Stay away from products with zero reviews. Pretty gadget but it's not about the looks. Once I started slicing I knew it wasn't going to be OK. A good cheese plane (slicer) should cut through the cheeses like... well, like through the cheese. I noticed immediately that some extra pressure was needed to slice and when it came to the end of the block, instead of a smooth finish and a nice slice, it just ripped one big chunk. Over the years I've been faithful to a couple of Scandinavian cheese planes. I still believe they make the best ones. Some of them are here on amazon priced about the same or just a bit more.On a side note, I have another product by this same company and it works surprisingly well, but no, not this one.
