Great Antenna
I have had this antenna for over 4 years now. The durability is no question amazing, no issues at all. I even lost the actual antenna’s prongs and the Bluetooth and range still work great, even far away! Never noticed heat from this since it’s in my computer, highly recommend this. The value for money is 100% worth it.

Quick, easy, and Windows 10 compatible
Moving my computer away from the side of the UVerse modem for the first time, there isn't a whole lot of information on network adapters out there. I looked at a few sites, though, and this adapter seemed to be popular and effective, using one PCIe x16 slot. Installation was easy (what you see in the picture is the full-sized fitting for most computer cases; it also comes with a half-sized fitting for mini-ATX or something of the sort). Open case (safely), unscrew existing case panel for that slot, plug in card, screw this facepiece into place, close up the case, power on. I'm using Windows 10, for which there is no downloadable software...and that's okay. I added my network card's MAC address to my router (still had the Ethernet connected at this point), and went to the Networking app and clicked to add a new network. Windows found my new network adapter with ease, and after typing in my WiFi router's information I had a new connection for the internet. Disabled the LAN connection and I still had Internet! I was off and running. So far it's all pros and no cons. I'm getting 130 Mbps standard (which is faster than the UVerse speed itself), haven't had any dropped connections, and the signal is very strong a story and forty feet away. If you've got a desktop and want to add WiFi capabilities, this is a great option.

Works perfectly with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I have only had this for a few days. I always wanted to have a computer hooked up to the big TV in the living room to watch internet video. We have a PS3 but it is CONSTANTLY needing updating, and the way it handles YouTube and other web video stinks; however, the PS3 has a built-in wireless card. I had a couple of older computers that I was experimenting with, but they didn't have wireless cards, or didn't have an OS that would recognize my video card. Last week, people were tossing out their old junk and someone was discarding a working Dell computer with a duo-core Pentium; but they had taken out the hard drive, and it had no wireless card again. So, I took a hard drive out of another old computer, stuck it in this newer Dell, and it worked fine. But I had to drag a long network cable through the living room to get on the internet. That's a sloppy and slightly dangerous solution, so I opted to get a new wireless card. There were claims on Amazon that this reasonably priced card would work with Ubuntu, which was installed on that old drive. I upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 first, then unhooked the network cable. When this TP-Link card arrived the next day, I just opened up the Dell and plugged it in. It detected all of the nearby networks immediately. And I chose my old Linksys 802.11g wireless router from the list, entered the password, and BOOM! there we are -- on the internet. It seems to work fast and steady. The distance between the Linksys router and the Dell is about 18 feet and goes through one wall. No problems. I never had to install any drivers or tinker with any settings -- it just worked with Ubunut 14.04 LTS as soon as I turned the power on. I'm connected to a RCN cable modem, no compatibility issues, no pop-up menus, nothing but net. :)

Works great, but looks ugly through a window.
I haven't tested the speeds or anything so I can't go too much into technical detail. I can say it's very easy to set up, just throw it in a pcie slot. I assumed I would have to install a driver, but as soon as I booted up the pc after installation it was recognized by Windows 10 Pro and I was receiving WiFi signal like it came with it. Installed it into someone else's pc so I don't live with it but heard there have been no hiccups. The range seems good, it's in a pc in a corner on the second floor, opposite side of the small home where the router is on the first floor. Feels faster than WiFi on wireless devices such as phones and tablet, but not as fast as my personal pc which is a wired connection, no surprise there. Overall I am impressed how good it is for wireless. Maybe one day wireless will be as fast as wired, but not today. Casual users like the device's owner won't really notice the difference between this and wired when it comes to checking Facebook and such. If you are a pro gamer or trading on wall street, stay wired. The antennas do seem durable enough to last if they aren't abused, just remember they are there when moving the pc. My only complaint is that it's green, not black. If it would have cost another dollar for a black pcb, I would gladly pay it. I know it seems picky to knock off a star for a green pcie device, but nowadays almost every decent chassis has tempered glass and this thing is a real eyesore in an otherwise beautiful build. Obviously if you throw this in a Dell or HP or something you won't see it, but in a custom build it really stands out and looks ugly. You can mitigate this a bit by choosing a slot under the gpu rather than over it, but then you impede airflow to the gpu. However, the difference in gpu cooling is likely very minor in most cases. Ultimately it's up to you. This pc owner decided not to hinder airflow to the gpu cooler in any way, so it's above it and its ugly. Rest of the build looks amazing. What a shame.

Works good Easy Installation Does the most obvious but still the most important thing, makes your desktop pc wireless, so you no longer need to run that ethernet cable through your room to the router. And the best thing is Ping Time as well as Up and Down speed are just as good as wired connection. Those 3 antennas helps if your pc is a bit away from the router, now of course the exact range would depend on your router as well but still its a pro. The dual band capability is a must for a pc as you don't want any interference caused when using 2.4Ghz while you are online gaming or doing something important. Now the most obvious and only con would be this can't be used for laptops as this is a pci card not a usb one, and even though you can shift this from one desktop to another and its not a lot of trouble, but no one should do that as it might damage the card slot and the card itself, so this is basically a one desktop card at a time, although it didn't affect me it just might be a problem for someone so just mentioning it. I would most certainly recommend this product.

I purchased the TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI-e card, mainly because it allows you to connect to 5 GHz networks. Installation was very easy, and the package comes with an optional low-profile bracket (although I did not need it for my tower), and 3 screw-on antennas. After the card was physically installed and I powered on my PC (running Windows 10, 64-bit), the hardware was automatically detected and the driver installed. I was surprised at how fast it shipped, considering I placed the order late on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24th) and received it on Boxing Day. As soon as I connected to my 5 GHz network, I ran 3 separate network speed tests at [...] and consistently reached ~25 Mbps download, 10 ms ping, and ~15 Mbps upload each time. Since I installed this card a few days ago, my network speed has not degraded one bit, and I never experience the frustration of lagging out or getting disconnected mid-game. Therefore, I highly recommend this product, for the following reasons: - fast shipping - ease of installation - reliability - very reasonable price point (purchased for $39.99) For the reader's reference, prior to purchasing this wireless adapter, I had an AMD-branded Ralink RT3090. Located only 15 feet away from my wireless router, the PC had very unreliable WiFi connection--ranging between 0.5 Mbps to 12 Mbps (I have Teksavvy 25 Mbps DSL). After installing the latest driver, connection speed and reliability improved slightly, but I ultimately determined that living in a condo with dozens of other WiFi signals in the 2.4 GHz band was a huge part of the problem. I like to do some online gaming and occasional streaming / downloading, so reliable network speed is important.

Consigliata!
