Keychain flashlights are really handy tools to always have with you. However, my last two models have had the problem of turning themselves on in my pocket and then when I need to use them, the batter is dead or almost dead. My last one was a high quality Fenix 03R (not V 2.0). It has 4 brightness levels where the lowest has a very long runtime and the the highest was very bright. It also had a separate red light with one brightness level and a flashing function. The button was perfectly flush with the body and it charged via USB-C. If it wasn't always dead it would've been the ideal keychain flashlight. It was very good and very useful when it was working. However, almost every time I took it out to use it wouldn't turn on or would flash twice (indicating low battery) and then turn off. It had a lockout function, but I never go into the habit of using the lock-out function and then unlocking it every time I needed to use it. It would've been annoying too. This light is worse in terms in features. Only 2 settings. The low setting is very low, but lasts long at least. The highest setting isn't nearly as high as the Fenix light, but good enough. I'm glad it charges via USB-C since I'm trying to switch all of my devices to use that (note that the front of the light partially blocks the USB port so you have to get it in, watch for the charging light to come on and then don't touch it or it will come out just a tiny bit and not charge, the included charging cable is slimmer than most so it doesn't cause as much of a problem, but if your cables are fat at the end you won't be able to get it in far enough to initiate charging). But the thing that is most important is that it is ready to go when I need it. The best flashlight in the world is still useless if it is always discharged. To turn this light on you need to push the head in and twist it a few turns for the weak light, then twist it a turn and a half or 2 to get it in to high output mode. This isn't something that can accidentally happen in my pocket, so I am happy. If there was a light that activates like this, but comes with the robust feature set of the Fenix I would be in heaven, but this is what I want and is good enough for me.

The Olight brand has amazing flashlights. The brightness is awesome. We purchased two of these keychain flashlights for gifts for people that live in cities. They have both said these are great to have. One said it has helped with walking their dog at night. The size is about the size of a AA battery but the amount of light is like flipping a light switch and illuminating an entire room. The charge also lasts a long time. I highly recommend this product for anyone who finds themselves out at night on a regular basis. It barely takes up room on a keychain. You could easily just attach this to a lanyard too and wear around your neck if you don’t want it on keys. This is also easy to use.

Fabulous little light. Quality is great and it does not need batteries. Easy to charge and has two light settings both of which throw and amazing amount of light for the size of the flashlight. How did they make it so small??? Works great and hangs on my key chain. No problem recommending this one.

For the past 10 years I have been a huge fan of one of the predecessors of this light, the Olight i1R EOS, which is an incredibly useful and bright keychain light at an amazingly low price. I bought dozens of them and gave them to friends and family for years, and I have at least 10 of them in my own home. I recently purchased this model, the i1R 2 Pro, and it's a great addition to this product line. The Olight i1R 2 Pro improves on the i1R EOS in nearly every way; upgrading from micro USB to USB C charging, increasing peak brightness from 130 Lumens to 180 Lumens, and increasing the built-in battery capacity from 80 mAH to 130 mAH. Another great feature of the i1R 2 Pro is that the LED and lens assembly stays attached to the battery assembly when it is configured for charging, whereas the i1R EOS came apart into two pieces for charging, risking the loss of the LED & lens assembly. The only (small) price to pay for the improved specs is a slightly larger form factor: i1R 16.2mm diameter by 52.2mm length (in off position), compared to the original i1R which was 13.9 diameter by 42.8mm length (in off position). I love the smaller size of the i1R EOS, but the improved specs of the i1R 2 Pro are a worthwhile trade-off for the slightly larger size. On low intensity mode (5 Lumens), the battery is rated to last for 12 hours, and on high power it's rated for 23 minutes. This works just fine for the way I typically use the light, as a minimal "moonlight" for navigating around the house in the dark, and as a (very) bright light for searching for dropped items outside at night or inside cabinets or other dark corners. In my experience the battery does not run down at all if left unused for weeks or months, which is a great feature for leaving one of these in every backpack, first aid kit, car glovebox, key ring, and junk drawer. I have purchased a number of different flashlights fro Olight for myself and as gifts, and I'm impressed with their reliability and consistent performance for all products I have used. I use one (or more) of the i1R series flashlights on a daily basis, and I always have one within reach, making it, by definition, the most useful flashlight I own.
