Ceylon Cinnamon has many great health benefits. So I was surprised to see that none of those benefits are mentioned on the packaging. I got it to spice up some of my herbal tea blends, and also to help my dad lower his cholesterol, and to help my mom with inflammation and joint issues. But it's for boosting my health as well, and right from the start, this smells very different from your average kitchen cinnamon. It smells very interesting, sweet and complex in its aroma. I really like it so far. The 3 inch sticks are pretty easy to break into smaller pieces, and when I used my mortar and pestle, it broke apart exactly like thin wood shavings would. It actually looked just like pieces of bark from a tree. This ceylon cinnamon definitely adds some sweetness, deeper flavor, and spice to my herbal tea blends, and it has a lot of potential for many different recipes. Although my powdered ceylon smells and tastes much sweeter and fresher, I like these sticks for use in my tea formulations, since the powder doesn't really work. I love the fact that it's very warming to the system, helping to ease inflammation and joint pain, and increasing circulation, which always positively affects brain functioning. Good stuff, ready to reorder.

My brother and I decided to order "Coconut Country Living's organic Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks" because they appeared to be the most natural, cost friendly option for our first time trying this type of cinnamon. We only just heard about it for the first time in our homebrewing club a couple weeks ago. The first thing we decided to use it in was a homemade honey and cinnamon ice cream, which we had made before (for a fun comparison). This was NOT the same ice cream. The ceylon cinnamon added a sweetness, aroma and kick to the ice cream that just blew our minds. Bite after bite we couldn't believe what we were tasting. We are very excited at the winemaking projects we have planned for this wonderful organic ceylon cinnamon, the first of which will be a blackberry cinnamon mead :)

I read many reviews about possibly not getting good-quality sticks but was very happy with my package. Right from opening the seal, the aroma of fresh cinnamon took over. All the sticks were clean and easy to crumble. I use mine for making homemade tonic water and ceylon is one of the aromatics in my tincture.

I use a cinnamon stick in my coffee each morning. These have a wonderful, distinct flavor. The only thing I would caution others who steep the stick in coffee or tea: be careful drinking, especially after an hour or so. The cinnamon stick flakes off into sharp shards. I’ve almost choked on them twice now. This wouldn’t prevent me from purchasing this again, however. I’ll just be more cautious drinking my coffee going forward.

This is not a strong as the ones that they call cinnamon which are not really cinnamon but I am very impressed with the flavor and quality. If you want the real deal this is it! I also use my coffee grinder to make some powder when I need it so it is versatile to buy the sticks rather than pre-ground which actually holds flavor better when it is kept in its original form rather than storing it as powder when you buy it pre-ground.

I saw several reviews saying these cinnamon sticks were terrible and had no flavor, and then of course others that raved about the flavor. My take is, when I first opened the bag, I was disappointed because it didn't have much of an aroma; upon putting one in my mouth to taste it, it didn't really have any taste, but then I put one in my cup of tea and all the flavor came through! It has a great aroma and the flavor is very nice. If you want these to suck/chew on, maybe not the best, but great in another medium as it release its full flavor. Not sure if that help anyone. I would buy them again because they are Ceylon cinnamon.

Love the flavor and scent of this organic cinnamon. There is nothing like this that I have tasted as good as this brand. If you don't believe pick up a small container at your local super market, buy this brand and sample the differences. You will notice it immediately!
