I purchased this filter for my Panasonic canister vacuum, model MC-CG902. This filter is 4 7/8 " x 5", a perfect fit for my vacuum. It has 2 layers. One is a black open-pore foam material. The pores are more dense, not as open, as my previous filter. This is great - the air will flow through, but it will help trap even more dust than the previous filter. The other layer looks like white felt. It is actually a hair thinner than the previous filter, but I am not concerned about it. It is also dense enough to do it's job. The price of these filters was excellent. A good, clean filter is important to keeping a vacuum running well and preventing problems. I purchased the 6 pack, 3 pkgs. of 2 each. I will happily change the filter to a new one, as soon as it is dirty. Shipping was quick and easy.

These are a perfect fit and cost a fraction of the kenmore ones. They work exactly the same and do the job as expected.

I recently bought new bags and filters and they were just like the ones that came from the factory years ago. Even better they were the exact same as the environ care products that I have purchased from my Vac guy before.

I did a search for this filter for my old Kenmore canister vac 11623312301. Sears was the only site that said they had it. All other sites said it had been discontinued. There were no measurements on the Sears site, and the filter was expensive. I finally measured the old filter. These filters fit perfectly and look just like the old filter which I had never changed. I got six for half the price of one from Sears. The manual calls these "motor safety filter electrostatic." The parts number on the Sears diagram is 8175172. I don't know if that is correct since the picture of it is just a black square. I am very happy that I can stop searching.
