Are seams French or single-stitched?

I'm not sure what a French seam is but the seam is finished off very neatly. These bags are very sturdy. We ordered them over a year ago. They are 100% cotton and they can take a "lick'in". At least 2 times a week we throw them down 2 flights of steps and they are as good as new. I hope this helps you. I would buy them.

Will colored laundry bleed onto the beige bag?

I have never had that happen. I have been very happy with these laundry bags.

Will the opening of this bag fit over the opening of a 14in x 14in hamper? Looking for a hamper bag.

I don't have a 14" hamper to try it on---the bag is 24" wide so if you measure the length and width of your opening and the total is less than 24", I would think it would work.
