Easy to install and nice functionalitly
I was "bored" so decided to install one of these auto shutoff fan timer switches in our guest bathroom. A number of years ago I installed one of these, but from a different brand I bought locally (and for a lot more money) in our downstairs bath. With more and more company coming in lately, it seemed like a good idea to install one of these that automatically shuts itself off in the guest bathroom for their convenience. The hardest part of the install was all the running around to- and from- the circuit breaker panel outside. My house, having been built in 1993, has the white wire running through all the circuits. I know from experience that this can complicate things a bit when switching out a simple two-black-wire ON-OFF switch to something like this that has two extra wires (the green Ground, and the extra white wire). I took off the plastic switch plate cover (bought a new replacement with the appropriate sized large rectangular hole for this switch online at Amazon....also for a good price, and saving me a trip to the local hardware store for just a few cents more) and, of course...as I anticipated, I guessed wrong the first time around and installed the two black wires backwards the first time. I'm no electrician, but I figured if I get them wrong the first time it just won't come on and I can switch them back, and that's what happened. I installed the Green to the copper ground wire; the White to the white wire bundle coming out of the wall. And one of the Black to one of the black wires, and the Red to another black wire coming out of the wall. It didn't work after I turned the power back on. So I simply swapped out the two Black wire connections and immediately the fan worked perfectly. I tested a couple of the timer settings to make sure the fan shutoff when it was supposed to, and everything was OK. In case anyone is wondering, the red (showing that it's off) and green (indicating the time set for shutoff) indicator lights are not very bright at all. So they won't disturb your night vision. But at the same time they are not bright enough to serve as a "nightlight" for you if that's what you want. This seems like a very sturdy and well-built automatic timer switch that should hopefully last many, many years. Yes, it's a bit "deep", but nothing that's a problem in a more modern home with a standard-depth switch box in the wall. It's relatively easy to install even if you're not much of a handyman like me. And the price was about half of what one in the local hardware store (big box with either yellow or blue motif) would cost.

Easy to install, Red LED for Off is always on, 20m LED doesn't work
We had an Intermatic timer switch for our bathroom fan that stopped working after 5 years. Looking into replacements, the cost of the timer switch increased from ~$20 to ~$40 for similar switches by the same brand so decided to try out this switch b/c it had closer time time increments we were used to for a much better price (<$15). Local stores only had timer switches ~$40 for time increments we didn't like. It was very quick and easy to switch out (I had previously swapped to a manual switch while waiting for this one to deliver, which was a lot more work). Timer switch works on the first try after installation. The Off red LED is always on, which will take some getting used to, but it isn't in any eyesight line from our bedroom/doesn't bother us. The 20m green LED doesn't work, which is only reason this is 4 star instead of 5 star. The timer switch box is bigger than a regular light switch so it may be a tight fit to jam all the wires back into the box and make sure the timer switch is level with the outer panel. Ours already had a timer switch originally in there, but it was still a bit of coaxing to get it to line up flush.

Nice looking switch that is easy to install
This is the second one of these I've purchased. They have fit the boxes I'm working with. The directions are clear. The fit on the covers (Enerlite) I've used has provided a nice cosmetic finish. Wiring the device is simple. There are four wires attached; black, red, white and green. Wiring in order is green is attached to your bare copper or grounded to your box depending on the devices you are using. White is attached to the white wires. The black wire from the switch goes to the 'hot' wire that is on the switch you are replacing. The red wire attaches to the cold wire from the switch. (This is likely the wire that takes power to the light/fan in your circuit.) All wire nuts (4) and screws (2) for the switch come in a sealed plastic bag. As I was replacing an existing toggle switch with this one, some wire nuts were already in place and I didn't need everything provided with the switch. The extras went in my electrical tool box for another project. Negatives? Not really. The design requires pressing the "On" button to cycle through the desired time delay for the circuit; 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. To turn the circuit off early a number of depresses of the button is required to cycle through wherever you happen to be to get to "Off." Another interesting feature is that if it is set for 10 minute delay, the 10 minute light comes on. As the time decreases to 5 minutes the 10 minute light goes out and the 5 minute light goes on. This allows you to have a rough idea of how much time is remaining before the circuit is opened and the light/fan goes off. As I have two more fans to put timers on, I plan to buy 2 more of these as they have worked fine so far.

Works as described. Installation is easy with the wiring code clearly shown on the side of the unit itself. Diagram on the box is a little confusing. Note: when comparing different units, look at the actual preset timer times available that meet you needs. Bought one and then two more to install throughout the house.

I did not get what was shown in pic online and what I ordered, but I kept the product because this also does what it is intended to do.

Timer was easy enough to install. It is a tight fit in the electrical box but I don't think it is any thicker than other timers. I think as others have indicated it doesn't fit switch plate properly (seems to sit back in box further than it should) but with a little bit of adjusting it was sufficient enough look okay with existing light switches in box. Switch works well shutting off properly at the indicated times.

On time, as advertised and works well. I have bought 5 of these so far and they all work well. They do need a neutral wire in the switch box. They come with clear instructions and wire connectors in the box; take about 1/2 hour to install.
