Great purchase. Tall and holds lots of dirty diapers. Like the foot pedal to open the top to push the dirty diapers in and there is no smell coming from the diaper genie.

So we live in a condo complex so we don't have a backyard all to ourself. We are very conscientious owners and clean up with poopie bags and then have just been throwing them in our trash can in the garage but even double and triple bagged it still smells and we have to constantly wash out our trash can because the smell is sooo bad. We got this on a whim and our garage smells fresh now, no stinky trash can either!

The Diaper Genie is not a trash can. Oh no, friends. This is an ancient artifact forged in the bowels of Mount Doom to contain the most evil forces known to mankind: baby diapers. Every time I step on the pedal, it hisses open like it’s demanding a sacrifice. I toss in a loaded diaper, and with a dark whisper, it twists the foulness into a plastic cocoon, sealing it away like some unholy relic. I swear I heard Gregorian chanting the first time I used it. It’s honestly too powerful. Left unchecked, the Genie becomes a writhing snake of diapers, each one stacked in an endless sausage link of shame. Open it, and the smell is so catastrophic it could probably be used in biological warfare. Yet, I can’t stop. It’s addictive. The Genie calls to me in the night: “Feed me your filth. Only I can contain it.” I fear one day it will grow too strong and rise against us, diaper chain and all. 10/10—sealed my baby’s doomsday diapers like the cursed sorcery it is. Would buy again.

Works great! Would use generic bags

So... got this in December because of a smaller space. And wanted a better air tight solution. It still has a slight odor, once you open the top to put in the diaper, the stench is far reaching. Which should be expected. But as the bin fulls up, it starts to crack open and the sent would leak out the spaces. At one point I had resorted to putting a paper weight on top just to keep it close. The bag wasn’t even full. I’ve had mind for about 5 or 6 months. It broke at 4-5 months. But I’m determined not to make my money go to waste. The compartment that holds waste, is hard to open when the bag is full. And it was during one of theses attempts, which I thought I was getting better at, that the we bottom clips that keep it, so the door tilts, broke. It closes shut, and is surprisingly easier to get the waste out when the bag is full. But it’s still broken. With baby number two on the way, I am contemplating replacing this one in the fall, but I want to increase my use of reusable diapers as oppose to disposable ones. And the diaper genie isn’t ideal for reusable diapers.

Huge improvement over a regular garbage can with lid. It really does seal the smell. I use it for toy-size dog diapers and poop bags - the pail is right by the back door in my jewelry studio. Needless to say I am thrilled not to have to smell poop in my studio any more!! Wish I had known about it sooner!

It’s flimsy when we received it. This is our second time buying it. The first one we bought it 4 years ago. Not sure if it’s because of delivery or the quality of it. Truly disappointing
