Great Clock!
My very significant other bought me this clock for a present, many years ago. It survived a number of generations of felines, who playfully used the a/c cord for a toy. Cats think that anything that moves is fair game, including my toes. However, after more than 20 years, the original clock hit square on the very top, which houses the button to snooze, or turn on the night display light, etc. It did not survive. So I researched buying another one. Emailing my plight to the people at Oregon Scientific - the manufacturer - I asked if they had a repair service. They did not, but would give me a discount to buy a new one from their web site. Too bad their ethics are not as good as their products. Naturally, I searched for this, and other atomic-synched clocks, and found that Amazon sold the very same, newly updated - to include inside temperature - clock, which looked identical to the one which the cats decided had lasted long enough. Even better, Amazon charged much less than the manufacturer would have charged, had they kept their word and offered a discount. So I saved a bunch of money, while replacing my all-time favorite alarm clock with a brand new, complete with inside temperature, atomic-synched clock. A push of a button will put a display of the time on your ceiling, or wall, as well as light up the front display. And the accuracy cannot be beat, as it truly does synch to the atomic clocks, just like most Windows PCs do. I can now sleep in peace, knowing that this alarm clock will not fail to wake me - in increasingly louder chirps - when I must get up in the morning, and that I can see how long it is taking me to get to sleep, because of the bright and clear display. It's a great clock, and it's time you treated yourself and maybe your kids, too. After all, the blue one is in a nearly clear case, so the kids can see the inner workings of this neat little, functional toy.

Great clock for my 7-year old
Purchased this so my 7-year old can wake up on his own for school. I checked several stores and was dissapointed to find nothing suitable for a child (didn't want radio, CD, telephone, and other features). ** Pros ** 1. Very compact size, fits good next to bed 2. AC adapter with battery backup (even came with batteries) 3. LCD display doesn't have annoying illumination while trying to sleep. Blue "glow" activates only when very easy to find button is pressed 4. Straight forward buttons and controls that took about 2-3 minutes for my 7-year old to learn. Buttons are a good size and are not real hard to press. 5. Great styling as a kids clock 6. The projection feature is a BIG hit. Projects about 4" high numbers on ceiling. 7. Projection intensity is good for laying in bed at night without lighting up the whole room 8. Decent construction for the $$$ ** Cons ** 1. None for my particular application NOTE: If you are looking for a projection clock to use during the day (visible projection in sunlight), you will be extremely disappointed

great lil clock
I went to a friend's house and admired this clock there. It was so simple but I wanted one. I love how the time is projected so clearly onto the ceiling. It is also nice to have a clock that shows the temperature. The alarm sound is a pleasant one (important for me that it isn't obnoxious) and yet is loud enough to wake you. Since it is atomic, you don't have to re set it after a power outage. One drawback is that in order to illuminate the front screen, you must click the button on top and then it glows for maybe 8 seconds. But it's fine with me because at night the clock doesn't illuminate the room- and you can see the time on the ceiling anyway! I have given this as a gift, and if I had kids I would put one in their room also. For the price, or even twice the price, this is a great and reliable clock with many cool features.

Great idea, but cheaply made
This is the third of these clocks we have purchased. I guess we keep buying them because they tend to work for a while and it is a great idea in theory. The $15 price tag makes them semi-disposable and I have to admit that the alarm function works as described and has never failed. The issue is mainly with the projection. They usually work great for the first few months, but after a while sections of the projection begins to fail and within the space of a year or two there isn't enough of the projection visible to be able to decipher the time. Also only works in a fairly dark room. If you have a bedside light with a bulb over 40 watts you probably won't be able to see the projection on the ceiling until you turn the light off. Still, in the middle of the night it's pretty cool to be able to glance up at the ceiling without having to fumble for your glasses or roll over and look at the nightstand to check the time. All that said, it had been a couple years since we purchased our last atomic clock and it was time to replace the current one. When we received our clock this time there were a few changes. The casing feels a bit lighter (more cheaply made) and the digital display is not as bold. The numbers and text are a bit smaller/harder to see than the previous model. Could have lived with that, but when we plugged it in and turned on the projection...this clock projected the time UPSIDE DOWN from the previous two units we've owned. Makes it really hard to read the time. You'd have to turn the clock to face the wall next to your bedside to see the time projected right side up...but the problem with that is that there is a slight angle to the projection and the time is now projected on the wall instead of the ceiling. Sending this one back!

My husband bought a similar one a few years ago, in silver and it came from the UK. After a few years, I decided I wanted the same one, but couldn't find one. The closest to it we could find was this one. It's a bit different, see through, nice blue instead of silver and it comes from the US. It took quite a while to arrive, If I remember well, it didn't arrive on time for xmas (I took my husband's old one, and wanted to give him this new one at xmas). But when it arrived, we were happy with it. It displays the temperature and the alarm sounds a bit different from the original one. Now we both have a clock from Oregon Scientific, and quite frankly, we wouldn't have any other kind of clock. They are brilliant, if a bit on the expensive side. Those clocks are going to last us a lifetime, I'm sure. We've had the original one a good 5 years or more... and we expect it will go on forever, just as this new one ! They change automatically to summer/winter time and are fairly easy to set. Well worth the expense, I would say.

Leider ist der Adapter aus Amerika und die Fahrenheit lässt sich nicht umschalten. Ansonsten wäre es ein super Produkt. LG

This is a no nonsense alarm clock. We love this unit because it provides a very clear projection on the ceiling. There is no focus no arm to break everything is static and just works. The GPS configuration works reliably during daylight savings time changes - more reliable than an iPhone. With little ones in the house waking up late in the night - it is helpful to have the time visually accessible - so you know exactly how much sleep you have lost that night. While I am not so keen on the plastic look we enjoy the functionality of the unit. We have gifted a few of these and we did have one die but that was at the deadly hands of a three year-old seeing how time flies. I highly recommend this cool little time piece.

We had this clock for years until my son broke it when playing with it. The best part about it is that it auto-adjusts the time with the atomic clock making it the only reliable clock in the house during daylight savings changes. The first clock worked for about 7 years before it was broken in the accident.
