Effective for relief of dry, flaky skin
This petroleum based product reminds me of diluted Vaseline, but doesn't smell as much and is able to be slathered more smoothly. I used it for just a few days on my lower legs and it improved the dry, flaky skin and they look much better now.. I plan to keep using it even though it left my hand very slippery. I just needed to have a paper towel handy to clean my hand. Pretty good value given the size of the container and how much it takes to cover a large area.

Great for dry heels
I ordered this to compare to another brand of lotion with similar traits. I am happy to report that the Amazon brand works just as well as the name brand, but at a much better price. I put it on my heels every day before work. Works wonders.

Very Good Not TOO Greasy Soothing Ointment - Very Reasonable Price
This is great ointment for many situations. Most lotions are focused on non-greasy with water and alcohol bases, which is good in a lot of uses, but wash away easily. Petroleum jelly is, indeed, greasy because it is, well, grease. This ointment is a good middle option. It’s petroleum jelly based, but, contains other ingredients like lanolin that reduces the thick greasy feel. But, it also hangs in better, even when perspiration or water exposure is present.

A Solid, Value-Packed Alternative to Aquaphor
I've used this ointment on my hands, elbows, and lips through some dry winter weather. It creates a solid protective barrier that lasts through hand washing and daily activities. While it doesn't feel quite as heavy-duty as Aquaphor upon application, it still effectively soothes dry skin and prevents moisture loss. I found it particularly good for daytime use when I want protection without the heavy, greasy feel. Compared to Aquaphor, the Amazon version is slightly less thick and spreads more easily. While Aquaphor might have a slight edge for extremely dry, cracked areas that need maximum protection, the Basics ointment handles 90% of what most people need from a protective ointment. If you're budget-conscious or go through a lot of healing ointment, this is absolutely worth trying. The minor difference in thickness is easily outweighed by the significant savings. It's perfect for everyday dry skin maintenance, lip protection, and general first-aid needs. I'll continue using it as my primary ointment for most situations. TLDR: Pros: · Excellent value - it truly is about half the price of brand-name alternatives · Performs the core function of protecting and moisturizing dry skin very well · Sinks into the skin a bit faster than thicker ointments · Works great on dry patches, cuticles, and minor rough spots · The large tube is convenient and lasts a long time Cons: · Not quite as thick or viscous as Aquaphor · The texture feels slightly less rich upon application

Well done Amazon.
Well, I can say this works for my hands - I use it with cotton gloves at night and my hands are like silk in the morning. Pure petroleum jelly is a tad sticky for me but this, at 41%, works better without mucking up my cotton gloves. Does a good job of moisturizing and healing extremely dry cuticles.

Fantastic
Same exact ingredients as Aquaphor however it’s not as thick. I actually like it better! The consistency is more like a Vaseline. Oh and you pretty much get (2) for the price of (1) Aquaphor!!

Staple with small kids-esp any in diapers
Good size, decent quality, solid purchase all around. Felt comparable to Aquaphor.
