Works great.
I gave this a 5 in spite of having poor documentation. It looks exactly like the pictures. It feels heavy (won't move on the desk), and the housing is thick metal. The knob is nice. All the default functions seemed to work plug and play out of the box on Windows. (I didn't try Mac or Linux.) It comes with a little flyer explaining the base functions in poorly worded English, but it's ok. It has a USB-A to USB-C cord that's long enough for most desks. It's easy to program, but there's no directions for doing so. I found out by reading other reviews and checking the "FAQ" on the Drok site. 1. Start with knob unplugged 2. Open Notepad 3. Press knob down and hold 4. Plug knob in. 5. TURN KNOB (I had to turn the knob, or nothing happened) 6. Notepad will display text and options 7. Use the knob to move up and down through the menu, and push to select. 8. You don't need a modifier, unless you are using a combination of keys like [ctrl.]+[x] 9. Options include keyboard keys, mouse functions, and others. 10. Save If you are very uncomfortable with computer and technical things it will probably be confusing, but it's really well done. When you are programming the dial will switch apps if you select the desktop - just click on the Notepad window to correct. I programmed it to scroll pages up and down, press once for mouse click, when you press it it still does volume, and pause/start with a long click. It scrolls both pages and text windows fine.

Works as described - good addition to control varying audio sources and levels vs using constant mouse moves
Update on July 19, 2018 - 3+ months later: I use this usb control knob everyday and it works great in adjusting sound running via my PC. I work with video editing with 3 monitors and also watch lots of YouTube videos. Every one of them varies in sound levels, so this knob allows fast changes in volume levels without hunting for the mouse to adjust controls on the PC or use a remote. If I get a call, rather than hunt for the mouse, just one swift tap shuts off existing PC sound to hear the phone. It would be nice if it was wireless, so I don't have to deal with the rather short cord. They need to provide a longer cord or make it wireless or have that as an extra cost option. The weight of the device is heavy enough to keep it fairly stable and not slide around. They should also provide some means to attach it to the side or under a desk, but hook and loop fastener tape would probably work also. Now if they could add a USB controlled second button to stop and start YouTube videos, that would be even better. Here is my original post: I just got this today, Apr. 6, 2018 and it is GREAT. Before, when playing YouTube music, or Amazon movies, or Plex TV recordings via an over the air capture device like HDHomerun, the volumes put out to my external speakers varied by source. Sometimes I had to adjust both the Windows 10 volume AND the YouTube volume or when I used headphones, they have to be turned way up using the Win 10 slider. That is inconvenient because I work in an enclosed porch where you can still rain and if heavy I have to switch to headphones, which is a pain. This adjusts them all. Now I don't have to use the mouse or cursor to adjust volume, but just this knob. It takes more turning to adjust volume when left as is, but if you press the knob and turn, the volume is adjusted much faster. And, if you just press and release the knob, it switches between on and mute. WONDERFUL. I have tried a couple cheaper kludgy devices, and almost bought an entire new speaker system with a remote knob, but this does what I want. The price is kinda steep for just an apparent rotating knob, but most others on the market are all in the same range. I ordered a different one fulfilled by Amazon, and for the first time ever, USPS lost it, so Amazon let me cancel it because they had no replacement. Here is what I tested so far: - YouTube video music - adjusted sound like described above. - Switched to a TV show recorded on a Plex Server, and it could not be heard. By turning the knob in fast mode, it immediately ramped up the sound to the level I wanted. - Switched to live OTA TV over HD Homerun and it was really loud... used fast mode and turned it down very quickly. - Switched to an MP4 video I recorded last night, and it was about the same at the OTA level, but it could be adjusted. - Tried to plug in my headphones, but the system is a custom build with ASUS motherboard and it wants to use onboard audio which is apparently a different source. I have to figure that out before I come back to explain how it works with headphones. Audio signal differences are a black art and very confusing to this user. The black base measures about 3" x 3.25" x 2.25" high (with knob). I have it sitting on a LARGE mouse pad so it doesn't slide around. There is no need for a picture since it looks just like the ones in the description. If I encounter issues later, I will return and update it. VJ in Florida Apr. 6, 2018

Very useful peripheral, I updated the knob and insulated the weights
Useful peripheral to have nearby when listening to music or taking calls. It works like a regular USB keyboard device and had no issues in Mac and Windows. It works well with bluetooth headphones and speakers as well as any audio device that supports volume control. Secondary controls are available via long button press and button press + left/right encoder movements. It has a USB-C connector and feels well built w/ metal enclosure and anti-skid pads underneath. The knob is illuminated with a single blue LED. Itโs only illuminated when making volume adjustments which is something I really appreciated. It has weights inside which help keep it firmly in place - as an added safety measure, I added some gaffers tape between the weights and PCB. The knob is running "iWit USB Controller" which allows you to reprogram the functions. In Windows, open Notepad.exe and hold down the button while plugging in the USB cable. From there you navigate using the wheel + button and you'll see the text update in the Notepad application. It has a Mac and Windows mode and quite a few options for mapping different keys/key combos which make it extremely adaptable. The knob has a nice tactile feel. The stock knob is great but to compliment my other components I opted to upgrade it with a black 38mm aluminum one I found on Amazon. ^_^

Simple plug and play multifunctional volume/control knob
This does exactly what it says. A very simple plug and play model. Windows immediately recognizes that it adjusts the system volume. I didn't have to do anything special. I like that it has 4 small rubber pads underneath, so it stays on the desk where I put it, and doesn't slide around, and the USB cable is plenty long enough to reach across the desk. It also has the option of a nice cool blue glow which makes it look great, and the knob has multiple functions like quick/slower effect on the volume, mute, and a couple of others. Perfect for what I needed.

Works great as a makeshift arcade spinner
Since this knob is reprogrammable, I bought it on a whim thinking I might be able to use it as an arcade spinner/paddle controller with MAME. I'm amazed at how well it works for that purpose! It's got a nice heft to it and non-skid feet, so it stays firmly in place when playing and the large dial almost perfectly mimics the size of arcade spinners. I have it configured to map it's rotation to mouse dial movements, but it could also be mapped to X or Y mouse axis, or keystrokes, any of which will work in MAME. As an added bonus, it's also configured so that when I press the dial down and rotate, it still works as a volume control. The only downside to using it as an arcade controller is that it's resolution is just 30 (12 degrees of arc), so movement is a little jerky in paddle games like Arkanoid that originally had resolutions in the hundreds, but it's perfect for games like Tempest that don't need as fine control. The build quality seems decent, but with all plastic parts, I'm curious to see how long it lasts under heavy use.

Almost Perfect; Solid for Windows 11
Works great, plug and play with Windows 11, and controls Spotify on windows. Needed a controller to skip tracks on Spotify for windows and this worked perfectly right out of the box. Would have given it 5 stars but the knob is slightly lopsided/tilted (see picture). Price for quality is worth it and blue light is a neat touch.

Elegant minimalist design, works great
Worked right out of the box to adjust volume, and was super easy to configure as a fun mouse alternative using the notepad-based interface. I was very impressed by the clever firmware wizard! I recommend my settings: 1 Clockwise : Mouse Wheel- (scrolls down) 2 Counterclockwise : Mouse Wheel+ 3 Press : Mouse Click 4 Press+Counterclockwise: Ctrl+Tab 5 Press+Counterclockwise : Shift+Ctrl+Tab 6 Long Press : Esc The rubber feet and general heft of the knob keep it stationary on the desk even when scrolling through multiple rotations. The metal feels smooth to the touch, and there is very slight concentric grooving on the face so that you can comfortably and consistently spin the knob. For immediate response, the stippling on the rim provides a firm grip for a partial rotation with a two-finger pinch. I'll have to follow up in a few months to describe its durability, as I can feel the knob wobbling a little bit, but so far I am loving it.

Works very well. Convenient, much more so than keyboard controls. Recommended.
Previously I had given the device a one star rating as it (apparently) had failed. Turned out to be a Windows issue. Gasp! Shock & horror! - who could have imagined that Windows might have a problem... Once the Windows problem was resolved, the volume control knob is working fine, exactly as intended. Highly recommended. What I like about it most is the large-ish rotary control - I know where it is on my desk, and I don't have to fumble for it, no looking away from whatever I'm doing when I change volume, no digging for a couple of rarely used keys on the keyboard, making it very convenient. Silence is a tap on top, sound on is another tap. Great!

long press pause doesn't work, knob is plastic
The long press pause doesn't work at all, and the knob is cheap thin plastic with metal paint on it. Kind of overpriced for what it is.

Cheap knob
While the overall unit is solid, the actual knob & software is rather poor. Plastic knob cheap.

Very Good!
Worked like a charm. Just quite expensive.

works well with SDR radio, Hdsdr, Psdr, and Thetis sw
After reading a review that someone used this knob with SDR i decided to get one, Been using the Flex Knob with Thetis but its a bit wonky to get going, this is so much simpler, it doesnt have ALL the advanced features the Flex knob has but its dead simple to set up. There are no instructions per say in the package , watch the video on the amazon site on how to set up before you decide what is best for you, It probably has over 150 fucntions/shortcuts and numbers that can be programmed. Thanks to the comment from a customer that left feed back , it made me look closer as to what it can actually do.
