Must have, for older computers' hardware compatibility
I just finished writing a Zip 100 Drive review, so search on my nickname and 'zip' in Reviews (or look up All My Reviews, as the Zip review will be the same date as this one, nicely alongside).Basically, you need these old Zip drives to enable your DOS machines to 'talk to' your newer Windows machines. And you or your parents or your grandparents, will have such older files (I'm 59, so I guess I qualify in the granny category). So maybe give this as a gift to them, or carry it over to their house and help them preserve the old files. For you will need those old files, for nostalgia, tax and legal purposes, eventually.

Waste of my money. Windows 95 required.
You must have Windows 95 to use this item. Who still has Windows 95 for crying out loud!

while both handy and useful, is not well made
This drive, while both handy and useful, is not well made. I have had several of this model and they do not last. In addition, construction is poor.

Arrived with wrong power supply cord
Item not in working condition when it arrived. Lights on front were both lit but nothing would happen. Search of web indicated faulty power supply. Further investigation revealed incorrect power supply was included with drive. New power supply costs more than the drive itself!

Make sure this product connect to your computer
This product was not properly advertised. Advertisement on Amazon.com stated this product is connected to computer by UCB port. This information was confirmed by Amazon personnel per my telephone contact prior to purchase. However, the Iomega Zip 100 External Drive was delivered with PC Parallel connection which is not compatible with my current HP computer. I was later told I could get Iomega Zip with UCB connection for 4x price I paid. No thanks!

The product didn't work.
Product was inoperable. I returned it. Very annoying experience. Your survey is also annoying. Why must I include a fixed number of words in the commentary?

printer cable
Item arrived quickly and intact however, I have no way to attach it to my computer because it has a 20 pin printer jack and not a USB cable. Buyer beware.

Unless you have an ancient computer with parallel ports or the necessary adapters, don't bother with this one.
