The ratcheting mechanism is silky smooth and brutally strong. My oldest one is 40 years old this year, and it still works exactly as well as the one I bought this year. If you want a bit-holder insert, there are many available to 3d print, but I like having the open space in the handle to hold 12 (twelve!) bits even if they rattle around a bit. The 5 included bits are made by Zephyr, and if you need other bits (you will) theirs are the best I've found.
