineco did pick up more dirt. Ultimately that’s what matters but if you’re looking for some miracle cleaning machine this isn’t it.

An honest one-year-later review of the Tineco CORDED Wet Dry Vacuum Steam Mop
What we love: •We are SUPER THANKFUL we went for the corded version as it will not quit until we are done —unlike the cordless version that has a short run and a long recharge time (more on this later) •The cable is really, really long so we do not even need an extension chord get to all our rooms •It cleans much, much better than your hand-mop •It ABSOLUTELY obliterates all the robotic vacuums currently in the market —we own several Roborock and Narwal Flow robot vacuums and neither comes close to this machine •Even if your floors looks clean, one pass with this machine will make you realize just how much dirt is left behind even from wet-hand-mopping (we have white floors, so we can really see the difference when the sunlight hits the floor while we steam-mop) •It glides beautifully on both, hardwood floors and tiles •The steam feature is what makes this thing SHINE, literally —stick on messes are no match for the steam! •The steam is ready to use within seconds —and it is easy to know when it is ready thanks to the LED color ring •The clean and dirty tanks are extremely easy to remove •The voice prompts are very convenient •The self-cleaning option is a very welcome addition —but when we go a step above by removing everything and hand drying before putting it away •We recently had some renovations involving sheet-rock (if you have ever dealt with that, you know how hard it is to get rid of that dust from your floors) after manually sweeping, we still saw dust. We sent the robotic vacuums ...and still saw some dust. Then, we used this machine with the steaming on and IT DID THE MIRACLE —Yes, no more sheet-rock dust on our floors! What a prospect buyer should know: •It requires that you place it on its base in order to self-clean so make sure you place the base in a convenient location •When using the steam, it goes through the clean water quickly —so you will need to refill the clean water tank quite often, but that is super easy to do •The cable is built really tough so it will not break easily —unless you are super rough with it, of course •This will (unfortunately) not fit behind the toilet seat due to its dimensions •Since it cannot lay flat you cannot (sadly) get it under low-profile furniture •If you are on the fence between the corded version and the cordless version, we strongly advice that you go for the corded version —not only because you are not constricted on the time you will be able to run it, but mainly because (as per the owner's manual) in the cordless version the battery warranty is really, really short, so if the battery goes bad, so does your entire machine with no warranty from the manufacturer After one year of owning this machine it is still running as it did the first day. Yes, it was pricey when we bought it, but it was money well-spent. We cannot wait until (hopefully) robotic vacuums integrate steam so that we can (finally) go hands-free. In the meantime, this workhorse will do. Yes, there is a new version of this item out there, but we strongly suggest that, if you are on a budget, you purchase this vacuum now that it is on sale for it will really pay off.

Durability, extraction, streaking, groutlines
The Tineco is one product I have 6 of, both corded and cordless. As a surgeon, OR nurse and PA, cleaning an Operating Room for the next patient is meticulously done to reduce staff infection, as well as many items seen under a microscope that would surprise most patients. I have used Tineco, Symphony, Crosswave and other vacuum steam mops. I thoroughly clean with OR disinfectants that the regular public doesn't have access too. I tested cleanliness with consumer products versus Operating Room products. After a washing of both machine parts and observing under a microscope, if rollers, and the complete Tineco is cleaned as directed, there was, as you would imagine, a % of dirt and bacteria that was present on the parts like rollers which are being redistributed onto your floor. Using Isopropyl alcohol with no less than 70% added with dissolved Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda + bleach/Clorox Cleanup in spray bottle or a combination with Lysol with Hydrogen Peroxide multi-purpose cleaner is an excellent choice. THE KEY: with all cleaning is just that, keep your machine parts washed, sanitized /disinfected after every use is super important. Think of these machines which are costly, like a car that needs regular oil changes, filters, brakes, etc...in working order and the extra time in prevention far outweighs griping and complaining when the unit fails. PREVENTION is the key. I use Bissel demineralized water with the Tineco cleaning formula. After trying to cut corners using other cleaning products, which I realize, their cleaning solution is expensive, has the best results on tile, porcelain and wood. MY STEPS: vacuum floors completely, Then, I use a large jug to mix my cleaning formula to save time when I need to refill clean water tank, I have a brush on a handle if there is something that their roller brushes just won't get up (I have requested from the company they offer roller heads, like Bissel offers with cloth heads, scrubbing rollers for those of you that have children or pets that "one roller fits all" is not what consumers need). If they are going to charge exorbitant prices for these machines, consumers of all class levels, need a reasonable choice that doesn't break the bank. Depending on the size of your cleaning area, I change my rollers after every couple of rooms or at least clean and wash them quickly to avoid streaking. Walk backwards preventing foot marks, lean to the side into the light to see if there are spots you missed or might need to be gone over again, I carry a spray bottle of 511 Kleen & Reseal, the best cleaning and resealing product on the market for granite, marble, natural stone, ceramic & porcelain Tile and Grout (not wood) spray and go over with Tineco machine, let everything dry and see anyplace I missed. The cleanup of machine is time consuming, so the vacuuming is imperative because if there is hair or debris in dirty water tank, DO NOT THROW IN YOUR SINK OR GARBAGE DISPOSER which will cause clogging in your pipes, throw it outside in the planters after picking out hair or larger pieces of debris. It seems like more work than it's worth, but it is better than hand mopping which spreads dirt around rather than extracting it to be thrown away. Well worth the money especially when they are on sale. That's when I purchase more than one, cordless is great in any room that needs a quick clean-up when you get it on sale. Happy cleaning!

Just uses water and cleans great
Love this thing! We found our house infested with fleas thanks to an infested vet office. That means vacuuming and ckeaning everything almost every day for weeks on end. We bought this to help us through. We used this on our entire house evety other day. The steam is great for our hardwood floors and tiles. We do our couple rooms with laminate without the steam. Our floors have had zero damage from it's use and our laminate is the old HD cheap stuff. It uses less water than anything else we've used before and yet, the water still comes out black. Our house feels so good after using it. We have an asthmatic cat and frangrance sensitive family members, so the fact it just uses water was the reason we bought it. No expensive bottles of cleaner to buy and no worrying about the smell. Been there, hated that. Cleaning the unit afterwards is pretty easy. It only takes a couple minutes. We empty the dirty water tank, fill the clean water tank, and push the button on top to start the self cleaning cycle. We run it 3 times. Then empty both tanks, rinse and wipe the dirty one, leeave both tanks open on a shelf nearby to dry out, put the roller and extra filter on the stand, wipe the roller area and call it done. If you take care of it and use it properly, it's excellent. It came with an extra roller and filter. Set up was easy, using it is kinda fun. I wish it had a light in the front, but other than that, I have no complaints. The cord is great because when you're doing a couple thousand feet of flooring, the last thing you want to do is stop and wait for recharging. The cord is long and I only need to move it a few times. It surprised me how far I could go. It goes right to the edge of my floors and under most furniture easily. With the steam, I know those edges are clean and the suction is powerful enough to do what it's supposed to do. I'm happy enough that the steamer has been made to work hard every other day and it just does what it's supposed to do. I'm happy using it. If it broke, I would buy another one tomorrow.

Pets + Solid surface floors = Buy This
Tried multiple different steam mops that all worked okay, but nowhere close to Tineco's S5 wet + steam vac! We have two adult huskies that shed their weight in hair everyday and a Great Dane who drools all over the floor whenever he eats a treat. We replaced most carpet in house with tile for obvi reasons. However, due to our hairy, mud-tracking, treat-drooling doggy-hounds-mutts, our floors still require regular cleaning. This is a pain for numerous reasons, most importantly because I'm lazy. This fab machine dispenses water onto the floor and simultaneously scrubs the floor with a semi-soft roller while the vac sucks up the nastiness & sends it to a separate dirty water jail. For deep cleaning, which is everyday for us, you press a button and steam gets mixed into the aforementioned smorgasbord cleaning process. Now that I've wasted your time by summarizing what you've already watched in the product video, I'll note some useful info. - There are basically two modes: Auto and Auto + Steam. I thought there would be different modes to choose from, but I was as wrong as Santa hookin up with the Easter bunny. This isn't necessarily a con (not the Santa - Bunny thing, Santa would undoubtedly end up as a con if that happened!) because the machine is smart, like 5th grade smart, and automatically takes care of adjusting water flow, steam volume, suction power etc. With that said, I don't know why they call it auto mode as that implies there is at least a manual mode to select from, which there is not. Practically speaking, you can turn the machine on to operate (water+roller scrubber+vacuum), or you can turn the machine on & add steam (steam+water+roller scrubber+vacuum). - No clue how to use it as a dry vac since there are only two buttons for operation, the 'On' (auto) button & the Steam button. My guess is you refrain from filling the machine's clean water tank, in which case turning the unit on = roller scrubber + vacuum. However the roller scrubber is def for hard floors, not carpet. Beats me. - About 5 mins into using the machine, it tells me to run the self clean. Presumably there's a sensor that determines how dirty the roller scrubber is and once it reaches a certain level of dirtiness, the lady in the machine hells at me to run self clean cycle. I expected it would take more than 5 minutes of use before requiring a self-cleaning cycle. So, either this is a poor design flaw or our floors are just that dirty. - The function named Self Clean cycle is misleading & should be renamed 'We Clean Cycle' - It's self propelled, which is a great feature but I don't remember seeing the self-propelled feature being called out anywhere in product features....though I only skimmed the product description at best, if at all. - Long chord to trip over (or get wound up in), which is great because you don't have to repeatedly plug into a closer outlet nor drag a generator behind you - Quiet - For such a powerful sucker (& scrubber) this puppy is much less noisy than I would've expected. Again, This might be called out in the product description that I didn't really read, which is the same approach you should take as you can then be delightfully surprised by the machine's features too! In summary, in would buy it again (assuming it was on sale again!) and you should too, especially if you have pets (dogs, cats, children, iguanas, etc) and solid-surface floors. If you have carpet floors, buy a vacuum cleaner.

Amazing product!
I could not be more thrilled with my choice to purchase this Tineco. I researched different brands and price points, and felt the amount of this machine was very fair for what it claimed it would do. I HIGHLY recommend this Tineco. My hardwood floors were just not feeling clean and showing so many streaks even though I was only using water/vinegar mixture and a mop. I was spending more time on my hands and knees buffing out the streaks and was not happy. First use of this Tineco and I was absolutely AMAZED. So simple to use, took so much less time than my old mopping way did, and the floors were like brand new again. The water tank that I needed to empty was disgusting so the next day I redid all the floors and again had some grayish water to empty, but the floors looks super clean and the steam leaves a "steam clean" freshness behind which I love. I am a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning so when I find something as amazing as this machine I have no problem telling everyone about it! For the price this is a total game changer for me. The model I got is plug in not battery, the cord is super long, it is easy to maneuver and glides over the floor easily, the power of the steam is great and does not leave any excess water, and it is simple to take apart and clean after use.
