Rebel Heart Tour[Purple Galaxy Swirl 2 LP]

Excellent concert to watch from home, better than to be there in real time because you can appreciate everything so much better and if you want to re-watch it all or a particular section, then just rewind it! Excellent product! I love it!

I admit it was an easy decision for me to get this edition of the Madonna Rebel Heart tour dvd and cd set both because I have been a Madonna fan since around the age of 14 and because I purchased her Rebel Heart super deluxe edition set back in February 22, 2015 and greatly enjoyed the music collection from that edition. Additionally, I enjoyed the brilliant opening of the Iconic song feat. Mike Tyson and Chance the Rapper for the live concert showing and my husband liked the outfit Madonna wore for that song. Madonna performed her concert brilliantly on this edition of the Madonna Rebel Heart tour dvd and live cd set and I very much feel that I obtained my money’s worth. However, I have to admit that my current concert favorites from this edition of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour DVD/CD set are; My husband felt that there was a particular concert segment that was a creative nod to the 1920s era because of the glittery costumes that Madonna and her dancers were wearing during the songs such as Candy Shop while I wondered if that performance was a musical tribute to both Great Gatsby movies (both the 1974 film version and the 2013 film edition)for whatever reason (although I believe that Madonna uniquely made the performance her own especially with the references to Paris Club and Bisou Bisou that I noticed). I also greatly enjoyed the concert performances of the Body Shop, Deeper and Deeper and the concert performance of Like a Prayer that is on the special features edition. However, the selection of songs across Madonna’s career convey a tour/cd edition that is for many people even if you are a newbie to her music because she selects dance/pop melodies from the 80s such as Burning Up and Dress You Up, dance pop from the 90s with songs such as Vogue and the 2000s with tunes such as the Music song, and more. There were some celebrity cameos in Madonna’s concert as well such as Katie Perry, Idris Alba, Anderson Cooper, Amy Schumer, Britney Spears, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Arianna Grande, Diplo etc.

Vinyl arrived fast and in great shape. Great set of songs on this album and tour. This was a great tour and the song choice reflects that. She is the Queen of Pop and I believe she is the best Female musical artists of all time. Nobody can change my mind on that one.

I didn't see this tour, but I remember watching videos from it online and I enjoyed the songs. So I pre-ordered this CD set and got it this morning. I'm not a huge fan of live recordings, but there are some that I enjoy very much. This is a great show, and the sound quality is excellent on most of it. I like the arrangements of most of the songs, too. Burning Up has some awesome guitar in it. My favorites: Iconic, Burning Up, Body Shop, Deeper and Deeper, HeartBreak City, True Blue, Rebel Heart, Material Girl, and Holiday. If you like live recordings/shows, I recommend it.

Okay - this is a cinematic expression of the concert. It brings a new, theatrical experience to the concert. Yes, there are shots of different outfits during the same song. Yes, they bring up lots of folks for Unapologetic Bitch and show lots of flags during Holiday. But this was a world tour, and the concert demonstrates that, unapologetically. I watched the concert live. I then watched this DVD. The DVD brings my experience at the concert to a new level - it's like watching a movie that evokes emotion. If you liked Hard Candy and MDNA, then you will be used to the style of editing. If you want Blonde Ambition or Girlie Show, then try to watch this with an open mind. It's all about love :)

I'm in the category of big Madonna fan! I've seen her in concert five times. I always like watching her shows even though I've seen them in person because between the slight intoxication of being there, and the fact that depending on where you sit, there is much that gets missed for sure. I am giving this four stars because it looks and sounds great. It is one of her better shows overall, though she will probably not ever top her Blonde Ambition outing from 1990. It's as good as Confessions was, although it had a bit more diversity this time and that's a plus. Madonna seems effortless on the stage, as usual, barely loses her breath or seems to have her makeup run. It's a nicely mixed production of old and new with some clever twists on favorites that still keep the essence of the original in check, which is what I think most fans want when they drop the loot to go and see her. I understand why this took so long to come out. The editing time spent on this must have been hundreds of hours. Depending on what you like in a performance of a live show, this is perhaps a plus or a minus. For me, it's a minus. I was distracted by the fact that one song had dozens of edits from many different performances, and I don't know that this gives a very good idea of what it's like to see Madonna if you've not already. It also comes across as rather vain on Madonna's part. I would have preferred to have watched each performance in its entirety without all the fancy additions. The stop-start motion and added animation are not true to the in-person experience and that is why I don't give it five stars. It basically looks like a music video from beginning to end, and again that is personal preference I suppose. Madonna is a better singer than when she started out years ago, that is for sure. The meticulousness involved in her shows is nothing short of miraculous. It is some of her best work and I look forward to the next one. The clown show was underwhelming, but I'm not using that as part of my star rating.
