I first ordered a charger which was cheaper from another brand (a really good brand), and it was capable of charging 2 batteries on the same time. However I did a lot of research, and I found that those chargers are missing the 3rd pin, which connects to the battery's temperature sensor, in order to charge it in a "healthy" way, and because of this I ended up by cancelling the delivery. In terms of quality and what it can do, this charger has no competition. If you want to charge only one battery in a "healty" way, this is the charger to go with. If you want to charge 2 batteries on the same time, you can either use this one to charge one battery and charge the other in camera, or go with a 3rd party charger from a known brand , but it might not protect the battery so good, and the batteries are expensive. You might save money on the charger, but invest more to buy batteries, so you will end up by spending more. This is considerred an expensive item and people are asking why is this not included with the camera. The other thing that I will mention cause I see a lot of detabates - is the price. I will try to explain why this is happening. The reason why this is not included with the camera is that the company already works on lower profit margins with the cheper models, and it would make no sense for them to include an item which can bring some profit. This is similar to the gaming insdustry when it comes about consoles. They make almost no profit by selling consoles, but they make a lot of money from selling the games. When it comes to the higher-end models this charger is included. When it comes about price, there is a reason why it is so expensive - and this is because of the counterfeit items - and this item is being counterfeit in large volumes. When a big company has to deal with this, they do fight against the counterfeit industry, but this comes with a cost. Those teams who work on this area are really big teams, and those are people with special skills. They also have a lot of lawyers, and because the most conterfeit items are made in other countries, international lawsuits are costly. The big companies are investing in this area, but then the money needs to come from somwehere, so this it's being reflected on the cost of the product. Also, big companies, when compared with the 3rd party ones, have more expenses, like bigger and nicer headquarters, better marketing etc, which again is reflecting in the cost of the product. Also, if something goes bad, you are still covered under warranty, if you use a genuine charger. This needs to be covered by a department, and repairing the cameras or replacing them represnts a cost which is again reflected on the cost of the product. Third party companies do not have a team for this, or a cost for replacing your camera, therefore they can afford make and sell cheaper products. One more thing to mention when it comes about chargers - I remember there was a case a few years ago of someone buying a counterfeit cheap charger (that was a phone charger), and usually when there is a short-circuit in the system, the charger cuts off the power(on genuine chargers), but on that cheap counterfeit charger instead of cutting off the power, it cut off the power limit and it put 230 Volts in the phone, and because the person was using the phone on that moment, you can imagine what impact it had.... So, in the end it might not be about your battery, or about your camera, but the extra money might save your life. :)

Charges fast and runs cool. The status light is basic but reliable. Way better than juggling USB dummies on wedding days, this sits on the prep table and just works.

Expensive but charges batteries far more quickly than in camera.
