Packs a punch for the right price.
I’ve been looking for a compact CD player that’ll fit with my decor so I can play my old CD’s that just aren’t on streaming services. I came across the Majority Homerton 2 and given its array of functionality, looks, and price, I thought I’d give it a spin. It arrived well packed and when I took it out of the box I was surprised by its weight and how sturdy it felt. Once fired up it launched into the set up wizard which is pretty simple to do and took less than 5 minutes. With some 80’s tunes on the CD player I thought I’d better read the instructions. The instructions are online and accessed with the QR code on the box which is a great sustainable touch. They are detailed and easy to follow, but to be honest the Homerton 2 is really intuitive so most people probably won’t need them. All of the functions can be accessed on the remote (which has a lovely ‘click’ to it) or on the front of the unit, but it also has an app, which is probably how I’ll use it. The app is really good, and again the set up was so easy - I think the only thing you can’t do on the app is eject a CD! The Homerton 2 sounds great for its size and although I’ll be integrating it into my current audio eco-system via the jack on the back, it’s good to know it can belt out a tune. And the connectivity available is better than some systems that are far far more expensive - you’ve USB, jacks in and out, Bluetooth (which has great range) and Spotify connect. And on top of that you get podcast player and the internet radio, neither of which I knew I needed but now absolutely love. Both are simple to use, even more so on the app and there is so much to explore. So all in all I’d thoroughly recommend the Homerton 2 to anyone looking for a dab / internet radio / CD player that’s affordable, flexible and has some oomph.

Amazing sound
This has exceeded my expectations and well worth it. Sound quality is superb. I use it mainly as radio and cd player. Found internet and Radio stations very easy to set up and for someone like me who is in no way tech savvy it meant I didn’t have to ask for help with set up. . Good quality product. Very user friendly and instruction manual easy to follow. I noticed in the paperwork there was a note saying that there is around the clock product experts and friendly uk based support. If you should ever need it.

The Homerton 2 has it all!
I spent literally months looking for a way to play music while working at home, i needed DAB, I have a lot of CDs and I also use Spotify. Firstly – no printed manual, and they plant a tree instead so that appeals to me as most paper manuals end up in a drawer anyway. This unit couldn’t be easier to set up, quite intuitive and clear to follow. Getting the digital manual from the site is easy, just scan the QR code on the box and away you go. I wanted a stereo that would play Spotify and not get interrupted by phone calls or anything, I used to use a Bluetooth speaker, but I got tired of notifications and calls coming out of the speaker all the time and interrupting the music. Homerton 2 nails this with the inclusion of Spotify connect. This allows the streaming to be handled by the device rather than phone, and my phone becomes the controller. I love how the display shows the music artwork while using Spotify, nice touch guys! The DAB is clear and easy to tune and save presents for all your DAB favs, excellent reception in my area. The CD player works well, sounds great and doesn’t make any extra noise to detract from the music playing, nobody wants to hear any whirling! It also boasts, audio IN, FM radio, Podcasts, USB, Bluetooth Audio, and searches for internet radio stations! It's the right size for my desk and is a nifty little unit, with great sound for its size. The included remote is very useful if you need to put the unit out of reach and includes everything you would need to do on your Homerton 2. And it tells me the time! All in all, it’s the full package in a compact unit that works well, sounds great and has all the functionality I could want and more.

A compact do all!
First Impressions Well packaged and secure. No manual with a QR code to directly link to an online manual which can be downloaded as a pdf (you have to look for the link though). What’s in the Box? Homerton 2, Remote, Batteries and Power Pack/Cable Initial Look & Feel Looks to be a premium unit with really nice contrasting colourways. I chose the black option which looks fab. The markings on the unit are difficult to see in bright light - maybe contrasting colour would help here. It’s a solid unit with some weight to it. The remote has all the buttons you will need to operate all functions easily. Setting Up Easy to read on screen instructions guide you through the process of set-up: the online manual is an easy read with plenty of detail to ease you through the various connections. Simply search for your local Wifi network and connect via your Local Password or WPS. Once connected to Wifi the unit really does come alive with all the bells and whistles available to connect to your favourite online music sources. I chose to try out a CD first. I have loads I have not played for some time and it was great to have this function available. How many of us have CDs that are sitting in boxes?! The DAB+ function was easy to set up with all the various Regional and Genre access you benefit from when using digital radio. There is so much content available you will never run out of things to listen to. The Internet Radio function adds to the DAB world and I chose to search for a number of obscure radio stations to see if I could connect. Yes, easy enough to connect to St Lucia & Florida based radio. This is a great function and brings the world of radio to your listening. The only negative I found (a very minor point) was during CD playback. There is no embedded data to display. Maybe an over the air update in the future? As a positive, Podcasts were really easy to access - there are so many available now via DAB+ you could easily lose yourself for hours, days, weeks and months. Bluetooth Connection Simply turn your BT device on (mobile phone in my case) and add the Homerton 2. Once done you can use the Homerton 2 to play your digital music. The supplied remote can be used to pause and/or select next/previous track. Easy! Two negatives exist for me here; You can’t connect the Homerton 2 to an external Bluetooth enabled sound system eg my Majority Ben Sound Bar and Sub Woofer. However, you can use the headphone connection to facilitate this if your unit is close enough to make this happen. Nor does what you are playing via Bluetooth show on the Homerton 2 home screen - minor point but useful never-the-less if you like to see your media source and what's playing. One real benefit is the ability to use the Undok App as your remote. This is an app you can download to your phone and then control the Homerton 2 via your phone - a really nice touch! USB I tried to use a 64GB USB memory stick, containing a wide range of my favourite MP3 files I use in the car. The Homerton 2 home screen simply said ‘loading…’. Maybe it was the size of my memory stick but I was unable to play any of the MP3s on this stick. This has been reported to Majority tech support – a friendly lot. Sound From such a compact unit the sound is pretty good. There is a small ‘Bass Out Tube’ at the rear which obviously adds something to the sound quality. There is no vibration, even at higher volumes. There is an in-built equaliser where you can select a number of sound options and you can adjust bass and treble. Final Comments This is a decent unit that covers all the media bases well. Small and compact to situate in the Kitchen, Bedroom, in a Living Space or as a decent multi-media capable music base situated in your Living Room. The Homerton 2 is easy to set up, has a really easy to use remote (or you can control the unit via the Undok App) and it’s a unit which produces a decent level of good quality sound for you to enjoy music or spoken word media. The DAB+ and Internet Radio are a real bonus (there is so much to access in these formats from all over the world) and the CD player is an oft relegated benefit that seems to have disappeared from comparable units. Most of us have a lifetime investment in CD’s that we have not listened to for ages – great to revisit these with the Homerton 2. The Clock Face when the system is ‘off’ is a nice looking thing and from the clock function you have access to a couple of alarms. And, finally, the home screen is dimmable. For the price, I paid £139.95 from Amazon, this unit is a little gem that will get lots of use.

Brilliant, well priced product!
mrkevinhiggs 22 May 2022, 18:25 BST I ordered the Homerton 2 as an upgrade to standard DAB radio. I was looking for something to fit in with my office, not take up too much room but able to listen to DAB, Spotify or other music from my Bluetooth devices, and CDs if I fancied. The Homerton 2 does all of this along with being able to listen to hundreds of other internet radio stations. With a built in speaker too I didn't even need to wire in my Majority D40 speakers unless I really wanted to. The sound from the Homerton 2 is loud enough to fill my office as much as i need it to, and with built in equaliser it is so easy to adjust the sound depending on what I'm listening to. I probably will plug the D40 speakers in as their sound profile is fab, and as the Homerton 2 has a headphone jack this is a simple addition to an already brilliant product. For the price I am blown away, it also looks and feels really well made. The other really good thing is that Majority are looking to become more climate friendly so the packaging is pretty much all recyclable and the weight of the product is kept for shipping by not including things you don't need. There is no instruction manual in the box which might upset some people but the Homerton 2 is so easy to set up I didn't even need to review the online instructions in order to get the device connected and music playing. I haven't tried the CD player yet but there are the usual controls for pause, play, back, forward on the included remote, so I'm sure this will also work a dream. I honestly don't know how Majority do it for such a low price, and such a brilliant product. Well done! 👍

Great all round radio and CD player and good price good looking piece.
Delivery was prompt well packaged.Absolutely love the radio 📻itself tone is best I think I've had in a radio, lots of stuff I don't understand, like internet radio couldn't do that as I think you've got to have a computer and be on line and I don't have a computer but what I wanted was DAB radio and I've got on the station I wanted really couldn't be happier so very happy with purchase recommend it it's British made a good price compact good looking equipment. CDs play lovely too.

Good Value for Money
I was moved to buy a new radio because Classic FM moved to DAB+. I looked at various options online and was attracted to this one because it also plays CDs (of which I still have a sizeable collection) as well as internet radio (which I thought it would be interesting to explore) and can play mp3 files from a USB stick and content streamed via Bluetooth, all at a reasonable price. The sound quality is obviously not that of a high end hifi system but is nevertheless very good, and can easily fill my living area. It took a bit of experimentation and re-reading of the instruction manual to work out how to use all the functions, but once I got going everything proved easy enough to operate. The supplied remote control is easy to use (as a previous reviewer noted one does need line of sight to the radio, but one does not need to be especially close) and you also have the option to download apps to your phone which can then also be used to operate the radio. As another reviewer noted, switching inputs can cause a noticeable difference in volume, but then the same is true of my TV, and in both cases it is hardly much of an effort to adjust the volume to compensate. The unit is also conveniently compact.

A Smart Looking Unit With A Good Sound
Setting up for basic radio programmes and the CD player was relatively simple although I found it confusing in respect of internet radio and podcasts. It provides a wide selections of radio stations and a facility to store your favourite stations for quick selection. The sound quality is extremely good for a relatively small unit and it looks smart. Although the user manual is fairly comprehensive it doesn't tell you how to eject a CD (Yes I still play them) so thank you Google!
